7 January 2018. Here’s How HH Spent Christmas… With the Homeless

________________________

HH spent Christmas as he always spends major feasts… with the lowly and hurting of this world. Next to him is the inimitable Bishop Panteleimon Shatov, the MP tsar for social justice and social action. Do note that loudmouths such as Shevkunov, Alfeyev, Potapov, and Paffhausen don’t do likewise. After, all there are oligarchs, stockbrokers, real-estate developers, and biznessmen to minister to! Why, even the thought of associating with such low-lifes…

This is why HH is the bomb and why the people I just named are posturing wussies. When you have done this to the least of these, my brethren… HH shows the way, as always.

9 December 2016. A Point for Priests to Ponder from Bishop Panteleimon Shatov

To teach people to love, they need an example. First of all, love is caring and being concerned about your spiritual children. Let them know that you’re always there for them… give them your phone number, let them know when you’re at the church building, let them know that you’re ready to talk to them. Without this, it’s impossible to teach them to love. If you’re going to love them and care for them, you must do this… for they won’t learn love if you don’t. … You can also involve the active laity… for example, teach them how to greet people on the Great Feasts, teach them how to talk to others about the church and about prayer, and have them publicise parish activities. It’s imperative that priests interact with unchurched people. Many such people have good hearts; they want to engage do good works… engage them in volunteer activities. For many people, volunteering can lead to becoming more churched.

Bishop Panteleimon Shatov of Orekhovo-Zuevo

Head, MP Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service (OTsBSS)

Editor:

Bishop Panteleimon is the Mother Church’s “tsar” of social service and social justice. He’s a former parish priest (he’s a widower with grown children), so he knows from hard experience what works and what doesn’t “out there”. He’s one of my fave bishops… he’s always out there doing what he should; he’s always out there serving the people. If anyone “gives an example” and is an exemplar, he does and he is. People like Vladyki Panteleimon keep me in the Church after the latest antics of Farley, Whiteford, Trenham, et al. Bishop Panteleimon is the REAL Church… those named (and those like them) aren’t. Keep it focused and you’ll keep it together.

6 May 2016. HH Spent Easter at the Дом для мамы (Dom dlya Mamy: House for Mommies)

HH spent Easter at a home for unwed mothers with the inimitable Bishop Panteleimon Shatov. HH doesn’t mouth pro-life… he does pro-life. He doesn’t wave placards… he aids unwed mothers. That’s a lesson for all of us, but especially for a certain loud individual claiming to found a “monastery” in the DC burbs. He’d do better to go to an established house and raise money for unwed mothers… that’d wipe away many of his accumulated sins against believers and clergy…

14 April 2016. Join the Mother Church to “Give the Gift of Joy This Easter”

You must learn to love… then, in response to your love, other people will echo it.

Bishop Panteleimon Shatov

head of the MP Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service (OTsBSS)

The Mother Church is holding a campaign, “Give the Gift of Joy this Easter… they’re raising money to buy Easter gifts for the needy… the homeless, the housebound, the disabled, the elderly, orphans, the poor… of course, this is the doing of the inimitable and indefatigable Bishop Panteleimon Shatov. Is your parish doing likewise? You have a little over two weeks to do something… that’s not chopped liver. You can help create some joy this Easter… we’re Christians; that’s what we do!

BMD

Addendum:

What I mean is that we have time to do things locally to help those about us… that’s what Bishop Panteleimon is doing.. it’s what we should be doing. We have two weeks to identify those in need, collect money, buy items, and give gifts on Easter. It’s our Christian duty… we can’t sit down and feast bounteously until we go forth and aid those who need it. Our Lord did ask, “Who went away justified?” Yes… who?
