Yes, Virginia, there was life before there was SVS and Syosset (“Pishtey’s Folly”)… NEVER forget our roots in the mines and mills… may my right hand wither if I do. Our babas and dedes stood tall in the sit-down strikes… Russkies and Hunkies were RABBLE-ROUSERS… they weren’t “respectable”. Maybe, we should recapture that spirit and stop trying to impress the Anglo Establishment… they’re never going to accept us except as second-class helots, any road. I don’t think that I’m alone in thinking that way…

Here’s some contemporary stuff… note the same Magyar influences that you found in the more “folky” music. Kollárovci (The Kollárs) is a Slovak ensemble that performs folk-flavoured songs in the Podhale dialect, a mixture of Polish and Slovak. The last clip is a longish set of Christmas Koledy from the region. I don’t claim that this is the greatest stuff on the planet… but I do like it (so, there!), so, it’s one of my favourite things… enjoy…

Ján Ambróz, from Prešov Kraj, is, of all things, both a lawyer and a folk-singer. I kid you not! The first selection is the familiar O kto, kto Nikolaja… done in a secular folklore style with cymbalon, fiddle, and stand-up bass bull fiddle. It’s coming straight at ya from the Carpathian foothills… enjoy!

4 December 2014. Pierre Narcisse and Marina Devyatova… THIS is Contemporary Russia

________________________________

In contrast to the rancid and undisguised racism of the Galician Uniate fascists, take a look at this. Marina Devyatova pairs up with Pierre Narcisse… a pop singer from Cameroun. He went to Russia to study medicine (he did get his degree)… but he also made a big splash in the entertainment world. It’s an utterly different mindset from “The Ukraine for Ukrainians only!” and “A knife for the Moskals!”

You can support Russia and its upholding of the decent Orthodox/”Red” patriot elements in Novorossiya or you can support the feral Galician White fascist Uniates and their Anglo American sugar daddies. The choice is yours. You can stand with V V Putin and HH… or you can stand with Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz… do ponder it well, for you can’t have both!
