Basurin sez Junta Preparing Provocations in Western Media Using Actors Pretending to be Novorossiyan Soldiers

Today, at a briefing in Donetsk, DNR Deputy Defence Minister E А Basurin stated that the junta, aided by its foreign backers, are preparing media provocations to discredit the Peoples Republics using actors disguised as patriot soldiers. He said, “According to our intel, soon, the Ukrainian side plans to broadcast on state TV a series of purported ‘news stories’ with actors posing as defectors from our forces. They intend to air these on Western TV channels. This action involves the SBU, aided by their foreign backers. The SBU is dressing some people up in DNR and LNR cammies and scripting stories. They’ll have foreigners shoot video that’d ‘just appear’ on Ukrainian media, then, they’d plaster it over Western TV and the internet. The main purpose of this propaganda campaign, which occurs against a backdrop of their actual daily shelling of our towns, is to distract Ukrainian and Western public opinion from Ukrainian internal problems”.

30 May 2015. Greetings to All My New Followers! You Oldtimers Know the Score… Gotta Tell the Newbies…

This is NOT a single-issue forum… if that’s what you’re looking for… this isn’t it. This is a blog by a reasonably well-educated Russian-American woman of leftist politics and Russian Orthodox religion. The posts here reflect that. There’s some Russian culture, there’s some Orthodox religion and news (but no preaching or moralising… I’m no exemplar, kids), there’s some left politics, and there’s some animal stuff (I’m an animal lover… we have three little furbies, and that’s that). This blog existed before the War of National Liberation started in Novorossiya, and it’ll be around after the patriots win and throw out the Uniate nationalist aggressor plug-uglies. Of course, the war news has Priority One, as that affects all of Holy Rus. Yet… there’s much more than that. I’d hope that many of you would stay after the war’s over.

As always, as the old hands know, LOVE rules this house. Love of God, Love of Truth, Love of my Fellow Man, Love of the Natural World about us, and Love for my associates. As I wrote a friend of mine:

S A Yesenin was, perhaps, one of the most popular and beloved poets of the 20th century. He killed himself at age 30… a very dramatic end to a rather tempestuous life. However, he’s one of the greats of the 20th century. All Russians know his farewell poem, at least (the second one above). He’s more popular with ordinary people than he is with the intelligentsia. He’s well-worth knowing…

30 May 2015. Don’t Argue with Asshats! You’re Not a “Jackass Whisperer”

Most of us have heard of the movie The Horse Whisperer. Obviously, the guy in the movie did a fantastic job with the horse. However… you’re not going to have any success in trying to argue the local ignoramus out of their asshattery. Another fruitless Sisyphean task is to get involved in the idiotic wars in the commboxes underneath a post. Yes, I fall off the rock occasionally, but reality soon intrudes, and I ask myself (for the umpteenth time), “Why did I ever think that reason and logic would sway the likes of these asshats?” My advice to you is to let the asshats rant away. Nobody’s listening to them except for their “amen corner”. Don’t argue with self-appointed internet gurus like Elijah Borek… it won’t do you or them a lick of good. Just be ready to pour a tall cool one for friends who get suckered into interacting with asshats. It happened to you, too. An “Et tu, Brute” is better than “I told you so!”

The jackasses ye shall always have with you… so, lighten up and smile at their inanities. That’s the best revenge… pass the jug, that was thirsty work…
