20 February 2014. Let’s Break the Tension… There be Some INTERESTING Cats Out There…

00 Cats 01. Millie the Guard Cat. 20.02.14

I think that we’re all wrung out with the story of the Kiev fighting. Yes… we’ll have to return to it. For now, let’s take a break and romp with the furbies…

This is Millie… she’s a guard cat in England. I shit you not… she guards the premises… and she does look SERIOUS…

******

00 Cats 02. Kuzma the Library Cat. 20.02.14

In Novorossisk, Kuzma is an “assistant librarian”… he takes his job very seriously…

******

00 Cats 03. Belgian Postal Cat. 20.02.14

In the 1970s, “post cats” appeared in Belgium, in a village near Liège. Yes, they deliver the mail… yes, they get it right… no, I don’t know how they do it…

******

00 Cats 04. Stubbs the Mayor Cat. 20.02.14

Stubbs is the “Acting Mayor” of Talkeetna AK USA… he’s been shot with an air gun, a dog gave him a vicious bite, but he lives up to the ideal of “I takes a licking, but I keeps on ticking”…

******

00 Cats 05. Larry the UK Mouser Cat. 20.02.14

Larry is the Chief Mouser of the UK… he lives at 10 Downing Street. Vicious liars claim that Larry sleeps on the job, but every one knows that cats are nocturnal…

******

00 Cats 06. Tama the Station Master Cat. 20.02.14

Tama is the “station master” of the railway stop at Kishi Station on the Kishigawa Line in Kinokawa (Wakayama Prefecture) in Japan…. since Tama’s been on the job, ridership from the station is up 10 percent… would I lie to youse guys?

Let’s all smile and break the tension… for the cruel world is still waiting for us… but it can wait for a while, can’t it?

28 November 2013. A Picture IS Worth a Thousand Words… A Sub Gets a Blessing in Piter…

00 Orthodox priest blessed sub Novorossiysk. 28.11.13

______________________________

A priest blesses the new Project 636.3 Varshavyanka submarine B261 Novorossiysk, being launched at Admiralteyskie Verfi in St Petersburg. It’s supposed to enter service with the Black Sea Fleet next year. This isn’t unusual any more… indeed, it’s become routine. Mind you, if the Reds were to take power again, this wouldn’t change… don’t listen to the likes of Victor Potapov… after all, he DOES (or DID) work as a US government propagandist (do follow the money… it tells you so much about people). The late great Joe Adamov apologised on air for issuing lies… Potapov has never done likewise. Do notice that and mark it down… it’ll tell you much about his character, won’t it?

Christ is back… and He’s here to stay.

13 May is a holiday honouring the Black Sea Fleet that began in 1996 to commemorate the founding of one of our main naval bases. The Black Sea Fleet is a strategic formation of the Navy of the Russian Federation to ensure Russia’s military security to the south. Its main bases are Sevastopol and Novorossiysk, with subsidiary bases at Temryuk and Tuapse. Besides the naval bases, it has surface ships and submarines, naval aviation and air defence units, coastal defence troops, and naval infantry battalions. The main objectives of the Black Sea Fleet at present are:

  • The protection of economic zones and areas of industrial activity, with the suppression of illegal activities
  • Ensuring navigational safety
  • Execution of Russian foreign policy in economically-important regions of the World Ocean (visits, business visits, joint exercises, activities in the peacekeeping forces, etc)

10 July 2012. RIA-Novosti Infographics. Flooding in the Kuban (Update 9 July 2012)

______________________________

Severe flooding hit Krasnodar Krai, killing 171 people. Especially hard hit by the rampant elements were GelendzhikNovorossiysk, and Krymsky Raion, and the government imposed a state of emergency in the flooded regions. Preliminary reports state that the flood affected nearly 35,000 people . Initial data from investigators showed that the authorities didn’t properly alert the public about the impending threat. Krasnodar Krai Governor Aleksandr Tkachyov ordered the dismissal of Mayor Vladimir Ulanovsky of Krymsk and the head of Krymsky Raion, Vasili Krutko, stating that they didn’t measure up in their reactions to the serious emergency.
