27 September 2014. “Thanks, But No Thanks”… OCA Rains on EP-Sponsored “Canonical Restructuring” Parade

00 Why they They Talk the Talk... and Don't Walk the Walk. 15.09.12______________________________

We’ve all heard the wind from the so-called “Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America”. This group is nothing but an EP-sponsored “talk-shop”. A notional “Proposal for Canonical Administrative Restructuring” surfaced from this social networking group (for such is what it is)… the EP groups are for it, everyone else is underwhelmed and less than enthusiastic about it… even the OCA! Read this for the OCA response to it… let’s boil it down to a sentence… “No way, no how, no Bart in our Town”. I think that the real reason the Centre shitcanned Fatso (for he did lose the Mandate of Heaven, no doubt on that score) is that they weren’t sure on how he’d react in re Bart and his pretensions to being the “Orthodox Pope”. Mollard is much more malleable and controllable… as the Centre showed by its showering of awards upon his party when he made his ad limina visit (for that is what it was, kids)… something that it NEVER did for Fatso and his drooling pack of konvertsy admirers. As a Cabineteer wrote me:

Sounds like the OCA is finished…. still insisting that its autocephaly is relevant…

I quite agree, but expect the OCA to linger on life-support for at least two more years, for it suits the Centre’s purposes. I believe that the Centre is using the OCA (and the pliable Mollard) to fuck up Bart’s planned Dixie Fry in 2016. You see, the Centre, Serbia, Poland, Czechia/Slovakia, and Bulgaria will insist that the OCA receive a seat at the “all-Orthodox Sobor” as a full discrete independent voting member. Bart won’t give in on that point… that’s clear. It’s also clear that HH will use this to scupper the assembly… and probably convene a Sobor of his own, maybe, at the newly refurbished Novy Ierusalime Monastery. HH wants to force Bart to come out openly as a Vatican puppet… and the OCA is one of his “cards” to make him do so. That is, the OCA has usefulness for the Centre now, and up until 2016. After the scuttling of the “all-Orthodox Sobor”, all bets are off. None of the OCA sorts have ANY cred at the Centre. By the way, Fatso and Dickie Wood had no real cred or tread at the Centre… if they had, firstly, Fatso would still be in charge and, secondly, Dickie wouldn’t be suspended. Both were pals of Tikhon Shevkunov, quite another thing entirely. For instance, Dickie’s getting no support from any real powers like Varsonofy Sudakov or V A Chaplin. The most that he’s getting is posts on questionable sites such as Portal-Credo and posts on oligarch-friendly venues (as Tikhon Shevkunov is part of M A Gelman‘s circle at the Vanil Restoran). Fatso has no real support at the Centre at all… if he did, his petition to enter the ROCOR would’ve been a done deal, and it wasn’t.

Besides, the status quo suits most normal people in the OCA quite well… as one told me:

Mollard’s our choice… no, he isn’t competent… no, he isn’t a leader… no, he isn’t inspiring. But he’s our choice… we need peace, and that’s that, as you say. Mollard won’t rock the boat and he’ll give us peace. Nothing else matters at this point. In any case, we had to stop Dahulich. As I said, Mollard’s our guy, not because we like him, but because he’s going to leave us alone.

That says it all… however, isn’t the LACK of news refreshing? Remember the old saying, “Happy is the land that has no history”… indeed…

I’m constantly learning… boy, I’ve learned much in the past seven years… what I see doesn’t speak well for the long-term survival of the OCA… however, in the near-term, it’s a done deal, and that’s that.

9 August 2014. AsiaNews Launches Black Propaganda Offensive Against Orthodox Patriots in Novorossiya and Against Holy Rus

00 Here's to You, AsiaNews! 09.08.14

******

00 Uniate fascists. 09.09.14

THIS is what AsiaNews supports… and the UGKTs is SILENT… fancy that…

______________________________

AsiaNews is a reliable Vatican mouthpiece spewing out their latest spin on events. Well, kids, they’ve truly gone too far lately. They’ve launched a black propaganda offensive. Read this, this, and this. READ THEM! READ THEM ALL! READ THEM TWICE TO LET THE LYING SHIT SINK IN!

The Roman Curia isn’t our friend. I’m disappointed in Francisco… in political and social views, he’s completely in sync with us… in his perverse encouragement of the Unia, he’s our deadly and implacable foe. Will the real Francisco Bergoglio please stand up? Rome intends to knife us, not only in the back, but frontally, as well. Do NOT take this out on local RCs. They had nothing to do with it, hell, most of them aren’t even aware of what the Curia does in their names. They’re innocent… cut ‘em some slack.

Note how in the first item insinuates that the MP is instigating religious hatred… hey, we didn’t say, “Knife the Khokholi!” NOT AT ALL! However, the UGKTs fascists DID say, “Knife the Moskali!” we haven’t burned any of their churches, killed any of their priests, or brutalised any of their believers. However, as the Uniate enormities pile up, resentment amongst Orthodox is growing. If the Uniates don’t leave Novorossiya NOW and issue repentance and compensation for their war crimes, trust me, “revengers” will arise in Novorossiya… they’d be like the Red Army at the end of the VOV. When they crossed the German border, they took it out on innocent Germans. Was it right? NO, a thousand times NO! However, I understand why there was revenge taken in hot blood. The same applies here. If the Galician Uniates don’t go back to their backwoods homeland, well, they shouldn’t be surprised if Russians, real Ukrainians, Rusins, and Magyars take it out on them… they’ve had a bellyful of specious and racist Galician Uniate “Consciousness” for 23 years! I’m not approving it… I’m simply reporting what I’m seeing…

The second piece is rather more confused, but it’s anti-Russian to the bone, and snarkily anti-Orthodox. It only makes sense if one believes that the Unia is legitimate… which it isn’t. Yes, there are many “innocents” caught up in the Unia, but it isn’t “Orthodoxy in Union with the See of Rome”… that’s oxymoronic and inherently contradictory. Either one is Orthodox or one is Catholic, and that’s that.

However, the third piece is the sneakiest… it mostly tries to push its point by NOT quoting V A Chaplin. AsiaNews didn’t quote:

  • Russian people always knew the reasonable limits of consumption; since they realised what the limits were, they were far happier than those who endlessly chased consumption for the sake of consumption and growth for the sake of growth.
  • In these circumstances, we need to stop chasing Western standards of consumption… they’re so exaggerated that if everybody on the planet tried to follow them, half of the people couldn’t survive.
  • It’d be strange if Russia didn’t answer the sanctions, which I see as discriminatory, and the answer, I think, would prove useful for our economy, particularly for agriculture.
  • Russia can produce food of the highest quality; I’d say that the policy of favouring international agribusiness networks in recent years was deeply wrong.
  • On this, the Gospel very clearly says, For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also(Gospel according to St Luke 12.34). In the next few months, we’ll have to keep these words in mind more and more.

Note well that AsiaNews didn’t give you the last quote… I believe that their article was a smear on Vsevolod Anatolyevich… it was a sneaky “cherry-picking” of what he said.

AsiaNews was particularly vile this weekend. Take heart… it means that their fascist Uniate protégés are in the deep kimchi. What do they know that we don’t? Hmm…

Fr Vsevolod Chaplin Welcomed Russian Food Sanctions saying that to be “Content with a Modest Share” Wouldn’t Hurt

00 Pelmeni. Russian food. 26.06.13

______________________________

Russian food sanctions, imposing a ban on the import of a range of products from Western countries, brought forth approval from Archpriest V A Chaplin, the Chairman of the MP Synodal Department for the Coordination of Church and Society (OVTsO). He said that the ban on food imports would help Russians “to stop chasing Western standards of consumption”, which Russia can counter with visions of a social system “based on a higher truth”. Fr Vsevolod thought that the sanctions would be difficult for Russians, but he said, “We need to learn moderation, self-restraint, sufficiency in consumption, the ability to be content with a modest share. Russian people always knew the reasonable limits of consumption; since they realised what the limits were, they were far happier than those who endlessly chased consumption for the sake of consumption and growth for the sake of growth”.

He also believed that the debate on whether we’d put foreign or Russian products on our table would show us how deeply entrenched the cult of consumption is in Russian society, saying, “In these circumstances, we need to stop chasing Western standards of consumption… they’re so exaggerated that if everybody on the planet tried to follow them, half of the people couldn’t survive”. Fr Vsevolod called on VIPs in Russia to change their lifestyle, perhaps, remembering D A Medvedev’s criticism of Russian oligarchs in September 2013, when he said, “They should stop sitting on two chairs”, slamming them aping Western ways and living outside the country. Fr Vsevolod is sure that the sanctions wouldn’t only improve the Russian moral character, but it’d also contribute to the growth of the national economy as a whole, noting, “It’d be strange if Russia didn’t answer the sanctions, which I see as discriminatory, and the answer, I think, would prove useful for our economy, particularly for agriculture”. He thinks that the ban would help domestic farmers, who faced discriminatory regulation before the sanctions, observing, “Russia can produce food of the highest quality; I’d say that the policy of favouring of international agribusiness networks in recent years was deeply wrong”.

In conclusion, Fr Vsevolod submitted that the topic of Slavophiles and Westernisers was once again gaining momentum, “It’s necessary for us to make a final choice… the West or Russia… shall our nation remain independent and free in future, or, will we listen to the rants of Washington, Brussels, and Wall Street, but not to the voice of our countrymen?” He even found a “very clear” quote from the Gospel on the topic, “On this, the Gospel very clearly says, For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also (Gospel according to St Luke 12.34). In the next few months we’ll have to keep these words in mind more and more”.

It’s worth noting that the explicit statements of V A Chaplin could contain encouragement of nationalist ideas. In his column on Slon.ru, journalist I F Davydov concluded, “In recent days, events brought out a contender for a national idea, even though this isn’t the first year that we’ve looked for it, nor have we found it yet. On the surface, it seems rather simple. It’s a piece of cake, really… Russians should live poorly. In the most ordinary, everyday, mundane sense… that’s bad! No frills and no frou-frou… no comfort and no amenities… but on the other hand… we understand that it isn’t just a matter of living poorly, for we could give the bird to Europe and we could moon America”.

Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin: “We Have No Future if We Allow Them to Divide Us and to Oppose Each Other”

Lately, some liars in Western media sources, abetted by unscrupulous “Orthodox” elements in the West, insinuated that HH doesn’t support the rejoining of the Crimea to Russia, and that he opposes President Vladimir Putin. Fr Vsevolod is the closest advisor to HH, and he often speaks for him on sensitive topics. Once you’ve read what’s below, you’ll know that what Radio Liberty and Sophia Kishkovsky are spouting is dezinformatsiya of the first order. However, don’t get too hot about them… they’re only doing what their paymasters demand of them… low sorts will always be with us, no?

The truth will set you free. Check out what Fr Vsevolod says…

Undoubtedly, the events in the Ukraine cause pain and anxiety to many of our believers, not to mention many Orthodox people around the world. To put it mildly, one saw bloodshed and there were untoward actions against canonical Orthodox communities. The situation remains volatile. In many places, one hears anti-Russian diatribes and anti-Russian slogans. There was a great deal of that in the last few days. However, now, as we take a more in-depth look at the situation, one sees fewer grounds for contentment and complacency every day. The future of the entire Orthodox civilisation is in jeopardy; what’s at stake is its ideological and social identity, which affects its ability to decide its own path, both in the context of life in Europe and in the world at large.

On the one hand, it’s good to note that Orthodox bishops, clergy, and believers continue to show clearly their allegiance to the Orthodox Weltanschauung and lifestyle. Immediately after receiving disturbing news, the people came to those monasteries and churches endangered by events. People aren’t afraid to talk about their hopes. Not accidentally, in his speech of 21 February, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill thanked “those members of the Ukrainian episcopate and clergy who… despite the clamour from every side… found the strength to consistently urge peace and brotherly love upon those in conflict, who firmly stood behind the right of Ukrainians to live in harmony in all faith and piety, who demanded that we preserve the Ukraine’s traditional moral and religious values, the source of which was the baptismal font of Kievan Rus, which determined the civilisational development of the peoples of Holy Rus”.

On 26 February, the Supreme Church Council, headed by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias, also appealed “to all Orthodox Christians in the Ukraine, regardless of their political stance, to stand up to prevent attacks on [Orthodox holy places]”. It expressed gratitude to those “who stood up to protect churches and monasteries, to prevent their desecration, and to oppose those who wanted to tear away from the true Church”. Indeed, often, Orthodox believers showed their commitment in standing up for the faith, for the Church, for their churches and holy places.

However, on the other hand, I’m convinced that what faces us today calls for a much more organised, meaningful, and unified response. We can’t embody the ethos of the Orthodox civilisation if another bloc takes over chunks of its territory, a bloc contrary to our political, ideological, and moral ideals. We have no future if we allow them to divide us and to oppose each other. We’d betray the memory of our ancestors and our great saints if we reconciled with those who allowed the spiritual enslavement of any of the peoples of our civilisation, if we showed shallow lukewarm apathy, if we lived according to the principle “his house is on the other side of the fence”, if we preferred our personal everyday comfort to those great goals laid before the Orthodox world… the transformation of our lives and the lives of all mankind through the law of Christ.

Due to the behaviour in the recent events of some of the Ukrainian and Russian élites, I’d remind everyone of these significant words from the Gospel, Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also (Gospel according to St Matthew 6.21). These words couldn’t be more relevant today. Many have their treasure… both material and spiritual… in foreign parts. As soon as there’s a real danger of serious dispute with the West, they have a visceral fear of losing their treasure, which they then wrap up in seemingly reasonable political, legal, and even twisted theological arguments. However, he who fears, always loses. Whoever retreats, loses everything. Anyone who negotiates primarily on Western terms, which gradually become ever more onerous, will suffer defeat; they’d destroy them, leaving them no ability to set any conditions or even rely on the West’s charity. History shows what happened to those leaders who tried the path of endless concessions.

Today, we should respect the choices of the people who make up Ukrainian society, including supporters of the Western orientation. Nobody should declare this choice impossible or try to force them to change. However, it’s also true that one can’t rule out as an alternative for the country’s future the choice of tens of millions of people, who identify themselves as Orthodox, who believe in Orthodox civilisation, who say that Kiev, Pochaev, Kharkov, Odessa, Kherson, and Sevastopol are significant Orthodox centres. if these people can’t take part in the future of the Ukraine, if there’s no possibility for them to build their lives according to their outlook in their country, as well as throughout Eastern Europe, we won’t have a truly just peace in the world.

One can’t achieve true peace through the brutal suppression of others. Moreover, of course, God and history will punish us severely if we allow others to transform the Ukrainian people into a people hostile to the Russian people and hostile to the Orthodox world, if we allowed others to turn them into a people enslaved by external forces, Western or Eastern. Such a future is unworthy of the Ukrainian people… wise, faithful, of strong character, who never bowed down to enslavers… they’re capable of being one of the main actors in our universal Orthodox civilisation, both in Europe and throughout the world.
