9 July 2016. On “Googling” Other People

I follow the practise of “googling” no one else. If I were to do otherwise, it’d be proof that I didn’t respect anyone else or their privacy. That’s the main temptation on the internet… that you can “find out” about other people and indulge your fancy that you’re good. As for me… I accept people as they are… I’ve only been “betrayed” a few times.

To google needlessly is the same as peering into someone’s window, reading their mail, or listening in on their phone conversations… highly questionable and rather sinful in the extreme. Note that those who do so consider themselves paragons of rectitude. Tells you much about those who do so… and who then spread it all over the web as gospel truth. There’s rather too much of it about. Don’t do it yourself and condemn all those who do so loudly (and “unfriend” and block them into the bargain… you don’t need such asshats in your life).

People who respect other people don’t google others. Full stop… that’s it; that’s all.

I shit you not. These creepos are for real… this smells like the sort of rubbish that the konvertsy engage in. I saw adverts for this on CNN… “Find God’s match for you!” What utter unrelieved hooey and crass baloney… it proves that P T Barnum wasn’t only right in his day, his observation still holds true today, “There’s a sucker born a minute, and two born to take ’em”. It does take all kinds… and it does my cynical side no good to see things like this. There are enough religious charlatans out there, do we truly need more? God do spare me and do pass me a clean barf bag… I think that I’ll need it to clear out my system. Crank world, ain’t it?

It’s one of the most fave internet memes in Russia. It’s gotten even more popular after the recent kafuffle concerning Repin’s painting. If you don’t believe me, run a Google search on Иван Грозный убивает… всех (you have to do it in Russian for it to work properly). Most of ’em are a hoot-and-a-half, and you’ll laugh your fool head off at some of them (I certainly did). There’ll always be a Russia… thank God for that! Have a smile…
