Aicha Bascaró: Please, Grant Clemency to My Father, Antonio Bascaró

01 behind bars in jail

______________________________

My father, Antonio Bascaró, has been in prison for over 34 years, he had no earlier criminal record, serving time for a nonviolent first-time marijuana-only offense… all for helping supply a product that’s legal in a growing number of states. He’s the longest-serving marijuana prisoner in the history of the USA. Today, he’s 80 years old. I lost him to the legal system when I was 12 years old. I hardly remember him outside of that environment. My children barely know him. This gentle grandfather of eight spends his days in a wheelchair, mostly by himself, reading newspapers and listening to the news in his cell at a federal prison south of Miami. He calls me two to three times a week to see how I’m doing and staying in touch. I check on his health, we talk about plans for when he gets out, hoping that on the next Christmas, birthday, or summer we can be together. My father paid with his life (and ours) for that one marijuana offense. I think that the time he’s already been in prison is more than enough punishment. He isn’t a threat to society; he has a large family waiting for him and ready to help him re-enter it. That’s why I’m asking President Obama to grant him clemency, please.

Please, sign my petition asking President Obama to grant my father Antonio Bascaró clemency.

Editor:

The USA is the “Prison House of all the Nations”… not only do we have the festering enormity of the Gitmo Gulag on our conscience as a nation, we have more prisoners, both in absolute and per capita terms, than any other nation on earth. Some states in the USA are worse than others are… the worst, hands-down, is Texas… that’s because the Anglos have never felt comfortable in their possession of the territory since the Texas Anglo Coup of 1836. Remember WHY the Anglos did it… the Mexicans insisted that they free their slaves! It wasn’t a war FOR liberty… it was a war RESTRICTING liberty. It’s no surprise that Texas is also the leader in capital punishment. Following not far behind are the southeastern states of the Old Confederacy. There, the law does its best to victimise black folks… all one has to do is to look at the rates of white and black imprisonment and execution in those states.

The Republicans smile at imprisoning black and Latino men as it removes them from the voting rolls. Therefore, I make the following suggestion. We should legalise marijuana… grant total and unconditional pardons to those whose only offences were marijuana busts. We should restore their voting rights… we should wipe their slates clean. Of course, optimally, we’d couple that with throwing rightwing filth like Rick Perry in the slam for misusing drug laws to disenfranchise coloured men… but that isn’t going to happen. I predict that lawlessness wouldn’t break out. All that would happen is that crooked pols, judges, and cops would forego their dirty money and drug dealers would lose their lucrative situations. Wanna know who the crooked pols, judges, and coppers are? Look at those who defend the “War on Drugs” most strenuously… those are your culprits. It’s just like the loudest and most strident opponents of open homosexuals… why, they’re often closeted gays themselves!

Set the drug prisoners free and legalise marijuana. Drug addiction is a medical problem… not a criminal justice problem. In any case, marijuana use doesn’t lead to hard drug use. Keep it focused. Look at the BILLIONS we’d save on prisons… note well that the amoral moneygrubbing Republican rightwing filth DOESN’T want to save that money. I wonder why… so should you…

2 April 2013. OCA Felon Deacon to be Released by the Feds

01 no bullshit

______________________________

Click here for the latest intel on Michael Pasonick, a former OCA deacon convicted by the Feds (non-church-related matter). He’s going to be sprung from the slam on 28 April, just in time for Easter. Now, all perspirin’ minds wanna know… are Lyonyo, Jillions, and Tosi going to reinstate this creep, or, are they going to be smart and let him remain a layman? As I say, perspirin’ minds everywhere wanna know… is it going to be the same ol’ shit from the Syosset gang, or, is it going to be justice for the plug-uglies (for a change)?

Good Observation from a Cabinet Member:

It’s a revolving door… one comes out, and another is scheduled to be arraigned on 5 April (Robert Kondratick).

What is there to add to that?

Russia Plans To Bring Bout and Yaroshenko Home

______________________________

Today, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MID) human rights envoy Konstantin Dolgov stated that Russia is seeking the return of pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko and businessman Viktor Bout, who are in American prisons. Viktor Bout, who owned a cargo shipping business, was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment this April, convicted of plotting against the USA, as he allegedly intended to sell weapons to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. Konstantin Yaroshenko was sentenced to 20 years in prison for allegedly plotting to smuggle cocaine to the USA. Both men plead their innocence. Dolgov found the sentences unfair, politically-motivated, and unwarranted, saying, “Both cases have politically-motivated aspects that we don’t like at all. The trials were conducted in violation of Bout’s and Yaroshenko’s rights, as Russia wasn’t officially briefed on Bout’s extradition from Thailand to the USA and on Yaroshenko’s arrest”.

Dolgov said that top officials are working on the matter, and Russia’s looking for any legal or political opportunity to bring the men home as soon as possible. Bout is set to appeal his verdict. Dolgov thought that the 1983 Convention on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons ratified by Russia five years ago could help in this case, and Moscow expects the USA to launch the extradition mechanisms. On 4 July, the Ministry of Justice stated that it would submit an extradition request to return Bout home as soon as it receives a respective appeal from Viktor or his lawyers. Dolgov pointed up that the USA’s responsible for health and life of the two Russians, saying, “Yaroshenko was placed to an isolation block for no reason, where he had to sleep on a concrete floor. He also was denied medical help, even though he has serious health problems”.

A number of Russian appeals helped to improve Yaroshenko’s detention conditions. Bout is now in USP Marion, a medium-security prison in Marion IL, instead of the previously-planned Colorado Supermax (USP Florence ADX). However, the Americans still put him in a special block for especially-dangerous criminals, although his lawyers and the judge claimed that such harsh measures are unnecessary. Dolgov added that both problems would be resolved; that Moscow wants its citizens to receive appropriate treatment to have their rights respected.

21 April 2012. Paffhausen Pal to Begin Prison Sentence on 23 April

______________________________

So far, former Deacon Michael Pasonick is still supposed to surrender to the Feds on Monday 23 April at 14.00 EDT to begin his prison sentence. Pasonick’s shyster filed a motion on Friday, 20 April, to delay the beginning of the sentence by ten days. Sounds rather late to me. However, what’s important to us is that Fathausen allowed Pasonick to act as a deacon AFTER his conviction for bribery, and allowed Pasonick to be part of his official delegation at the so-called “March for Life”. This means that Fathausen’s ready to whitewash him… just like the Holy Synod did with Benjamin Peterson after his DUI arrest. Herman wanted BP out, but the Synod refused to act (which meant that Peterson, a major HOOMie supporter, stayed on, despite his open and glaring transgression). That’s why Herman, despite all his faults, was truly Orthodox, and it’s why Fathausen isn’t one of us, but rather a Southern California New Age charlatan poseur.

Should we mention the rumours flying about that JP wants to give Soraich a release so that Soraich can join the ROCOR? JP seems to like questionable characters. As for Love BT’s defence of Soraich… firstly, Soraich was BT’s protégé, secondly, he was BT’s Chancellor. Hmm… if Soraich is a rotter, what does that tell us about BT? Of course, there’s Soraich’s links to Rock and Bobby in Vegas… that implicates BT, too. As for Love BT himself, the smart word is that he hasn’t paid any rent money for his digs to the LA parish, even though he promised to do so. It’s all of a piece… defence of a questionable character… refusal to pay rent… is this what one expects of a retired bishop? I wonder…

As an FYI, Pasonick’s lawyer is one Joseph Sklarosky… just in case you catch him sniffing around your affairs…
