Have you noticed that when tornadoes, hurricanes or even the odd earthquake hits the Bible Belt one never hears the Pat Robertson types decree that it was the Finger of God for the Bible Belt’s sins? Natural disasters are only Heaven’s judgement when they hit NYC, San Francisco, New Orléans, or other non-fundamentalist parts. Well, it’s the same here… if someone in the USA displays a blasphemous artwork like “Piss Christ” the Right freaks out (they should… absolutely!). However, when something like this or Pussy Riot occurs in Russia and the Church squashes it… SOUND THE ALARM! THE ORTHODOX CHURCH IS FANATICAL!

Hypocrites!

Need I say more? After all, tornadoes routinely rip through Born Again districts, don’t they? Is God trying to tell them something (the biter bit, eh?)…

Ted Cruz attacked federal aid for Hurricane Sandy victims… Ted Cruz blubbers for aid for Texas flood victims. I’d observe that since Texas claims to despise “federal intervention” in their affairs, well, it’d be simple justice to deny them aid. Of course, one doesn’t do such miserable evil rot… but do note that Texans (as a group) ARE capable of such beastly behaviour. It tells you much about their character as a polity, doesn’t it? Yes… good people can live under crank régimes… that’s true. However, such people do NOT negate the evil of those crank polities. It’s a meaty thought…

Texas has had a crank ideology and underpinning ever since the Slaver Revolt of 1836. If you saw Texas Rising on the History Channel, you saw something that deserved the Pulitzer Prize for Best Fiction of the Year. If the Anglos didn’t like Mexico and its laws… well, shouldn’t they have left and gone back to the USA? Isn’t that what the ignoranus rightwing trash keep saying today? “If you don’t like it here, why don’t you go back to where you came from?” Indeed… why didn’t they follow their own advice and go back to the USA from whence they came to Mexico? The Atlantic, citing the Public Religion Research Institute , wrote that almost half of Americans, namely, 49 percent, believe that climate change and natural disasters portend the beginning of the Apocalypse. At the same time, the number of people with such views depends on which segment of the population that you ask. For example, often, white Evangelical Christians take the view that natural disasters are a sign of the End Times, and are less inclined to believe that this is a consequence of climate change (in the survey, one could choose both). On the other hand, the majority of black Protestants not only believe this, but more strongly. The study notes that since 2011 the number of Americans who believe that such things are a sign of the Apocalypse or Doomsday rose. The survey results came from telephone interviews conducted in English and Spanish from 18 September to 8 October 2014 amongst 3,022 people over 18-years-old living in the USA (1,502 were interviewed using mobile phones).
