Pope Francisco Spoke Against Encroachments on Integrity of Russian Church

________________________

On Thursday, Pope Francisco Bergoglio said at a meeting with a group of Russian clergy that the Roman Catholic Church is in favour of the unity of the Russian Orthodox Church in the wake of Ukrainian President P A Poroshenko’s plan to institute an independent local [national] Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Metropolitan Ilarion Alfeyev, the chief of the MP OVTsS, led the group visiting the Vatican. The Pope of Rome said:

I want to confirm most of all in front of you, dear brother, and before you, that the Catholic Church will never allow an attitude of division to be born on its own. We’ll never allow it; we don’t want it. In Russia, there is only one Patriarch, yours. We won’t have another. Unification as a method isn’t acceptable in relations between the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic Christians at the current stage and only a sisterly dialogue between these two denominations of Christianity is possible. The Catholic Church, the Catholic Churches, shouldn’t interfere in the internal affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church, not even in political matters. This is my position and the position of the Holy See today. Those who meddle don’t obey the Holy See.

At the end of April, the Verkhovnaya Rada supported President Poroshenko’s appeal to Patriarch Bartholomew Archontonis of Constantinople, who has the titular status of “first amongst equals” in Eastern Orthodox Christianity. He asked Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to grant autocephaly to a “united” Orthodox Church in the Ukraine. The global Orthodox Christian community recognises only one canonical Orthodox community in the Ukraine… the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of to Moscow Patriarchate. Operating simultaneously are another two bodies, unrecognised by global Orthodoxy… the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of to the so-called Kiev Patriarchate and the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.

In the meantime, experts and analysts say that Poroshenko’s aspirations received substantial backing from the so-called Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (Eastern Catholic Church of the Byzantine Rite), which is under the Vatican. Earlier this month, Metropolitan Ilarion told NTV that Archbishop (sic) Svyatoslav Shevchuk, the leader of the Ukrainian Uniates “repeatedly stated his support of the project for a unified Local Ukrainian Orthodox Church, while saying that the unity of this Church should be built on the successor of St Peter, that is, the Pope of Rome”.

Editor:

Francisco is telling the Uniates to cool it. However, they’re refusing to obey him. They’ve taken the CIA’s shilling for years; they more listen to Washington than to Rome. The Uniates don’t care what Francisco wants… their leadership are fanatics, as is the leadership of the so-called “Ukrainian Orthodox”. Ukrainian nationalists are evil… they push an agenda mired in falsehood and lies. The Habsburgs sicced these nutters on the world… the Austro-Hungarians have the blame for starting this kerfuffle (they wanted to weaken Russia… it led to their death camp at Thalerhof). Don’t forget, the Uniates blessed the SS, as did the so-called “Ukrainian Orthodox”. They’re unrepentant of that… hell, they’re proud of it! Ponder that… ponder it well…

24 November 2017. HH Shows Us How to Treat With Anglicans… Fie on All Konvertsy and Their Noxious Hatred

________________________

HH met with Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, at the Danilov Monastery. Let the above image prove to you that the loud bloviations from the konvertsy about Anglicans are pure bullshit. Many of them are ex-Anglican disgrunts… therefore, much of their blather is more hatred of former personal enemies in the Anglican ranks than it’s objective opposition to Anglicanism. Indeed, the relations between Orthodox and Anglicans have always been cordial, they didn’t start getting acrimonious until former Prods streamed into our clergy (and our bishops were unwise enough to let them in).

You may follow the konvertsy or you may follow HH. As for me, it’s no contest… HH is still uncontested champ… and the konvertsy are still clueless wimps. Keep it focused… the times aren’t good…

14 February 2016. The Mountain Laboured Forth and Gave Birth to… a Mouse

My comment on FB on the late meeting of Kirill and Francisco:

In any case, nothing of substance occurred. Kirill didn’t even let Francisco join him for any public events in Havana. In short, GIGO on a massive scale. Note well that the CHOSEN venue was well away from any American interference or monitoring. What did they say in pectore?… perspirin’ minds wanna know…

Both Francisco and Kirill wanted to make a point to the EU and the USA… both by their declaration and by their choice of venue. Otherwise, it wasn’t anything to comment upon, as nothing beyond a PR stunt occurred. However, the wording is more “Russian” than “curial”… something to think upon…

Note this well… there was no meeting of the two men before the public, even though Cuba’s a Catholic country. Now, that’s unusual… but no one seemed to comment on it. They didn’t even “break bread” together. Things DO get “curiouser and curiouser”, don’t they? HH is still in Cuba… he’s going the rounds. Again, note well that he didn’t allow Francisco to share in ANY of it. It does give one the clear impression who was the “top dog” in this, doesn’t it?

Kremlin Welcomes Historic Meeting Between Pope Francisco and Patriarch Kirill

00 A Thought from HH. Patriarch Kirill of Moscow. 12.10.13

______________________________

The leaders of the two churches are due to meet for the first time next Friday in Cuba. On Monday, Kremlin spokesman D S Peskov told reporters:

Russia welcomes the historic meeting between Pope Francisco and Patriarch Kirill. You know, it’s a mutual step forward and, of course, like everyone else, we expect that this meeting will be successful, and we very much appreciate the willingness of the two religious leaders to hold such a meeting.

Most expect Pope Francisco and Patriarch Kirill to discuss the persecution of Christians, amongst other matters, and sign a joint declaration.

On Sunday, Pope Francisco Bergoglio called on Christians gathered in St Peter’s Square in Vatican City to pray for his historic meeting with Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church. The leaders of the two churches are due to meet for the first time next Friday in Cuba. He said:

I ask you to support with a prayer my trip to Mexico, which begins in a few days, and my meeting in Havana with dear brother Kirill.

On 12 February, Pope Francisco Bergoglio will meet with Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, in Cuba, in what will be the first face-to-face engagement between the heads of the two churches. Pope Francisco and Patriarch Kirill will meet at the Havana airport; reportedly, the persecution of Christians in the Middle East is the primary issue on the agenda of the meeting. On Saturday, Metropolitan Ilarion Alfeyev of Volokolamsk, chairman of the MP Synodal Department for External Church Relations (OVTsS), said on the TV show Vesti v Subbotu (Vesti on Saturday) that a joint declaration following the meeting might contain a call for “people of good will“ to form a coalition to end terrorism:

There’s constant talk of creating various coalitions. They say, “Let’s create a coalition to fight terrorism; let’s create another coalition”. Coalitions are being created here and there, but to overcome this evil, there needs to be a coalition of all people of good will. Political games have to give way to reality; we must give up political interests when people face real suffering and death. We follow the same gospel, the same Christ and the same commandments. Despite differences in theology, we’re united in the essence of Christian faith, and we mustn’t forget this. We need to find common solutions to global problems.
