OCA SOBs Kick the Can Down the Road… Delay Naming Bishop for DOS… Is This a Divided House? Is This Another Dahulich Manoeuvre?

Here is a letter sent out by the OCA:

Dear Faithful Clergy of the Diocese of the South:

All the blessings of the fast!

Please carefully read the attached letter from His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon. I also encourage you to send this out to your parish mailing list if you so desire. Following this past week’s Holy Synod meeting, Fr Gerasim has been appointed Administrator of the Diocese of the South, and Metropolitan Tikhon is now the locum tenens.  As Administrator, Fr Gerasim has been given full responsibility for the life of the diocese, save for those things specifically reserved for a bishop. Practically speaking, this means that your dean continues to be the point of first contact when pastoral need arises, but that Fr Gerasim will be integrally involved in all the decisions that affect the life of our diocese.

From today forward in liturgical services you should no longer commemorate Archbishop Nikon, but only the Metropolitan as “His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, Locum Tenens of the Diocese of the South”. Be assured, too, that Fr Gerasim is in complete agreement with this decision, and as soon as he is back in Dallas, he will send out a letter explaining things from his perspective. This decision in no way nullifies our Special Assembly, and the Holy Synod hasn’t rejected Fr Gerasim, nor has any other candidate been put forth for our Diocese. I, therefore, ask everyone to temper his disappointment that there wasn’t an election and recognise that this is the next step in a process that will lead to the election of a new bishop for the Diocese of the South. I counsel patience, and I also beg for restraint, especially as regards to any clergy who might be tempted to “vent” on social media or in the “blogosphere”.  As one wise member of our diocese has stated, “this is a process, not an event”.

Please let me know if I can serve you in any way. In the meantime, I pray that you all have a profitable remainder of these Great and Holy Days.

It looks as though the SOBs are divided… divided to the point of inaction. I smell Dahulich, Peterson, and the SVS gang (with Tikhon Fitz cheering from the sidelines). Remember Parma… do you recall how Dahulich tried to hijack the proceedings? At Parma, a majority of levelheaded parish leaders overrode Dahulich’s naked power grab. Dahulich has a devoted and zealous coterie of young priests… whom he uses as stormtroopers. In the SOBs, the bishops don’t have their archpriestly allies immediately present. Ergo, Dahulich and Peterson obviously tried an end-run to put Eliel in as bishop. They failed. However, Mollard’s a weak reed, a coward in all respects. This was a situation that cried for leadership… Mollard gave none. Yet, it wasn’t the worst outcome. Nikon Liolin is ill… ergo, if Mollard takes over as locum, it means that the sede vacante period might be longer than most expect (it’ll depend on who wins the power tussle in the SOBs). It’s clear that Eliel isn’t favoured in the ROCOR or at the Centre. Let’s be frank… the OCA is a dependency of the MP in all but name. That’s why Dahulich is so dangerous… he’s an EP man, with ties to the Phanar. Also, if Nikon is ill enough not to be able to act as locum, is his health bad enough to keep him from active duty or shall it take a worse turn, presenting the OCA will another empty seat?

We don’t have much to go on… however, it’s clear that something untoward occurred and Mollard is too scared to deal with it. Yes, that’s bad… but Dahulich would’ve been worse… reflect on that. Mollard WAS the Sobor’s choice… FOR GOOD REASON. Keep that in mind.

Anti-Child Abuse Advocates Oppose Eliel’s Nomination… As Do I

Read this. Here’s the real-deal part:

Cappy Larson, one of the founders of Pokrov.org and now also a SNAP leader, was incredulous that Eliel had been nominated, “The OCA is still reeling from the conviction of Archbishop Seraphim Storheim for the sexual abuse of a child. I can’t believe the assembly would seriously consider a man who spent so much time in the company of two notorious sexual predators, and has yet to say a public word against either. I hope that the synod of bishops has more sense than to elect a candidate who thinks it’s more important to conceal predators then to protect the vulnerable and help heal the wounded”. Melanie Jula Sakoda, also of Pokrov.org and SNAP, agreed, “If the OCA is serious about changing the way abuse is handled in their Church, Eliel seems like precisely the wrong kind of candidate”.

Paffhausen protected Storheim and Izzy Brittain… Paffhausen was another Podmo supporter… Eliel was one of Paffhausen’s gay caballeros (along with David Brum)… we DON’T need “more of the same”. Look at Paffso and look at Moriak… ’nuff said. The konvertsy have to be reined in, full stop. Eliel refused to leave Podmo after Podmo got the gate from the ROCOR Holy Synod. Actions have consequences… if he supported pervs twice, I’d not take a chance. Just sayin’…

17 February 2015. Eliel Wins Beauty Contest in OCA DOS… Canonically Meaningless Exercise… It’s All Up to the OCA SOBs Who Gets the Omofor

In case you forgot… here’s the sort of people that Paffso and Peterson hang around… Izzie Brittain… a convicted kiddie porn perv. Do you really want the same sort as a bishop (that is, a perv enabler, not a perv… don’t forget how Paffso defended the convicted perv Storheim and how he defended the SVS coverup of the Iliff Affair)?

The konvertsy toddlers are jumping up and down as though the DOS Beauty Contest actually meant something. It doesn’t. In ALL Orthodox Local Churches, the local SOBs appoint ALL bishops, no exception. There are four candidates, two ethnics, and two konvertsy. One priest told me that Bishop Irineu Duvlea has the inside track, for two reasons. Firstly, everyone’s convinced that the Romanians are going to go back to their Mother Church; since Irineu has given a very good impression, the OCA SOBs want to keep him in the fold, so to speak. Note well that the OCA SOBs would normally see him as the successor to Nathaniel Popp. Secondly, Eliel is one of the gay caballeros around Paffhausen… remember, Paffso’s given the SOBs nothing but grief, even after stepping down. Paffso was a dud… Moriak was a dud… Maymon’s a dud, too. It looks like all the konvertsy faves ended up in the shitter… I think that the SOBs have noticed that too.

As for me, I think that Irineu is the best choice. Firstly, he’s an outsider with no ties to this-or-that faction. Secondly, he has a REAL monastic formation in a REAL monastery in an Orthodox homeland. Thirdly, he has NO ties to Paffso and his scurvy crew. Fourthly, he’d make the konvertsy walk the chalk line or walk the plank. Fifthly, it’d mean that the SOBs wouldn’t need to appoint and pay a new bishop… no small thing that. Sixthly, he’s never had ties to questionable people with naughty pasts. Overall, what’s not to like?

Besides that, the bio given out by the konvertsy of Eliel was crank in the extreme. Firstly, there was no mention WHY Podmo got the heave-ho. Eliel remained loyal to him even after the news of Podmo’s naughty escapades became common knowledge. On top of that, an older friend of mine told me that Vladyki Antony Medvedev ORDERED the brotherhood to leave Platina, but that Eliel and Christiansen defied him. I don’t have a second source, but it sounds possible (and it fits the personalities of those mentioned), so, I’d give it a “maybe”… should the OCA SOBs appoint such a man as a bishop? It’d be Moriak on steroids… that was bad enough, wasn’t it? Secondly, there was no mention of the fact that the Native Corporation kicked Eliel and his bros off Spruce Island. He didn’t leave of his own accord. Several Alaska sources told me this. I needn’t go further… most of the rest is of similar calibre. That’s what upsets me and most other grounded Orthodox… how the konvertsy LIE about their favourites. Reality means NOTHING to them.

Again, the vote that took place was an exercise in futility. It means NOTHING in canonical terms. Will this mean that some of the konvertsy will go vagante if Eliel doesn’t become a bishop? We’ll have to see… you can’t judge them all by the Monomuckos gang and Dreher, after all…

12 October 2013. A Cabinet Update on the Doings of Mark Maymon and Gerasim Eliel

I got this from a loyal Cabineteer:

Bishop Mark Maymon is swanning around Pennsylvania wanting Mollard‘s old job. Gerasim Eliel is at St Seraphim Cathedral in Dallas… the boys there just love him… he went to a parish in the OCA Diocese of the South and some of the “powers that be” thought he was too “obvious”, as is Webber who was Abbot at Fatso’s monastery.

There’d be no worse combination than Maymon and NEPA, no doubt on that. Those are Old School Metropolia parishes… yet, I don’t think that we have any worries. The clergy there are hip to things and have connections (they’re not puffed-up Angliochian phonies). Maymon has no more chance of taking over the Valley than a baby in a drinking contest. That’s a no-brainer…

The last that I knew, Gerasim Eliel was bunking in with Tikhon Fitz on Michelorena Street in LA. As for Eliel being “obvious”, he was connected with post-deposition Gleb Podmoshensky, and that says it all, doesn’t it? Let’s see… Fatso and Brum were tied up with him, too, weren’t they? I’ll not tell you what to do, but do follow the trail, and do connect the dots. Shitbirds of a feather do flock together…

I’d not worry about either one… Mollard’s too bovine to get into trouble before Lyonyo et al got wind of it and scotched it. Sometimes, “bovine” isn’t a prejorative… it’s what you need (I think that you know what I mean)…
