1 August PM Sitrep Briefing: DNR Military Command Reported Junta Forces Fired 752 Shells at DNR Territory

Today, the DNR Operational Command stated:

The situation in the DNR remains tense. During the last day, the enemy fired 752 shells at us. Enemy units fired 121 12.2/15.2-cm artillery shells and 631 8.2/12-cm mortar rounds. In addition, in 101 separate incidents, the enemy used BMPs, RPGs, and small arms to fire at us. They shelled Gorlovka, with its suburbs of Zaitsevo and Shirokaya Balka, Yasinovataya, along with Mineralnoe, Veseloe, and Spartak, Luganskoe and Aleksandrovka in Donetsk’s western suburbs, Kuibyshev and Petrovsky Raions of Donetsk, the airport, and Belaya Kamenka, Novolaspa, Leninskoe, Sosnovsky Sosnovsky, Kominternovo, and Sakhanka in the southern DNR. We transferred all data on violations of the Minsk agreements to OSCE and STSKK representatives. Last night, enemy shelling killed a civilian in Yasinovataya and injured another. In addition, they damaged at least 20 houses and residential neighbourhood natural-gas supply networks.

1 August 2016. What DO Christians Do?

Do the good that God sets in front of you. Give a co-worker a lift… help with the dishes… yes… little things like that are more important than “witnessing”. As the late Fr Vladimir at J’ville (the last real elder there… he died in the 80s, I think) used to say, “Dear one, your life is a sermon. Whether it’s good or bad is up to you”. I think that sums it all up. It IS in your hands (it’s NOT just a political slogan)… you can choose to do the actual good in front of you, or you can choose to chase notional will o’ the wisps that you’ll never catch or never really apprehend. I’ve chosen to do what’s in front of me. We’re Christians; that’s what we do…

DNR Military Command Reported Junta Forces Fired 269 Shells at DNR Territory During the Evening and Early Morning Hours

Today, the DNR Operational Command stated:

In the period from 21.00 to 01.00, enemy forces fired artillery and mortars at populated points in the DNR, firing 269 shells at us. Enemy units fired 118 12.2/15.2-cm artillery shells and 151 8.2/12-cm mortar shells. In addition, the enemy used MICVs, RPGs, and small arms to fire at us. They struck Aleksandrovka and Trudovskoy (west of Donetsk), Zaitsevo (north of Gorlovka), the suburbs of Yasinovataya, Sakhanka, Kominternovo, and Leninskoe in Novoazovsky Raion in the southern DNR. Night bombardments on residential areas in Donetsk and Yasinovataya killed one civilian and injured another. In addition, the shelling damaged and damaged at least five residences in Yasinovataya and Donetsk, including an apartment building.
