The Liars Fold: Russia Vindicated Once Again

00 Paralympics. 10.09.12. Gold Medal

____________________________________

Surprise, surprise… the International Olympic Committee (IOC) lamented there’s “insufficient” evidence of Russian doping. We live for these moments. As they say in America:

A lie gets halfway to Wal-Mart before the truth has a chance to put its Crocs on.

Yes, it’s finally happened. The truth finally caught up with the World Anti-Doping Agency and its International Olympic Committee pals. The IOC admitted that Richard McLaren’s 2016 report on the alleged use of doping by Russian athletes “isn’t sufficient to bring successful cases”. Christophe de Kepper, director-general and member of the IOC Executive Board said in a letter to the organisation:

At the recent meeting (21 February) held by WADA in Lausanne to “provide assistance to IFs [International Federations] regarding how to analyse and interpret the evidence”, WADA admitted that in many cases the evidence provided may not be sufficient to bring successful cases.

Finally, justice… and just in time to allow all Russian athletes to take part in the Rio games…oh, wait. Based on the first part of McLaren’s report published on 18 June 2016, which presented the results of his investigation into alleged doping at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games, WADA recommended that the IOC, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), and all international sporting federations exclude Russia from their competitions. Consequently, the IOC banned the entire Russian Paralympian team from the Rio games. We could spend all day dissecting the McLaren report, but it’s clear that the IOC has already accepted reality… it’s a bad, bad, bad, poorly done politically motivated hit job. If you want the details, you can read this or this or this. Mark Chapman nailed it back in August:

Bullshit. From start to finish. No western athlete would have to put up with a ban on competing just because he or she was American or Canadian or Dutch, and he or she would damned sure not be told to accept a ban where he or she had not even seen the evidence against him or her because it was secret. The McLaren Report doesn’t prove anything it purports to prove, and it won’t stand up to a challenge.

Bingo.

On Thursday, citing MVD sources, Izvestiya reported that Moscow police arrested a US citizen of Ukrainian origin who attacked a Moscow resident in the stairwell of an apartment house. Police reported the incident to the US Embassy. A local resident called the police from 5 Monetchikovsky Pereulok in the centre of Moscow, saying that two men were fighting in the doorway. One was an intoxicated foreigner who took a piece of rebar and hit the Muscovite on the hands and feet. Police detained the intruder, but the American fell ill. They sent him to hospital with suspected alcohol poisoning.

Pentagon Chieftain Advised to Learn Russian History

Deputy Chairman of the Gosduma Committee on Defence Yu N Shvytkin advised Pentagon head James Mattis to learn Russian history before making statements about the need to speak with Moscow from “a position of strength”. He told RT:

We’ll never allow anyone to talk to our country from “a position of strength”. I’d advise [Mattis] to remember the lessons of history, and specifically become acquainted with Russian history.

Earlier, the Pentagon chieftain told a meeting of NATO Defence Ministers that the USA is committed to restoring relations with Russia, but are only ready to talk from a position of strength. Later, Defence Minister S K Shoigu said that Moscow is still waiting for an explanation from the Pentagon about such statements.

Yuri Nikolayevich is a former serving officer in both the DVD and MVD. In short, he’s qualified to upbraid the loudmouth Mattis. It seems that the former Marine is just another “perfumed prince”…

Minoborony Rossii Told Pentagon Shill to “Temper His Zeal”

00-russia-general-igor-konashenkov-250217

____________________________________

Minoborony Rossii spokesman Major-General I Ye Konashenkov told US Defence Department shill Peter Cook to “temper his zeal”. Konashenkov’s commentary appeared on an official video posted on YouTube. At a Minoborony media briefing on a Russian-American agreement on a forthcoming ceasefire in Syria, he said:

A few days ago, for some reason, Mr Cook said that a ceasefire in Syria would be a test for the Russian authorities. I advise Mr Cook to temper his zeal and focus on activities related to the organisation that he represents, that is, the Pentagon. Unlike his predecessors, he doesn’t have knowledge of military affairs, so I’m sure that’s difficult for him. Therefore, he seeks to compensate for his deficiencies but only comes out with shrill howlers. He should be reasonable… yes, and professional.

According to published statements released on Monday, on 27 February, a joint US-Russian agreement stipulates a ceasefire between government forces and armed opposition groups in Syria. However, attacks on ISIS, al-Nusra, and other parties recognised as terrorist entities by the UN will continue.

General Konashenkov used the word ляпами, which is rather colloquial, so I tried to capture the flavour of that in my Englishing of his commentary. Cook is a clueless journalist with NO MILITARY EXPERIENCE WHATSOEVER. He’s an Obama holdover. Igor Yevgenyevich skewered him, well and truly. It shows you the difference between the American and Russian approaches… the Russians appoint people with real relevant knowledge… the Americans appoint blowsy blowhards with no relevant experience (but who look good on camera).

Kudos to Igor Yevgenyevich… it shows you what sort of people that the Yanks put into responsible positions. They’re talking from “a position of strength?” I think not…
