A staunchly conservative high-ranking Greek Orthodox priest at a Manhattan church has been suspended and forced to resign after evidence of a longtime affair with a parishioner he once called his “god-daughter” came out. The Post has the exposé on Fr George Passias, the married 67-year-old former pastor of St Spyridon Church in Washington Heights, who they say impregnated his longtime lover and parish-school principal Ethel Bouzalas. In addition, Passias has been accused of misusing church funds, as documented both by the Post and NY Magazine. The Post levied these accusations at Passias in 2013… he denied everything at the time, telling them, “They’ve been saying I’m having a private affair with her. She’s a goddaughter to me. That’s it”. Steve Papadatos, the Parish Council President, told The National Herald at the time that the allegations against Passias were “lies”, blasting the tabloid for publishing a story “replete with slander”.
However, it seems a series of “shocking” sex tapes leaked to church officials have ended Passias’ career. The Post reviewed the tapes, which apparently involved “cake porn”. In one scene, the bearded cleric, wearing only a white T-shirt, watches his longhaired brunette lover plant her thong-clad bottom on a piece of banana bread wrapped in cellophane. Bouzalas, wearing stiletto heels, oddly wiggles on the loaf until it is flattened… apparently, a fetish known as “cake crush” or “cake sitting”. In another video clip, the pretty Peruvian rubs her feet on the priest’s face as they lie under a mirrored ceiling and she records his ecstasy at the encounter. In another tape, the priest performs oral sex on his lover while she is still clad in sheer pantyhose.
The videos, along with an email from Bouzalas’ husband to Bishop Andonios Paropoulos (the chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Church in the USA), was enough for the church to suspend him. Passias officially gave his goodbye to his St Spyridon parish in an email last week, saying he was leaving for “personal and health reasons”, and confessing to “multitudinous sins and shortcomings. I’ll now fade out of this world for a considerable time according to God’s will. He has chosen for me… that I should retire and follow the way of silence, prayer, fasting, and utter devotion to our Lord… Please, don’t ask where I’m going and where I’ll be. Then, it wouldn’t be possible for me to fulfil what is my lot”. Passias also served as the Chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in the late 1990s, which made him the most powerful member of all of that group’s American priests.

This is a “third-rail” story… as it’s a sexual perversion item from the secretive and sometimes odd Ephramite group. Trust me… my Cabinet is divided on this… both pro and con… both very vehement. Therefore, ANYTHING that I say shall probably piss off one or the other camp (or both!)… however… I feel that the truth must come out. Firstly, I’ve not heard anything nasty on Elder Ephraim himself… but he has followers who I wouldn’t trust in any situation. Some of his followers teach that the laity owe ABSOLUTE OBEDIENCE to the point of sycophancy and obsequiousness to clergy, and that nothing that an elder commands can be disobeyed. I’m not making this shit up. It’s not Orthodox in the least.
How did this happen? I think that Elder Ephraim founded too many monastic houses at once… or, rather, the EP did so. Instead of having grounded people to head the houses, bad eggs crept in due to the hasty foundation of many of these institutions (normally, a mother house would exist for a generation before spinning off daughter houses… here, it was only a matter of years). To be frank, I’m suspicious of “Hyperdox”… just as I’m suspicious of Konvertadox, Evangelodox, and Angliochians. I fear that this will lead to another CSB/HOOMie or Alaska scandal… with the cultish brainwashed on one side and grounded people on the other. Elders aren’t dictators… they propose… they don’t demand. If an “elder” demands” “obedience”, you’re not dealing with an elder, you’re dealing with a satanic fraud.
I’m certain that this will rile quite a few of my friends. It’s not meant personally, but it’s what I hold. Do bite the coin… we live in evil times and there are many frauds afoot. Take care, the foulest flowers of evil flourish in the shadow of the altar…
