20 October 2017. The Kerch Bridge is Going Up…

________________________

The above image is of the new Kerch Strait Bridge linking the Crimea to the rest of the Russian Federation. It’s going forward and at full-speed. American sanctions haven’t harmed Russia. They’ve merely sped up the import substitution programme. Russian industry, agriculture, and commercial enterprises stepped up and replaced Western imports. The Americans tried to hobble Russia by having their Ukrainian puppets join the sanctions. All that did was to focus Russian energies. Now, Russia has replacements for everything once built in the Ukraine. The leading light in this was Deputy Chairman of the Government D O Rogozin, the defence industry head. He refused to give in. He gave industry goals and industry met them. In short, the American sanctions didn’t hurt Russia. They helped it!

Russia, China, and Iran form a homogenous contiguous economic bloc linked by landlines… that is, the US Navy can’t interdict them. That’s why the Americans hate the Chinese Silk Road initiative. This overland route would be invulnerable to US Navy pressure. The USN is the only truly strong part of the American forces (like Britain before it, the USA is a sea power, relatively weak in its land/air forces). As naval forces are inherently expensive to build, maintain, and operate, the USA can’t match Russia, China, or even Iran in ground and air forces. The USA simply doesn’t have the money. It must find the funds for a world-beating navy, which means that its army and air force must take what’s left. The USN is primarily responsible for the defence of the American heartland (as the Royal Navy was for Britain’s defence). The USA’s army and air force don’t protect the homeland… that’s always been a naval responsibility. Unlike Russia, China, and Iran, which must maintain large ground forces for homeland defence, the USA (with weak neighbours to the north and south, and oceans to the east and west, as Bismarck noted) must maintain a large naval force to defend itself and to control the sea lanes tying together the Anglosphere and its allies.

Besides that, Russia isn’t very vulnerable from the World Ocean. Most of the Russian coastline faces the Arctic (where naval operations would be extraordinarily difficult)… most of the rest lies in the confined waters of the Baltic and Black Seas. The only place where Russia faces the World Ocean is in the Pacific. Just as Russia poses no real threat to the USA, the USA doesn’t have a strategic advantage over Russia either. It can blockade the Russian Navy in home waters, but the Russian fleet has a different purpose than the USN. The USN is a bluewater high-seas control force. The Russian fleet has the tasks of coastal defence, protection of the two “fortress areas” for SLBM forces, and cooperation with the army. They’re two very different forces.

The Americans are simply not hurting their opponent. However, they ARE goading the bear. All that does is to make him vigilant…

20 October 2017. In Stalin’s GULag, You Had a Sentence… In Gitmo, You Don’t

___________________________

During the Stalin years, if a troika sentenced you to a sentence in a labour camp, it was for a set number of years. When your sentence was up, they set you free. They didn’t just keep people locked up because they were “dangerous”. If your sentence was up, it was up. True, many people served more than one sentence. The Americans count the total number of sentences, not people, which inflates the number of those imprisoned. However, you got a set sentence. That was the Stalinist USSR.

In Gitmo, there are no sentences. The Americans put people there indefinitely. There’s no court… not even the American equivalent of a troika. There’s no set sentence. You must stay behind the wire for a long as it pleases the Anglo toddlers. There are those who’ve sat in Gitmo since the inception of this concentration camp in 2001. Therefore, Gitmo is worse than the GULag ever was. America is WORSE than Stalin ever was. It doesn’t even put a legal veneer on its repression. It does put a different face on Potapov’s rants, doesn’t it? As a high middle-level official in a CIA front, he knew of this evil. Knowing his Far Right politics, he probably applauded it.

There are people worse than I V Stalin…

20 October 2017. You Can’t Pull Words Out of a Song!

________________________

“You can’t pull words out of a song!” That’s an old Russian saying. That is, you can’t change the past. It’s what it is, whether you liked what happened or not. Should we remove statues of Robert E Lee or Jefferson Davis? I think that’s far deeper than what many believe it to be, both “liberal” and “conservative”. It’s not merely racism. That’s an evasion. Yes… racism was deep in the Confederate States of America. It lost its bid for national independence because it wouldn’t abandon human bondage. That’s all that the Brits wanted. If the secessionists had abolished slavery, the Royal Navy would’ve escorted British-flag ships into Southern ports… “free trade” was their mantra, after all.

Yet… racism wasn’t the only trope in the Confederacy. You demean them by defining them solely as such. Another point of contention, one still unresolved at present, I might add, was the relationship of the constituent states to the federal government. Still another was the cultural difference between the Southern and Northern states (a difference that still exists… a difference as deep as that between Prussians and Austrians). It was like the Whites in the Russian Civil War. Yes… they were for an Upper Middle Class dictatorship over all other classes (which was the primary reason for their failure), but that wasn’t the end-all and be-all of their movement.

American history is more than just slavery and the war against the Native population. Yes… both these themes are there and both are seminal, both are a blot on the national consciousness, but they’re not the entirety of the story. I’d be careful about removing statues. Today, it’s THEIR statues. Tomorrow, it’ll be YOURS. Do think on that…

20 October 2017. “Russian Faith” Bombs Again! Claims Putin is a “Secret Monk”

Here’s something not found on Russian Faith… Kostya Kinchyov (the frontman of Alisa) is a tight bro with HH… I thought that you’d like to know that…

________________________

Russian Faith is a rum go all the way ‘round. It’s one of the most badly-produced and sloppily–researched websites out there. First, they refused to mention that M T Kalashnikov was a lifelong and dedicated communist (that’s no contradiction of his Christian faith). Secondly, they posted a badly-written piece on Tsar St Nikolai II Aleksandrovich (it was disgusting hagiography of the worst sort… in the worst Platina tradition). Now, they’re claiming that V V Putin is a secret monk! I shit you not! These people are cranks! They’re crazies.

Russian Faith is mostly a rehash of Shevkunov’s unofficial website. That gives you its measure. It can be correct… but much is just rightwing blather. It’s trash put up by ignoramuses such as Damick. That tells you its worth, doesn’t it? It simply doesn’t pass the smell test. It’s a website pushing Far Right fallacies. People who love the Truth, who love the Church, and who love God will ignore this website from now on. That’s what I’m going to do in any case.
