23 April 2017. Benny Ratz Still Suckin’ Down the Sudz at Age 90

____________________________________

Here’s proof that Benedict XVI Ratzinger isn’t only hale n’ hearty, he still enjoys a good litre of brewski. Here, he greets a delegation from his native Bavaria on his birthday. Ninety-years-old and still goin’ strong… will he reach 100? Will he outlive Franky Bag o’ Donuts? Who knows? Maybe, Fr Guido Sarducci has the inside intel (“Finda the Pope in the Pizza”)…

8 December 2016. Pravoslavie FUCKS UP ROYALLY… AGAIN! Bad Translation from the Platina Nutters, Yet Again

01 Clown behind the wheel

____________________________________

Shevkunov strikes again! That is, he hands over translation of material to dumbass rightwing Amerikantsy converts, with predictable results (he likes sending stuff to the Platina nutters… the Rose crowd or to rightwing bozos like Jesse Dominick). His handling of HH’s comments on same-sex marriage and homosexual orientation were interesting… in the sense that Chinese people mean when they wish you, “May you live in interesting times”. First, we have the Russian original posted on patriarchia.ru. Next, is my translation… the Pravoslavie abortion is last. Note the howler in the name of the Parisian archbishop. That’s a proof of ignorance and laziness… two things seen in abundance amongst konvertsy… read on, kids…

My translation

Your Holiness, we’ve seen how gay marriage is a painful topic for many French people. There were mass protests. Did you touch upon this subject during your visit?

Yes, we touched on the topic during a conversation with André Cardinal Vingt-Trois, the Archbishop of Paris. The role of the Catholic Church is well-known in this; it strongly opposes legalising same-sex marriage. The demonstrations involving millions of French people, mostly Catholic believers, were a clear sign of that; they showed that [Catholics] disagreed with the majority opinion [in France]. I must say that nothing has changed in the Church’s position; it can’t change, as [any change would be] against Christian morality. Once again, I want to say that we never condemn anyone… [“we” meaning] both Catholics and Orthodox. We don’t ask that there be restrictions against people of a different sexual orientation. However, we categorically oppose any changes equating such relationships with marriage, which is Divinely Ordained, within which children are born, so that the life of the human race continues. That is part of God’s plan. We can’t modify that with political measures or political ideologies. That’s the basis of the Church’s position.

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all the Russias has noted that while the Orthodox Church has strict traditional stances on marriage and family matters, it doesn’t condemn people, who are always called in love to repentance. In Paris to consecrate the new Trinity Cathedral and spiritual centre, His Holiness also met with the Catholic archbishop of Paris, Cardinal Andrew-Ben-Tura in which the theme of sexual orientation was raised. Summarising the Church’s stance, at a press conference the Patriarch stated:

I must say that nothing changes in the Church’s position, and can’t change, because it’s against Christian morality. I want to say again that we don’t judge anyone… neither Catholics nor Orthodox. We don’t require a hard line towards people of a peculiar sexual orientation. But we categorically oppose the equating of such relationships with marriage, which was defined by God and results in children being born and the continuing of the human race. What is included in God’s design can’t be corrected by any political doctrine or practise. On this is built the position of the Church.

The rubber hits the road with какая-то особенность в сексуальной ориентации. Literally, it’d be some feature of sexual orientation. That jangles in English, doesn’t it? OK, how do we “English” this in a way both correct and pleasing (not so easy, as my experience tells me)? What’s the primary word here? I’d say that it’s особенность. It depends on the context, but it mostly gets “Englished” as feature or particularity. Other possible choices are quality, factor, or trait. It’s clear to me that some konvertsy brat chose peculiar as it fit their ignorant Yahoo rightwing opinions. HH was being very careful not to be judgemental, so it’s clear that’s not what he meant. Indeed, the choice of such an unusual idiom (usually, Russian uses non-traditional sexual orientation to indicate homosexuality) proves that he bent over backwards in his effort not to offend anyone. To carry over this into English, I chose people of a different sexual orientation. It has the same flavour of vagueness and nonspecificity found in the original. The “translation” on Pravoslavie destroyed that… peculiar turned HH’s carefulness and wish not to offend anyone into a mindless Yahoo rant. That’s unforgivable. I believe that we’ve ordained far too many ex-Evangelicals… things such as this prove that they’re not “of us”. I’d say that the bishops would do well to defrock most former-Evangelicals. They’re not of us, never can be, and they distort what the Church truly says. Shall we have the courage to do it, though?

24 July 2016. Priests Who Use the Eucharist as a Weapon are EVIL

______________________________

I saw this on FB:

This is nice… using the faith to manipulate and control the votes of the faithful. Isn’t there a canon that forbids clergy from speaking on political agendas or endorsing political candidates?

If you support Trump, you support a very-cleaned-up racist ideology. If you’re Pro-Life, it’s for life from the womb to the tomb. A vote for Trump is a vote for a man who throughout his life used women for his pleasure and financial prosperity. If you vote for Trump, you endorse a man financially irresponsible in his dealings, who put his financial burdens on society via the bankruptcy courts. In many ventures, he duped others. A vote for Trump is one that supports Pride, not a godly man’s humility. I could go on.

Honestly, both sides endorse issues that are against God’s plan. I don’t support abortion. However, it’s the law of the land, and a vote and win for Trump won’t change this law. It must go through the process needed to remove it. As we know, law doesn’t prevent mankind from sin or breaking law. If so, we wouldn’t have so many of the problems that are inherent in our human being. Sure, we can change the abortion law, but you’d better know they’d still do this deed in makeshift backrooms… resulting in millions of dead babies and women.

To all of those who are against abortion, I’d say that this is an issue changeable only through Christ and a change of heart. If you’re Pro-Life… the proof of that isn’t a quadrennial vote. The proof of having Pro-Life convictions would come in becoming a counsellor at one of the many pro-life clinics, in speaking to a teen, and sharing life with them in love. They need help like none others do. You can be physically present in events and marches. I used to do this in San Diego. Your service would show in so many ways… not just a vote.

Face it, we have many life-altering issues in our nation… the pulpit won’t push and coerce me my vote based on a single issue. Making people do things your way through guilt and false guilt by association is “cultish”; cults use such tactics to force their followers to do things. Peace.

I did some research. This Cusick is a reactionary papist and general Pro-Life Rethug fanatic. We shouldn’t chortle. I remember the Church War of the 70s and 80s… the OCA and ROCOR clergy refused people communion right-and-left; they didn’t care who it scandalised. We were evil in that, just as Cusick is evil in this. This is why I hate the Pro-Life Movement and everything that it stands for. The hypocrisy and narcissism in it is so intense that it floors one. There’s a wrong way of being right, and the Pro-Life Movement is a classic illustration of that.

Pope Francisco Rips “Bloodsucking” Bosses and Prosperity Theology

00 Great Minds Think Alike! 27.11.13

______________________________

On Thursday, 19 May, Pope Francisco blasted employers who don’t provide health care as bloodsucking leeches, and he took aim at the popular “theology of prosperity” in a pointed sermon on the dangers of wealth. Referring to businesses that hire employees on part-time contracts so they don’t have to provide health and pension benefits, the pontiff said at morning Mass in the chapel of the Vatican guesthouse where he lives:

This is akin to sucking the blood from their workers’ veins, leaving them to eat air. Those who do that are true leeches; they live by spilling the blood of the people who they make slaves of labour.

Cutting staff during the summer months to avoid providing benefits is a phenomenon in Italy, but the pope said this type of mistreatment and enslavement of workers is happening all over the world:

We thought that slaves don’t exist anymore… they exist. True, people don’t go and get them from Africa to sell them in America anymore, no. However, they exist in our cities. There are traffickers, those who use people through work without justice.

From trafficking sex workers to failing to grant vacation to employees, Francisco criticised those who seek profit at any price:

(They’re) living on the blood of the people. This is a mortal sin. This is a mortal sin. This demands a great deal of penance, a great deal of restitution, to convert oneself from this sin.

Francis also focused attention on the “prosperity theology”, which, as the pope explained, says, “God shows that you’re good by giving you great wealth”. The so-called prosperity gospel is popular in the USA, where its preachers are often on cable television, and it’s a common phenomenon in Latin America, where the Argentine pope is from, and in Africa and Asia. Francisco said in his homily on Thursday:

The problem is that you can’t serve both God and riches because the love of money becomes a chain that makes it impossible to follow Jesus.

Francis took his cue from one of the day’s readings for Mass, a fiery passage from the Epistle General of St James about the punishments the rich will suffer for having exploited the poor. The pontiff summarised the broad meaning of homily with a simple image:

A glass of water in the name of Christ is more important than all the riches accumulated through exploiting people.

The Argentine pope’s comments continue a theme of his papacy, during which he has tried to create a “poor church” that rejects the idolatry of money. Francisco isn’t only critical of the global financial system; he’s also critical of the greed and the power-hunger of Catholic leaders themselves.

Editor:

I should note that His Holiness mostly agrees with the Pope of Rome on social issues. That is, all the loudmouthed rightwing caterwauling by the konvertsy isn’t only ignorant, it’s Antichristian and Anti-Churchly (I’m thinking about the Russian concept of protivotserkovnost and of theomachy). In short, instead of glorifying Our Lord Christ, they pervert His teachings into an unseemly Black Mass honouring the Evil One. One either internalises “lived Orthodoxy” or one has nothing at all, no matter how often one attends services. I think that Our Lord Christ called such “whited sepulchres”. We should attend to the social teaching of the Church, or we have no faith at all, we’re not real believers. That sounds harsh, but it’s true…
