LNR MGB operatives found suspicious medicines stored in warehouses of the humanitarian organisation “Doctors without Borders” and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). MGB sources said, “When carrying out a routine inspection for accrediting international non-profit NGOs in the LNR, MGB operatives found illegally stored psychotropic drugs in warehouses used by ‘Doctors without Borders’. They hid these substances in boxes in packages of vitamin supplements”. Olga Shevchenko, a member of the Commission on Accreditation of International Non-Profit NGOs in the LNR, said, “The warehouses where they found these drugs are absolutely not designed to store medicines”. Acting Deputy Chairman of the LNR Council of Ministers Vasili Nikitin, said, “Also, we found drugs illegal in the Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and the LNR”.

Representatives of “Doctors without Borders” refused to comment on the situation. Scheduled inspections also revealed flagrant violations in the handling of medical devices at the ICRC warehouse in Lugansk. An MGB source said, “We discovered drugs in ICRC warehouses without accompanying documents and found serious violations of fire safety. We strictly prohibit the storage of medications in such locations and under such conditions”. The MGB confiscated all suspicious items and sent them for examination. Now, MGB operatives will try to find out how the suspected drugs got into the LNR and what their intended use was.

The DNR has a Fully Stocked Reserve of Paediatric TB Vaccines

______________________________

Today, a source in the DNR Ministry of Health informed us that healthcare facilities have a fully stocked reserve of paediatric TB vaccines:

Our stocks are at 100 percent. The outlook for primary vaccination of children against tuberculosis looks rather good. To date, the Ministry of Health has 40,000 doses, which greatly exceeds the maximum requirements of maternity wards and clinics in the Republic. We have the Russian-produced BCG-M vaccine, designed for non-invasive active specific prevention of tuberculosis with minimal complications. The situation is much worse in the Ukraine. Previously, we observed a high rate of complications using Danish-produced BCG, forcing people to fear and avoid vaccination; now, all TB vaccines are short supply. Previously, we attended to this problem, and the situation in re prevention of paediatric tuberculosis in the DNR is fully under control.

As previously reported, the all-Republic Sanitary-Epidemiological Centre received drugs for vaccination from humanitarian convoys from the Russian Federation. Thanks to such aid, the DNR has more and better vaccines and antitoxins than the Ukraine does.
