My Name was Milica Rakić

A street in Batajnica, a Belgrade suburb, as well as one in Veternik, a suburb of Novi Sad, has her name and a newly redecorated monument in Tasmajdan Park reminds us of the 79 children killed during the 1999 NATO bombing of Serbia.

If you support NATO, this is what you support. Think on it… child-killing isn’t decent, is it? If shitbirds of a feather flock together, why do you support filth like Trump, Clinton, McCain, and Biden? After all, they chortled (and still chortle) at the death of our Orthodox children… but boy oh boy, the profits were (and are) massive… they stuck in their thumb and pulled out a plum… oh, what a good person I am! Oppose American greedster gangsterism and its Stepin Fetchit NATO “allies”. Justice demands it…

Listen Liberals: Russia Isn’t Our Enemy

00 Vitaly Podvitsky. What Fine Targets! 2014

____________________________________

I must say that it simply baffles me what appears to be the prevailing view in this country (especially among liberals) that Russia is somehow a threat to the USA. In truth, one of the only redeeming qualities of a Trump presidency that I saw was the possibility that his administration would repair ties with Russia and work with that country in trying to solve issues of mutual concern, particularly in the Middle East. Yet, that’s one goal of the new White House that the Establishment, both in Washington and in the media, seem hell-bent on preventing. Indeed, I agree with some commentators’ assessments, including Dennis Kucinich who is breaking ranks with fellow liberals over this issue, that the motivation behind the US intelligence community’s successful attempt to remove Mike Flynn as National Security Adviser was the desire to keep the new Cold War going.

While I certainly understand it is in the interest of the military-industrial complex, again as Kucinich explains, to continue to vilify Russia to justify our already-bloated military spending, I’m a bit taken aback at how eager most liberals are to embrace and even stoke this demonisation. Given the poor historical knowledge of most Americans, a little refresher on past and current affairs is in order. Russia was our ally in World War II in defeating the Nazis. Moreover, contrary to what most Americans learned in school, Russia truly won the war in Europe, losing over 20 million people in the process and being responsible for 80 percent of the Allies’ Nazi kills.

In addition, while many of us might not like the messenger, Donald Trump was correct when asked about Putin being a killer, he suggested that the USA was less than innocent in this respect. Indeed, although such a moment of candour by a US President horrified many, Trump engaged in gross understatement. Let me be so bold as to say that, certainly since 1960 and up to the present time, the USA was much more brutal and bloodthirsty than Russia. It isn’t even a close call here. For example, as Noam Chomsky (no lover of the USSR he) explained:

It isn’t seriously in question, as John Coatsworth writes in the recently published Cambridge University History of the Cold War, that from 1960 to “the Soviet collapse in 1990, the numbers of political prisoners, torture victims, and executions of nonviolent political dissenters in Latin America vastly exceeded those in the USSR and its East European satellites”. Amongst the executed were many religious martyrs, and there were mass slaughters as well, consistently supported or initiated by Washington.

Chomsky went on to detail the millions killed by the USA in Indochina during its shameful war on Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, and Reagan’s support of apartheid South Africa’s rampage through Southern Africa, which led to the deaths of 1.5 million people. Moreover, what about today? While many are up in arms about Russia’s annexation of the Crimea (although this was with the approval of the majority of Crimeans who are happy to return to Russia) as well as Russia’s intervention in the war in Syria, these actions pale in comparison to the USA’s own intervention in Syria, its recent destruction of Libya, its destruction of Iraq and Afghanistan, its continued support for the Saudi rape of Yemen, and the USA’s support for the pillaging of The Democratic Republic of the Congo which cost the lives of around 6 million innocents. These US wars, along with the USA’s over 800 military bases in more than 70 countries (Russia has bases in only one country (Syria) outside the former USSR) have led to the USA rightly being viewed in a poll of people in 65 countries as by far the greatest threat to world peace.

Meanwhile, at the USA’s urging, and despite its promises to Russia in return for the USSR relinquishing any hold over Eastern Europe, NATO now has troops on the Russian border and the USA just sold extended-range missiles to Poland that’d surely be pointed at Russia. Russia isn’t similarly postured along the USA’s boundaries, and it’s unthinkable that it ever would be. In other words, Russia should be afraid of us, not the other way around. In addition, we should welcome President Trump’s expressed desire to stop antagonising Russia and to work with it in defeating ISIS in places like Syria as eminently reasonable and indeed necessary to avoid a possible nuclear confrontation. The American public should also welcome this, as the greatest military spending spree by far on the planet drains its resources. Certainly, liberals, who at least once stood for peace and for greater social spending, should be in the lead in cheering such overtures instead of drumming up anti-Russian hatred which can only lead to more war and more impoverishment of our society.

The Donbass People’s Fortress Honours the Remembrance of Its Lost Commanders… What Panic?

00-dnr-russia-motorola-funeral-120217

The funeral procession for A S Pavlov (“Motorola”) in Donetsk… can you believe that Langley and its Galician Uniate nationalist stooges are passing the lie that Russia killed him? If you needed proof that the Anglos and their Uniate/schismo running dogs are living in Cloud-Cuckoo Land, that fills the bill. Delenda est “Anglo hegemony”…

******

_____________________________________

Just in the past few months, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and its armed forces lost two remarkable battalion commanders and national heroes, “Givi” (M S Tolstykh) and “Motorola”, both assassinated far behind the Donbass frontline. Likewise, only about a week ago, the Lugansk People’s Republic (LNR) just witnessed the same kind of terakt*, when the famous Colonel Oleg Anashenko perished when a bomb ripped his car apart. All of these brutal killings were due to “legal” state terrorism, carried out by the Ukrainian special services against the Donbass people. Yes, all the tears that people shed in the Donbass because of our latest losses could make a heavy rainfall.

  • Terakt: Russian acronym for “terrorist action”

In both the DNR and LNR, terrorism alerts were at the highest level as they mourned their great heroes. The latest wave of terror attacks follow a horrific week, Ukrainian forces struck in the early hours of 29 January, which led to a veritable terror shelling of Donbass civilians for several days, after which our forces repelled Ukrainian infantry attacks. The junta forces used heavy artillery, mortars, Grad MRLs, and even heavy Uragan MRLs directly against civilian districts in Donetsk. The OSCE failed totally to report the key reasons for the escalation and after keeping its mouth totally shut during the first days, the western media started an information campaign against the DNR and LNR People’s Forces. Yet again, the pro-Ukrainian western propaganda machine made the victims into the aggressors, and the western media whitewashed Ukrainian attacks and war crimes. Frankly speaking, AP-Reuters-et al failed to publish anything that’d be even close to the truth, and by hiding the first crucial 36 hours of extreme Ukrainian provocations, the truth was again the first victim of an information war waged against Russia and (especially) the Donbass people.

FACT: RUSSIA ISN’T A PARTY TO THE DONBASS WAR

In the aftermath, we saw how NATO blatantly accused Russia for causing the latest escalation between the Ukraine and the Donbass People’s Republics. The Ukrainian prime minister, a real war criminal, stood next to the deputy head of NATO in Brussels, trying to convince, without showing any evidence, an international audience “that the Ukraine and the Kiev régime is a victim of Russian aggression”. What crap! Certainly, you should ask, “What Russians, how and where?” Still, the undeniable fact is that there aren’t Russian troops in the DNR and LNR, although this is difficult for westerners to believe. However, I learned here in Donetsk (and the administration well understands) that the Kremlin only has limited political influence over the decision-making processes in the independent, democratic, and powerful new People’s Republics. Always, when any westerner mentions Russia and Donbass, you should keep in mind that the Minsk Agreements and signed documents between the Ukraine and the DNR/LNR don’t even mention Russia. Why is that so? It’s because Russia has the same status as Germany and France as conflict mediators… nothing more, and nothing less. Behind the geopolitical brouhaha, everyone knows that it’s a fact that Russia isn’t a party to the war in the Donbass. I hope that you won’t fall like sheep poisoned with war propaganda.

PANIC HERE IN DONETSK AND LUGANSK?

Today, the Ukraine masses troops and heavy weapon systems along the frontline. Attack preparations and daily use of these weapons are against the Minsk Agreements, but the blind, useless, and shameful OSCE Monitoring Mission keeps its mouth shut, always looking the other way, it de facto serves only the interests of the West and its puppet régime in the Ukraine. Yes, we know the Ukraine will attack again soon, and they’ll terrorise us repeatedly, without mercy, and we can only expect another western-backed storm of fire to pound civilian neighbourhoods of Fortress Donbass. Here, in Donetsk, no one is safe… we’ve learned that very well. You could easily think that after two nasty weeks of Ukrainian terror, while we sit and wait for the next great escalation of the conflict to begin again, that the DNR and LNR would certainly be panicking. From what I see, it’d be only logical to expect such a thing! Damn, yes, we’re worried here, mostly because all these innocent civilians and children face terrible situations because of state terrorism, but as yesterday’s funeral of commander “Givi” again showed to us, at the same time, we’re more confident and determined in our common stance against the Ukrainian terror in a true united people’s resistance. Yesterday, on Friday, even in such cold weather and with the risk of another possible terror attack by Ukrainian forces on the crowd, the DNR showed again how strongly united the people are with our heroes-in-arms. After an intensive Ukrainian terror bombardment in the DNR, after the assassination of commander “Givi”, after the highest defence and terror alerts from the DNR’s top leadership and state media, tens of thousands of regular citizens came forward to show respect for our fallen battalion commander. The people are the source of the DNR People’s Forces, they praise them, and “We’re all as one”.

FORTRESS DONBASS: THE WEST SHOULD TAKE A LESSON

The image of Motorola’s funeral shows something that everyone should learn about the Donbass People’s Republics, especially, the Ukraine, the EU, and NATO-countries, which still advocate the use of military force against the Donbass people. I need to ask, how on Earth could any person with some sense in their head even think that anyone can beat the united Russian people in the former Ukraine? Yes, we should be concerned and look for a path to the peaceful political settlement of this terrible conflict in Europe, as all civilised people should, but in fact, no matter what kind of state terrorism and military offensive the western-backed Ukrainian forces, which stand today at the gates of Fortress Donbass, wage against us, there isn’t any fear in Donetsk. “Donbass Holds!” Moreover, we don’t need Russia to maintain the strength of the Donbass People’s Forces. Now, I want to tell you something that I learned here in Donetsk over the past two years. It’s about the thousands of coal miners who are the true core and muscle of the DNR/LNR People’s Forces. These guys are defending their homes. Yes, the miners really are tough guys, they can take any shit, and they’re always ready to give needed lessons to their enemies. Keep in mind that the Donbass population has a lot of these tough guys, hardened by extreme working conditions, working one kilometre underground… they’re the heart of the Donbass.

FACT: THE RUSSIAN ARMY ISN’T NEEDED IN THE DONBASS

When the western-backed Ukrainian régime collapses, their own destructive orders to attack will crush the Nazi forces in the “Ukrainian National Guard”. Then, great internal problems [in the Ukraine] would follow. If the DNR/LNR forces counterattack with their mechanised brigades, the Donbass guys and volunteers would start a long march to the West. Remember that the Donbass People’s Forces don’t really need Russia (or the Russian forces) to execute major manoeuvres against the already-failed Ukrainian state and its army. Of course, if there is a DNR/LNR counterattack, the pro-Ukrainian propaganda machine of the NATO, the EU, and the USA will again scream loudly, “Russia’s attacking!” However, just keep calm, and follow the news sources from Donetsk and Lugansk. It’d be payback time for the thousands of trained, motivated, and armed Donbass miners, who today patiently wait for diplomatic solutions. The truth has been the first victim of the war in the Donbass, but as the people will prevail in the end, the truth will prevail with overwhelming strength as well. The Donbass will certainly hold out, but it’s also every day more ready to expand, to liberate the western-occupied regions of the historic Russian land, and that means all of Novorossiya.

In the shared memory of our lost heroes, Givi, Motorola, Oleg Anaschenko, and so many others, the people’s fortress in the Donbass only gets stronger!

If the USA thinks that their so-called “NATO allies” are ready to be cannon-fodder for American delusions, they had best think again. The neoliberals (both “conservative” and “liberal”) share the same fancy. They believe that foreigners will die for American foreign policy aims, obviating the need to rely on such politically explosive methods such as conscription in the USA. Since the end of Vietnam, the USA has relied on a mercenary army… if there were a real war, the USA would be up Shit Creek without a paddle… there’d be no reserves to replace losses.

I somehow get the impression that Slovaks have no desire to die for American hegemony… I confide that they’re probably not alone in thinking that way…
