16 June 2018. Kot Mosta Goes Out on the Town in Sochi

________________________

В Сочи хорошо! Отъедаюсь по-кавказски… хинкали на ужин! Скажу Михалычу, чтобы по субботам всегда меня так кормил. 😉

It’s great in Sochi! I’m gorging on Caucasian food tonight… Georgian khinkali (recipe) for dinner! Therefore, tell Mikhalych I ate my fill this Saturday. 😉

The workers’ cat is on holiday for a well-deserved break after the road-bridge is done. Khinkali are like dumplings… you hold them by the knob and bite into them. Georgians can do it without getting a drop on their shirt… can you? Don’t eat the “knob”… you line ’em up on your plate to show how many you’ve eaten.

Here’s a little something on xiaolongbao (recipe), a similar Chinese edible…

Today, In Krasnodar, we dedicated a monument to the Cossacks and Caucasian mountaineers who fought in and were heroes in the First World War. Exactly 102 years ago, on 28 July 1914, Russia entered the conflict on the side of the Entente. From the Kuban and the North Caucasus, over 100,000 Cossack and Caucasian volunteers went off to the war and about 30,000 of them died. Two local Kuban homeboy sculptors, Valery Pchelin and Alan Kornaev, fabricated the monument to the war-heroes. It depicts a Cossack and a Caucasian Muslim in traditional national costume, standing side by side, hand in hand. The sculpture symbolises the friendship and mutual support of all the peoples of the Caucasus, even in the face of deadly threats. Governor of Kuban Krai Veniamin Kondratyev, Head of Adygea Aslan Tkhakushinov, chairman of the Kuban Legislative Assembly Vladimir Beketov, Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia Aleksandr Ivanov, Ataman of the Kuban Cossack Host Nikolai Doluda, along with other public figures and Cossacks attended the ceremony. Governor Kondratyev said:

This monument is a symbol of our nation, multinational, but united. In our history, one can see many things, but never cowardice and betrayal. In the First World War, Cossacks and mountaineers fought together, slept under the same tents, and ate from the same pot. We must keep alive this memory of this and of their heroic deeds. We shouldn’t allow anyone to drive wedge between the peoples of the Caucasus.

In the First World War, Cossacks and Caucasian Muslims formed a special combat unit… the Caucasian Native Volunteer Mounted Division. Its officers and men were famous for their battlefield heroism. They earned over 30,000 orders and medals, including 4,000 Crosses of St George, one of the highest awards of the Russian Empire. Ataman Doluda said:

After the war, we unjustly forgot the podvigof the Cossacks and the mountaineers in the First World War. Today, we partly correct the situation. The Caucasian Mounted Division had the nickname the “Wild Division”… it terrified the enemy. At the same time, it was an example of the heroism of the Russian army. I’m sure that our children and grandchildren will come to this monument.

At the end of the ceremony, the Cossack honour guard paraded, and all participants laid flowers at the monument.

  • Podvig: Should NEVER be “Englished”… one of the most powerful words in the Russian language. There are literally no English equivalents strong enough. Podvig has overtones of “epic”, “heroic”, “bravery”, “self-sacrifice”, “victory”, “effort”, and “triumph”. It’s best to leave it as is, and admit that English lacks the necessary material to give meaning to this word.

MChS Rossii Issued Certificate to Rename Peak to DNR Climbers after Conquering Caucasian Peak

______________________________

Today, expedition leader Oleg Paly told us that his party of mountaineers received a preliminary certificate to rename a peak in the Caucasus after the Republic, saying:

We’ve received a certificate from the MChS Rossii authorising the rename, but the real work is still ahead of us. We have to reach agreement on an official name for the peak with the RF Mountaineering Federation… we’ve already passed on the necessary photos and our route map.

Paly noted that they carried out the climb on the unnamed mountain (3,795 metres-high (12,450 feet-high)) as part of a project “The DNR Flag over World Mountaintops”, timed to the Day of Liberation of the Donbass, saying:

We began our climb on 27 August and unfurled our flag on 1 September. In fact, the approach to the mountain took longer than the ascent itself. There were melting glaciers and rockfalls everywhere, we had to change our route, and attack the peak from the other side. The ascent was of the second-hardest (out of six possible categories) category, but those who’ll come after us will find it easier going.

Earlier, DNR mountaineers conquered Mount Elbrus, were they also hoisted the DNR flag. That event coincided with the Day of the Great Victory over Fascism. They later topped off at Mount Kazbek in Georgia. Then, they announced their plan of conquering an unnamed peak in the Russian Federation, followed by an application for awarding it the name of “Mount Donetsk Peoples Republic”. Originally, the climbers wanted to tackle one of the over-5,000-metre (16,405-feet) peaks, but it turned out that all the mountains of that size already had names.

DNR Minoborony Slammed Junta for Using Mercenaries from the USA, Poland, the Caucasus and Israel

00 E A Basurin. VSN. Novorossiya. 18.02.15

______________________________

Today, DNR Deputy Minister of Defence E А Basurin told journalists exact details on the composition and number of foreign mercenaries employed by the junta, “In Verekhenetoretskoe we detected a company of 60 to 100 personnel composed of Georgian ‘volunteers’. At fortified point Veterok (between Gorlovka and Dzerzhinsky), we’ve registered a company of troops from the USA and Poland. Our intel tells us that there are about 1,000 Polish mercenaries, in Dzerzhinsk, Dimitrov, Slavansk, Mironovskoe, Konstantinovka, and Kramatorsk. In a collective farm near Krasnogorovka, we recorded two companies of the so-called Ichkeria Volunteer (sic) Battalion {Islamist Chechen terrorists in Langley service: editor}. In Lastochkino, we detected a mercenary unit (up to 800 troops) that appear mainly to be blacks. In addition, we identified two platoons of black soldiers in Slavnom. By the psychiatric hospital in Yasnobrodovke, we recorded Arab mercenaries. We think that this unit has direct links to the terrorist organisation ISIS. In addition, in Odessa’s port, we recorded the arrival of 14 UAVs from Israel with the staff needed to operate them. We discovered that retired Israeli servicemen would serve under the MVDU. These findings suggest that the Ukrainian leadership knows how low morale is in its forces, so it depends on foreign PMCs for terrorism in the Donbass”.

Editor:

Langley is pulling out all the stops as its client is going down the shitter… fast. This is a sign of desperation. The junta is now in the same state as the Führerbunker was in January 1945… it deploys non-existent troops… it orders about imaginary units. It can’t feed its people… pay is in arrears, if there’s work at all… the electricity flickers on and off… hot water in working-class neighbourhoods is history. The above is a forlorn last-gasp attempt to save the Anglo project in the Ukraine… to stop the Red Orthodox patriots’ advance (the Republicans hate anything that even looks like socialism). I’d say… it shows the obtuse and vacuous stupidity of the Anglos… sending Polacks in? That’d ignite anti-junta feeling for sure (1612 redux, anyone?). I’d give you another hint… bet on “Red”…
