11 June 2016. The 74th Anniversary of the Massacre of Lidice… An Enormity Repeated Many Times in the Third World by the Neoliberal USA

This memorial represents the 82 Czech kids from Lidice gassed at Chelmno (what does that tell you about the Holocaust Denier Patrick Buchanan and his drooling disciples Dreher and Whiteford?)

On 10 June 1942, in present-day Czechia* (then, the German-run Protectorate of Bohemia-Moravia), the fascists destroyed the village of Lidice. The Germans killed all 192 men present (one man was in prison and two were in the Czech forces in the UK; they survived), they deported 213 women to concentration camps (153 returned after the war) and gassed 82 children at Chelmno (6 more kids died in German orphanages and 17 other children passed to German families returned after the war). The fascists even killed all the pet and farm animals. This made the death-toll of Lidice stand at 340 out of 513 total inhabitants (that’s two-thirds of all the souls present in the village)… sounds like a present-day American drone bombing, doesn’t it?

  • Czechia: I’d say that this is the best Englishing of the Czech “Česko”… “Czech Republic” is overly pretentious and a bit “over-correct” (in the linguistic sense); it identifies a nation-area with a particular form of polity and a particular state. It’s why we prefer “Germany” to “German Federal Republic”, amongst others.

Here’s a point to ponder… American “conservatives” (both Repugs and Dems) protected the German killers in their portion of postwar Germany. They allowed them high positions in the government, military, and intel apparats. Now, why doesn’t it surprise us when we see the USA acting like Nazi Germany on the international stage? Note well that the more-unbalanced members of the American apparat want to repeat Operation Barbarossa! We all know how that ended… give heed to the fact that Chilly Hilly wants such an invasion. What does that tell you about her? What does that tell you about her backers?

There is an Orthodox tie-in to this… Bishop Gorazd Pavlík of Praha took the blame for the Czech murderers of the fascist hangsman Heydrich holing up in his cathedral. Of course, that meant that the fascists killed him. He’s a Martyr, the Church of Serbia glorified him in 1961; his feastday is 22 August/4 September.

Is the “all-Orthodox Sobor” a Hairsbreadth Away from Failure? Bulgarian Patriarch Will Only Take Part if ALL Canonical First Hierarchs Participate in the Synaxis

00 Patriarch Kirill w patriarch neofit of bulgaria. 01.06.14

______________________________

In Genève, from 21 to 28 January 2016, a Congress (Synaxis) of the First Hierarchs of the Local Orthodox Churches supposedly will prepare the final agenda for a so-called “all-Orthodox Sobor”, awaited for about a century in certain Church (especially modernist) circles. However, differences amongst the local Orthodox Churches, the refusal of certain First Hierarchs to take part in the Synaxis to prepare the “all-Orthodox Sobor”, and more importantly, the fervent prayers of believers, following the teachings of Holy Fathers and Confessors of the 20th century condemning the putative Sobor as apostasy, could lead to a complete breakdown of the meeting, since all decisions at the Sobor and the Synaxis would be via consensus, and if any of the First Hierarchs were absent, that would render that impossible.

On 12 January 2016, the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Sofia and all Bulgaria referred to the principle of consensus in making a number of conditions specifying their conditions for allowing Patriarch Neofit Dimitrov to take part in the meeting in Genève. In particular, the Synod stated that the lack of an agenda for the Synaxis and the likely presence at the said meeting of uncanonical representatives of the PCČZS/PCČKS (Orthodox Church of Czechia and Slovakia) is unacceptable. Apparently, they mean the so-called “Archbishop” Simeon Jakovlevič of Olomouc and Brno (supported by the EP), the pretender to the seat of First Hierarch Metropolitan Rastislav Gont of Prešov. Moreover, the Bulgarian Holy Synod declared the fundamental importance of the principle of consensus in the coming Synaxis, and that such consensus could only exist if the all the First Hierarchs of the Local Orthodox Churches are present.

In this connection, the Bulgarian Synod ruled that the Patriarch Neofit could only take part in the Genève meeting if “the Patriarch and the Holy Synod promptly receive the agenda of the meeting and if all outstanding disputes receive resolution before convoking the meeting in Chambésy”. Besides this, on 15 January, the Church of Athens and all Greece decided definitively that Archbishop Ieronymos Liapis wouldn’t take part in the upcoming Synaxis, sending instead a delegation consisting of Metropolitans Germanos Paraskevopoulos of Elis and Oleni, Chrysostomos Zafyris of Peristeri, and Chrysostomos Savvatos of Messinia. Orthodox media reported that amongst the reasons for this decision was pressure put on Archbishop Ieronymos… including political pressure… by the EP from the moment it became known that the First Hierarch of the Church of Greece wouldn’t be at this meeting.

“Hi, dears! Could you direct me to the nearest klobáseria? I gots me a POWERFUL hunger and me wants MEAT. A litre or two of pivo wouldn’t hurt a body either”… a klobáseria sells klobása and párky (a frankfurter-like sausage always sold in pairs… good eats!), amongst other good prole street grub. It’s a stand on the street where you can get great stuff to eat as you walk about town (to get the taste, think of a Polish kiełbasa or a German bratwurst, they’re the closest, especially the former). Hoo boy, I’m gettin’ hungry just writing about this…

By the way, the Neoliberal “conservative” Free Marketers tried to close down the klobáserias as they weren’t plastic enough or sanitised enough for their oh-so-refined tastes (besides, the sight of ordinary folk hunching over and ENJOYING their food was too much for them)… it was taking business away from their American-style fast-food franchises (they’re NOT against government intervention if it’s in their favour)! To say the least, the common folks in Praha let their wishes be known… “We want to chow down on klobása on the main square, and you’re NOT closing down our klobáserias!” The commies and socialists led the fight FOR the mom n’ pop stands; they fought back against the megabucks multinational corporate fat-cat attempt at a fast-food putsch. Ronald McDonald and the American Way LOST. Václavák (Wenceslaus Square) is safe for klobása… thanks to the Reds! Take joy in the “little things”… they’re as much God-given as the “serious” ones… perhaps, even more so… oh, don’t trust the “respectable”… EVER…

To put it another way, it was a fight between the likes of Rod Dreher and the likes of me, and I won! There IS justice in the world at times…

Ripe for the Nuthouse: Have the Ukraine’s Leaders Completely Lost It?

00 due to technical reasons 01. ukraine. 21.05.14

______________________________

Czech political analyst and journalist Tereza Spencerová said in an interview on the website Parlamentnílisty.cz that the Ukraine per se is no more; the “government” of P A Poroshenko and A P Yatsenyuk has little impact on the affairs of state, noting, “To stay in power and on the receiving end of the billions of dollars expected to flow in from the West, they need to bide for time, that’s why they make all kinds of deceitful and self-assured statements… one just shouldn’t take these people seriously because they’ll eventually do exactly what they’re told to do from the outside. They’re pitiable and weak politicians running a bankrupt country, beefing up an army they have neither the money nor people to keep, and threatening Russia with full-blown war, which they hope to win. We need to institutionalise the Kiev leadership; if the West continues to support them, the situation will keep going downhill”. Spencerová pointed up that what really matters now is whether the hawks in the US Congress on the one side, or the doves in Paris and Berlin on the other, will eventually prevail. In the end, Spencerová believed that since Merkel and Hollande staked the future of their political clout on the Minsk accords, they wouldn’t let Poroshenko or anybody else ruin their image, reputation, and business ties with Russia.
