20 October 2017. A Point to Ponder…

I saw the following in The Forward:

I spent my life mentored by the strongest, most caring, welcoming, accepting, and intelligent people. These mentors showed me what it means to love my neighbour as myself, to cherish my life as a gift, and to walk proudly in the person I’ve become. They taught me to embrace the religious freedom that I’m blessed to have, to recognise that it’s easy to take it for granted, and to use my voice when there is injustice in the world. We’re all created in God’s image, and we should all be treated as the living embodiment of God’s Will that we are.

This is a good statement of why many of us hate and oppose “conservatism”. Our cause doesn’t embrace hate, as “conservatism” does. It embraces love… a love of humanity… a love of justice… a love of freedom… the love of God. Bear this in mind when you hear “conservatives” bloviate about being “uncompromising”. They place the Letter of the Law above the salvation of individuals. Christ and His Church do seem to have a different view of the matter…
