Today, DNR Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Maksim Savenko announced at a news conference:

By now, our agro-industrial complex received 30 combines, 20 tractors, and 100 trailer units from our Russian colleagues. Already this fall, they took part in the sowing of winter crops and harvesting a range of crops. At this time, DNR farmers need to prepare for sowing grain. We expect new equipment to arrive in the Republic in November, but it won’t be spread around, it’ll go to our newly created state-owned AgroDonbass MTS*, to provide services to all agricultural enterprises in our republic. I’d also like to note that our grain harvest totalled 262,000 tonnes of grain.

Yuliya Viskovatova, head of the Information Department in Lutogino Raion, told us that locals celebrated the Obzhinki, the traditional end-of-harvest festival. Local performers organised a festival and concert for the farmers at the T G Shevchenko Raion House of Culture. The festival marked the end of the new harvest, it summed up the labours and challenges that led to a rich agricultural year. Present to congratulate the farmers were acting LNR Minister of Agriculture and Food Ruslan Sorokovenko, LNR Minister of Industry Dmitri Bozich, and Igor Russky, the head of Lutugino Raion. They gave out Certificates of Merit to the best workers. Russky said, “They say that the ploughman has black hands, but he gives birth to Lutugino white bread. I wish all of you good weather, decent prices, health, and well-being. We’ve already harvested more than 7,000 tonnes of wheat. After we complete the harvest on our farms, we’ll continue clearing for other crops. The forecast for the harvest, despite the conditions under which we sowed the grain, is pretty good; next year, I’m sure that we’d reach higher levels”.

Zakharchenko sez DNR will Have Three Major Food Wholesale Distribution Centres

00 a v zakharchenko 01 250815

Today, during a working trip to Snezhnoe, DNR Chairman of the Government A V Zakharchenko announced that three major food wholesale distribution centres for sale of food from Russia will soon open in the DNR, saying, “Now, we’re completing a wholesale warehouse in Amvrosievka, the goods come directly from the Russian Federation. We’re also going to open two similar warehouses in Donetsk. The import of goods from Ukrainian sources is ever more difficult because of rampant corruption at Ukrainian checkpoints. Imagine what it would cost for the same meat, if the Ukrainian side steals 250,000 Grivnya (763,000 Roubles. 71,300 Renminbi. 735,000 INR. 11,120 USD. 14,680 CAD. 15,420 AUD. 9,680 Euros. 7,040 UK Pounds) per truck to let it pass through. The opening of such centres will enable us to regulate food prices in our domestic retail outlets. Local merchants would buy goods at the centres at state-regulated prices.

Our farms stocked up an adequate supply of winter-feed, both hay and silage, for our livestock. Now, we have supplies sufficient for a year-and-a-half. We completed laying in maize for silage; in total, we brought in about 5,000 tonnes of livestock feed. We’ve left the remaining maize in the field for further ripening; the clearing of the fields will begin later. In parallel with this, the farms of the area are preparing the ground for the upcoming autumn sowing of winter crops”.
