The Democratic Party is Unwilling and Unable to Reform Itself

The election of establishment insider Tom Perez as DNC chairman confirms yet again what so many have thought:

The Democratic Party is unwilling and unable to reform itself.

After the blatant corruption of the 2016 election where the DNC sabotaged the Bernie Sanders campaign to clear the way for Hillary Clinton, for party élites to select a Clinton-linked insider demonstrates an arrogant refusal to even acknowledge problems that sent the party’s base streaming towards the exits. It’s now clearer than ever that the Democratic Party learned no lessons from its catastrophic defeat. To build an America that works for all of us, we urgently need to build a progressive alternative that’s independent of both war parties and Wall Street. Historically, the kind of systemic change we need only came about when Americans organised strong alternative parties outside the two-party establishment. The Green Party, which practices grassroots democracy and refuses all corporate money, is a welcoming home for Americans fed up with both establishment parties. The #DemExit was only the first step… now, it’s time for a #GreenEnter.

25 February 2017. A Tale of Two Images… Why It Pays to Vet EVERYTHING

Here’s the original image… it’s all over the web…

Here’s the version circulating on the RuNet… it’s very popular there, too

I always vet my images, for I’ve found that often a viral image comes from a different source. That is, many viral images on the RuNet aren’t Russian in origin (as the above image illustrates). In most cases, there’s no intent to deceive or mislead, only a desire to share a striking or funny image. However, vetting is a good habit to get into… otherwise, you could believe the rot published in the NYT or WaPo or WSJ or Fox or CNN… when it’s mostly “fake news” pushing the oligarch POV. I always check American media stories against local media outlets; usually, it doesn’t pass the “smell test” (Rod Dreher and Sofiya Kishkovskaya are prime examples, from both ends of the ideological spectrum). Have a care… there are deceivers out there… most of them are “respectable”… they DO have an agenda (and they all have paymasters with definitely nefarious goals).

Zakharchenko: Federalisation is Now Off the Table

00 A V zakharchenko. 02.05 (1)

_______________________________

DNR Head of State A V Zakharchenko said on a Rossiya-24 broadcast:

In 2014, we were ready to discuss federalisation within the Ukraine, but in 2015-16 and in 2017, there was too much bloodshed for us to think of coming back into the Ukraine. We can discuss common relations as two independent states, relations as good neighbours, and so on. However, neither my confrères nor I want to rejoin the Ukraine. There’s too much hostility. We fight for independence. Our people couldn’t agree with the Maidan propaganda in 2014. If we didn’t resist, they’d break our character, betray our ancestors’ memory, and (most importantly) the result would’ve been the same… they’d slaughter us as those who have a strong faith in Russia. We stand with the Russian World; we’re part of the Russian World.

Earlier, Zakharchenko promised to consider renaming the Donetsk airport after the fallen hero-commanders A S Pavlov (“Motorola”) and M S Tolstykh (“Givi”) and to erect monuments to their memory.

Pushkov Warned About the Dangers of “an Informational Civil War” in the USA Between the Media and the White House

____________________________________

Member of the Federation Council A K Pushkov warned of the dangers of “an Informational Civil War” in the USA. There’s now a situation where the White House doesn’t want to brief a number of journalists, and in response, other media outlets boycott events. On Friday, the White House announced that instead of a regular scheduled briefing, there’d be a “no cameras” briefing from official spokesman Sean Spicer. There’d be no live broadcasting, but everybody assumed that all White House-accredited journalists would be able to attend. However, then, according to CNN, the White House media office only invited selected journalists for the briefing, excluding CNN, the New York Times, Politico, the Los Angeles Times, “and other media”. The AP and Time magazine boycotted the event in protest. Aleksei Konstantinovich wrote in his Twitter microblog:

Aggression in the liberal media against Trump and the response of the administration (refusal of access) is unprecedented. It could lead to an informational civil war in the USA.
