This image is supposedly “blasphemous” to Muslims according to Pakistan (at least, that’s what WordPress is saying). Do note that it doesn’t reference Muslims at all!

Dear WordPress Team,

I am writing on behalf of Web Analysis Team of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) which has been designated for taking appropriate measures for regulating Internet Content in line with the prevailing laws of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

In lieu of above it is highlighted that few of the webpages hosted on your platform are extremely Blasphemous and are hurting the sentiments of many Muslims around Pakistan. The URL’s mentioned are clearly in violation of Section 37 of Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 and Section 19 of Constitution of Pakistan.

Here is the full post that Pakistan supposedly complained of. Nothing in this post references Muslims. NOTHING. I never even mentioned Muslims in this post, so how could this be “blasphemy?” Indeed, I’ve been supportive of Muslims in general, as anti-Islamic hysteria is against my faith as an Orthodox Christian. Nothing that I’ve ever posted has been anti-Muslim. Indeed, I stand against anti-Islamic bigotry and agitation. I’d advise WordPress to investigate this. Nothing in the referenced post attacked or even mentioned Islam. It DID criticise American aggression in Afghanistan. Therefore, this could be a scam or a badly-disguised effort by the US government to silence critics.

WordPress! Shame on you. You cravenly went along with something without investigating it. I have nothing but contempt for such pusillanimous behaviour. I could understand it if I were Breitbart or The Daily Stormer. Note well that this occurred after I attacked The Daily Stormer and Maxine Waters. I can only shake my head in amazement. An American enterprise folds in the face of a groundless complaint…

I got an amusing thing in my commboxes recently. I disabled “comments” long ago, so this person had to go back and find an old post that still had comments enabled. That wasn’t easy, kids! Why they did so is puzzling to me… I’m not important at all and they went to a great deal of trouble to diss me (so they thought). This Einstein wrote:

What a maroon! If you take a stand on anything at all, you’ll attract opposition (note well that the above opponent lacked the guts to sign their real name and gave a bogus email address, too). If you look at the commboxes of most material posted on the web you’d find that most comments are meretricious tendentious rubbish posted by ignorant shit-fer-brains yahoos. Rightwingers are the most scurrilous… especially, the anti-Semitic lot. However, I find that “liberals” with their condescension and the “religious” with their self-righteousness are even worse (armchair theory-spouting “leftists” are in the same bag). The worst are Orthodox konvertsy, who throw hissy fits if you don’t agree with their mooning about Serafim Rose or their obsession with guns, gays, and abortion.

If you take a stand, someone is going to throw stones at you. Full stop. Pour yourself a measure of something good and smile. You can’t control anyone else or how they think of you. Full stop. Don’t be a childish moron like they are. You took a stand… someone attacked you. Grow up. As I like to say:

If you hate me and want to tear me down in public, you’re not the first. Join that long line on the right. However, before you do, notice that the line of those who support me, over there on the left, is equally long.

Keep your wits, keep focused, and SMILE. It riles ’em when they realise that they haven’t “made your day”. However, do take my hand… the times aren’t good and the road ahead is dark… only a joint effort will win the day. Reflect on that…

25 February 2017. A Tale of Two Images… Why It Pays to Vet EVERYTHING

I always vet my images, for I’ve found that often a viral image comes from a different source. That is, many viral images on the RuNet aren’t Russian in origin (as the above image illustrates). In most cases, there’s no intent to deceive or mislead, only a desire to share a striking or funny image. However, vetting is a good habit to get into… otherwise, you could believe the rot published in the NYT or WaPo or WSJ or Fox or CNN… when it’s mostly “fake news” pushing the oligarch POV. I always check American media stories against local media outlets; usually, it doesn’t pass the “smell test” (Rod Dreher and Sofiya Kishkovskaya are prime examples, from both ends of the ideological spectrum). Have a care… there are deceivers out there… most of them are “respectable”… they DO have an agenda (and they all have paymasters with definitely nefarious goals).

3 January 2017. Don’t Argue With the Disputatious… BLOCK THEM

Have a care with the overly gnarly… they often have a distorted (if not unrealistic) view of the world. Don’t coddle them… BLOCK THEM…

Recently, a forward sort called me a “nutcase” in his comments. How does one deal with that? Firstly, it shows one that you’re dealing with a juvenile narcissist. Secondly, it’s someone raised without manners or tact, likely indecent (and certainly, unclassy). Don’t argue with such sorts. DON’T. PLEASE, DON’T. Do what I do. BLOCK THEM AND BE DONE WITH THEM. I (and you) have only a limited amount of God-given time… we shouldn’t waste it on boors and self-centred gasbags. Block them and be done. If someone is so badly socialised that they act in such a manner, well, you or I can’t remedy it. The only thing that decent folk can do is to block them and keep them out of one’s life and circle.

I’m going to be 63 my next birthday… I know that some sorts are beyond help. Don’t try to do so… you’ll only frustrate yourself. As I said, block them and be at peace. Be good, all…
