1 March 2018. Cat’s Back… Had to Break In a Replacement Machine

Our old machine gave up the ghost. We pulled out a spare machine, which Nicky had spilled coffee all over a year ago (it’s got about 50 percent more storage than the other one and it’s twice as fast due to more RAM). Now, it’s all dry and fine. However… the machine wanted to load every update that Microsoft issued since last year… including the major feature update that revamped the whole Windows 10 platform. Therefore, I’ve been babysitting the process. Now, we’re done and the cat’s back and as feisty as ever. Be good, kids… stay strong and focused, for the times aren’t good.

13 January 2018. Two Things Upped My Productivity Recently

Two things upped my productivity recently. Let’s start with the simpler item… I bought an ordinary ten-buck keyboard and plugged it into the laptop (actually, into a splitter box, but let’s not get too technical). Laptop keyboards are SHITTY. On top of that, some of the keys weren’t functioning at par. They weren’t dead, but it was difficult to get them to work correctly. That slowed down my speed considerably and made it harder to do any creative writing whatsoever. With an ordinary desktop-style keyboard, my speed quickly went back up to where it should be, and if there’s trouble with it, I need only shitcan it and replace it with another ten-buck wonder.

Secondly, we were hacked seriously. In correspondence with friends, this has happened recently to all sorts of anti-Hillary people. For instance, the Hillarybots hacked the email of Ajamu Baraka and the Green Party. They scream about “Russian hackers”… what lying sacks o’ shit! They’re the ones who resort to hacking and computer manipulation as a first resort, not the Russians (who do a good job of deterring and countering American cyberattacks, thank you very much). It cost us a bit of money, but we put up cyberdefences against any further such shenanigans. Remember… Hillary wanted Eddie Snowdon’s head… but he was able to foil her and her sock-puppet Obama. Sadly, we weren’t the only people it happened to… coincidentally, all of them were anti-Hillary to one extent or another. Fancy that…

Therefore, I’m getting back up to snuff… actually, the biggest improvement is having a real keyboard to punch. It’s FUN tickling the keys… that is, if you’re a ten-finger typist like me. Have a good one, all…

12 November 2017. Beware Both the “Conservative” and “Liberal” Trolls in the Cyberworld

A moderator in a group that I once belonged to pandered to a person who described himself as a “social conservative” on a supposedly leftist website. That person used the venue to “out” someone. The moderator merely “warned” the culprit (who called himself “Ryan Isaac”, if that’s their real name) and kicked me out because I supposedly “told him what to do”. That is, he allowed a self-described “conservative” and kicked out a leftist in a supposedly Left FB group. In another group, they told me to “unblock” one of the admins… in public, no less, not in a PM. Supposedly, they were anti-Trump… in reality, they were pro-Hillary, a rather different animal. Being anti-Trump simply wasn’t good enough… friends told me that the moderator was anti-MP, Russophobic, and intolerant of those who opposed him. I guess blocking one of his buddies meant that I merited a public pillorying. Great “liberal” tolerance, wasn’t it?

Trolls of any sort… including “social conservatives”… deserve no quarter. NONE. I’ve dealt with them for years. If you give them “mercy”, they only regroup and attack again. I’ll be clear… to “warn” a troll is unwise. They simply attack again. For them, if someone “transgresses” any of their made-up rules, why, anything is fair in attacking them. No decency or civility is necessary… one simply destroys the “other” in as nasty a fashion as possible. Many so-called “Liberals” are the same… if you don’t repeat their shibboleths chapter-and-verse, they descend just as nastily as the “conservatives” do. They’re trolls in just the same fashion… they just have more smarmy rhetoric, that’s all.

I’ve found people with “religious” tie-ins to be especially lenient with such trolls. This is crackbrained. Trolls are about… both Trumpkin “conservatives” and Hillarybot “liberals”. Both are equally reprehensible. Have a care… trolls abound in the cyberworld and moderators seem to tolerate them. Don’t take it personally if some group tosses you… it merely means that you’ve pissed off an admin or moderator. Look at the good side…  you learned something about them, and that’s always a positive thing.

24 October 2017. Porn Sites are Full of Malware and Viruses… Cybercriminals Know that Most Men Think With Their Balls, Not Their Brains

Last night, I came home to a computer with all sorts of dire messages posted on it. A geekly friend had warned me about such, and about how to get rid of them without paying off cybercriminals. Firstly, they have all sorts of warnings about calling a phone number, where a Microsoft-approved wallah would take of your problem (you get someone from Bangalore telling you that they’ll solve your problem for a “nominal fee of 100 bucks”). Of course, it’s a scam. I ran my defence software… it warned me to get off the page ASAP. This happened because my Nicky was cruising porn sites. Criminals like to attach malware, viruses, and Trojans to porn because they know that most men think with their balls, not their brains (as for me, I simply find porn boring and don’t access it… like most other women out there).

So, if your man gets you into this pickle, “control-alt-delete” and bring up the task manager. “End Process” on the browser. It normally ends your problem. You won’t be able to get him to stop cruising porn. That’s a given. What men find so pleasing about it is a mystery to me. However, be aware that most computer malware comes attached to porn. Have a good anti-virus/anti-malware software setup; it’ll normally foil most of the plug-uglies. Don’t be fooled by the messages. Criminals are liars… of course, they’re “approved by Microsoft” (in a pig’s arse). Keep vigilant… not only are there rum sorts about, your man won’t stop accessing porn. It’s a hazard of modern life…
