Russia beat the Yanks three times so far on home ground… South Ossetia in 2008, the Crimea in 2014, and the Donetsk airport the following year. The last one was particularly galling as the Donetsk homeboys and the Cossacks trashed US special oppers posing as mercs. Anglos are never as dangerous as when someone beats them. They’re sore losers and they don’t take it well. They’re lusting for revenge to this slight to their pride and arrogance. The Deep State is going apeshit as all of their projects tank and fail. We’re in freefall. God do help us.
Trump is part of the “swamp” he promised to drain. We’re definitely in trouble, and it seems like some very powerful people are hell-bent on nuclear war. Israel fired missiles on Syrian troops last night. I have no idea how Russia will respond to that. Trump isn’t as important as he thinks he is. He’s like Hillary, rich, but an outsider. He’s not a Whitney, Gardiner, or Rockefeller. Trump’s nothing but their sockpuppet. He’s a servant, albeit a rich one, but still their servant. However, he isn’t innocent. He’s caused a lot of harm and pain. “Just following orders” didn’t work at Nürnberg after World War II and it doesn’t work for Trump now. Nevertheless, he isn’t the one giving the orders. What’s scary is that the plans of his bosses are going awry and they’re striking out blindly. That’s much more dangerous than anything planned. They seem to be making it up as they go.
It all seems like a very bad replay of August 1914 staged by petty provincial players…

S M Solovyov was one of the most famous Russian historians. His most influential work was History of Russia from the Earliest Times. Ironically, he’s almost unknown in the West, where he’s only known as the father of V S Solovyov.
