You hear much of “Exceptional America”… my only reply is, “Where was the ‘exceptional’ USA at the time when St Vladimir accepted Christianity?” Answer that and you’ll know that America is just another normal country, not “exceptional” in the least. However, all those who claim that America is “exceptional” evidence a juvenile narcissism, childish peevishness, and mental instability that’s truly frightening. God do preserve us all.

Lyube is one of the most-beloved musical ensembles in Russia, and N V Rastorguyev, its frontman, is one of Russia’s most recognisable celebrities. They’re 100 percent patriotic, but rooted in the people (think of Kolya Rastorguyev as a Russian John Mellencamp, and you’d be right).
