6 April 2014. NASA Claims It’s Cutting ALL Ties With Russia…

00 Baikonur rocket launch. Russian. 06.04.14

American cosmonauts can’t get into space except on Russian spacecraft… full stop. NASA can’t get cosmonauts into space on its own as the Republican Party blew money that should’ve gone on space research for aggressive wars abroad and massive tax reduction giveaways to the Affluent Effluent. Ergo, NASA’s statement is an utter crock o’ shit with no teeth to it at all. Russia can support a robust space programme… the USA can’t because it’s wasting the money on useless wars in foreign parts and coddling the McMansion set (which pleases Grover Norquist just fine). Reflect on that when you vote this November.

14 October 2014. Only in Russia! If You Wanna Fly Into Space… You Gotta Go to Russia!

00 European Space Agency cosmonaut Samantha Cristoforetti. Star City RUSSIA. 14.10.13

European Space Agency cosmonaut Samantha Cristoforetti prepares for a training exercise in a centrifuge at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Zvyozdny Gorodok in Moscow Oblast. Cristoforetti is scheduled to be a part of a mission to the International Space Station in November 2014. The USA has to shoot its cosmonauts into space from Baikonur, because the USA wasted its space exploration dollars on pointless wars of aggression on the Afro-Eurasian mainland and shameless tax giveaways to the Affluent Effluent (Wet Willy Romney deserved to be bustin’ rocks for tax evasion, not running for US President… sheesh!). You see, there’s a cost to unpatriotic Me-First Republican obstructionism. American cosmonauts have to go to Russia to fly into space. Am I the only person to see something wrong with that picture? If you support the Republican Party, you oppose America’s independent role in space… all so that some lazy investor can go to the country club and buy a cheesy poorly-made McMansion (unerneath the glitzy exterior is nothing but a cheap plyboard frame on a concrete slab built by unskilled labour… a disaster in the making… an apt metaphor for Republican greed and stuidity). What a buncha maroons!

00 RIA-Novosti Infographics. Technical Specifications of the Proton-M Carrier Rocket. 2013

______________________________

On 2 July, a Proton-M transport rocket, launched from the Baikonur Cosmodromefailed a minute after lift-off. Over the past two and a half years, this is the seventh failed Russian space launch. See our infographic for the specifications of the Proton-M rocket. The Proton-M heavy-duty Launch Vehicle (LV) is designed to launch an unmanned spacecraft into Earth orbit and then into space. The Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Centre developed the vehicle, which Roskosmos uses to launch Russian and foreign government and commercial spacecraft. Proton-M is the workhorse of the Russian space programme; at present, it’s carrying the GLONASS satellite system and Ekpress communications satellites, which will provide coverage all over Russia. Read more >> For now, Proton-M launches are on hold, after two or three days, it’ll be clear what happened to the rocket. Indeed, it’s a fairly straightforward and well-proven piece of equipment. A space programme source said, “It’s clear that it wasn’t a glitch with the rocket; it was human error”.

Lift off! Ura! Isn’t it odd how the arrogant and tight-arsed Americans have to bum rides with us backward and retrograde Russians? You’d think that all of their boasts are hubristical lies! Hmm… one hopes that the Russian crew taught the American how to go “na troikh” (“three on a bottle”)… there are three of them, after all…

The Soyuz TMA-06M was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome with a new ISS crew. Cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky (Roscosmos), Yevgeni Tarelkin (Roscosmos), and Kevin Ford (NASA) went to into near-Earth orbit. The docking of the Soyuz with the ISS happened on 25 October. For Russians Novitsky and Tarelkin, it’s the first flight into space, whilst Ford is on his second mission. The new crew shall stay at the ISS for 148 days. They will unload four Progress transport craft and one European ATV-4 craft. The crew of the 33rd expedition doesn’t plan to have any spacewalks.
