There’s much brouhaha over “hacked” voting machines in the USA. Let’s keep it simple. Let’s do what the Europeans do… use paper ballots deposited in clear boxes. The officials carry in the empty clear boxes under observation, and poll-watchers keep an eye on them the entire time of the election. No… it doesn’t eliminate fraud, but it sure does minimise it. All of Europe uses this system… including Russia and Belarus. To think that Russia and Belarus use a more-honest and more-transparent system than the “exceptional” and “indispensable” USA… oh, the humanity!

The International Paralympic Committee is furious! The Belarusians aren’t afraid of them; they carried the Russian flag at the Paralympic opening ceremony! The Belarusian team came to the parade of national teams at the Paralympic Games opening ceremony in Rio de Janeiro with the Russian tricolour. Can you believe that the International Paralympic Committee has already launched an investigation into the incident? One of the Belarusian team-members carried the Russian flag. They carried the flag about a quarter of the way around the stadium before they took it away. The IPC threatened athletes who were going to carry the Russian flag with severe punishment. The Belarusian action has already caused a reaction in the International Paralympic Committee, other than that, no one else condemned it. Thank you, Belarusians! You showed that old-school Russian character!

Who woulda thunk it? The creator of this massive monster truck was… a woman! Mirabile dictu! What’ll that do to all those guys who hang those goofy “balls” on their trucks?

This truck can carry 1.5 tonnes payload in its body and a similar amount in a trailer cross-country. To speak roughly, it can carry twice that amount on a modern metalled (“paved”) road. Thus, it can carry more than a HMMVW… and is far more capable of handling extreme terrain and conditions. Do recall the story about the silver flea and the humble Russian smith…
