Today, DNR Chairman of the Government A V Zakharchenko said that enemy losses in Maryinka were so severe that morgues in neighbouring towns are overflowing, “Mortuaries are full in Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, and Krasnoarmeisk… they’re even using the refrigerated meat lockers in Kurakhovo. The enemy lost at least 400 dead in Maryinka”.

Zakharchenko sez Patriot Forces Won’t Leave High Ground near Maryinka

Today, DNR Chairman of the Government A V Zakharchenko told a briefing that patriot forces shall continue to occupy the high ground near Maryinka, saying, “We’re still in the same positions that we were in. None of the units has left and I’ve given no orders to that effect either. The only order that I’m going to give them will be to advance. The result of the battle on 3 June in Maryinka saw our forces occupying strategically decisive high ground, which allows us to monitor the town. We took strategically important heights. There’s an orphanage and a hospital there, with vantage points that allow us to monitor all of Maryinka, along with the intersection leading to Krasnogorovka”.

Zakharchenko Related How DNR Republican Guard Whipped Junta so-called National Guard Rabble in Maryinka

DNR Chairman of the Government A V Zakharchenko told us details of the fighting in Maryinka on 3 June, “In Maryinka, starting at 02.00, enemy troops fired on our positions, first, with AFVs, then, with infantry. We pushed towards Trudovska (village bordering Petrovsky Raion of Donetsk). We committed a Republican Guard battalion, supported by four tanks. The enemy dropped back, so, there was fighting in the centre of Maryinka. Our troops advanced to the mine ventilation shaft near Krasnogorovka and surrounded the area, after which the enemy fired MLRSs and heavy artillery at Donetsk. The enemy brought up two additional battalions (Kiev-1 and Kiev-2), so, we countered that with another Republican Guard battalion. All positions in Maryinka remain under the control of our forces. Today, we’ve held all our positions in Maryinka, in the centre of the village. We hold the strategically important crossroads in Krasnogorovka. I believe that we haven’t broken any stipulation of the Minsk agreement, because our units merely counterattacked [after a junta offensive]”.
