Wisdom from the Great Metropolitan Antony Khrapovitsky

________________________

A student (who later became Metropolitan of North America) asked Metropolitan Antony Khrapovitsky about writing a book. Metropolitan Antony advised him, “Write for ordinary people. They’ll read to learn. Academics only read to criticise”.

Now, that’s the ticket… write for those who’d benefit from your words, not those who’d pick it apart, for no good reason, to inflate their egos. That sounds like the konvertsy “experts” who bloviate on the web, doesn’t it? As for me, I’ve benefitted from the good example and the good sense shown by the likes of Metropolitan Antony Khrapovitsky and Archbishop Antony Bartoshevich (arguably, the best hierarchs the ROCOR ever had). Be careful with those who follow this-or-that guru… you can’t talk reasonably with such sorts and all that it does is to rile you to no good end. Learn from the REAL lights of the Church and ignore the rest. Life is too short for anything else…
