Today, Italian writer and journalist Max Bonelli presented his book entitled Antimaidan: A History of the Genocide of the People of the Southeast Ukraine (sic) at the DAN media centre in Donetsk. Bonelli said, “The heroism of the Donbass inspired me to write this book, where I told my countrymen the truth that the Italian media won’t tell them… of your courage, of your desire for independence, about your wish for freedom from fascist oppression. These values are in the Constitution of my country, but they don’t exist because of our slavery to America”. Bonelli pointed up that the central theme of the book was an analysis of the interpretation of the present Ukrainian events given in the Italian and other Western European media. Primarily, it focuses on the coup d’état in Kiev in 2014, the events in the Crimea, and the conflict in the Donbass. The official presentation of the book to readers will be today, 25 August, at 16.00 MSK, in the lecture hall of the N K Krupskaya Donetsk all-Republic Universal Scientific Library.

Italian Economics Wonk Thinks that the Experience of the South Tyrol Will Help Novorossiya’s Postwar Economic Reconstruction

_______________________________

Today, at the International Forum “Donbass: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow” in Donetsk, Italian free economic zone expert Andrea Villotti said that the DNR could benefit from experience gained in the Autonomous Province of Bozen-Bolzano in Italy in re developing its economy, saying, “We’re ready to share our experience in economic development in the South Tyrol. We believed that only a strong economy would give us actual autonomy. It was difficult; people looked at us askance. However, because we worked at it, we went from being the poorest area into being the richest one. I see that you believe in that, too, seeing what you’ve built so far in the past year, so, we’ll help you. The South Tyrol is just a model, you’d need to develop your own adaptations, you’d have to base your decisions on your position and opportunities, but we’re ready to coöperate with [the DNR and LNR] in the high technology field and invest in this area”.

New Year Celebrations have just taken place all over the globe, engulfing the seven billion people of our planet in a spirit of joy and pleasure, granting them hope for a better year ahead, and leaving behind bad memories and misfortune from the last one. Let’s cast a glance on New Year celebrations from the sun-kissed beaches of Brazil to the shining skies of Iceland. “May your days be as glittery as diamond, may your friends be as good as gold, may your heart stay as green as emerald, and may your soul remain as pure as pearl”. The French celebrate the New Year with a traditional feast that includes crepes, foie gras, and, of course, champagne. When the clock strikes midnight, the French exchange kisses. New Year is clearly the most adored festival of the Chinese calendar, with Hong Kong residents heading to temples to pray for good fortune, followed by pyrotechnic shows and mythological spectacles which light up the city. Koreans celebrate the New Year twice… on 1 January, like the rest of the world, and on the first day of the Korean lunar calendar. In both cases, it’s a major traditional family holiday when Koreans visit their parents and remember their ancestors. In Russia, New Year is the happiest and most cherished family holiday. Ice skating is one of the main activities during the winter holidays.
