As Frederick Douglass put it so well, “Power concedes nothing without a demand”… read n’ heed, kids…

Editor:
This came in from a friend of mine; I find it a “read n’ heed” and I’d say it has nothing we need to add to it.

It’d be well to realise that the talk of “humane methods of warfare”, of the “rules of civilised warfare”, and all such homage to the finer sentiments of the race are hypocritical and unreal, and only intended for the consumption of stay-at-homes. There are no humane methods of warfare, there’s no such thing as civilised warfare; all warfare is inhuman, all warfare is barbaric; the first blast of the bugles of war ever sounds for the time being the funeral knell of human progress… What lover of humanity can view with anything but horror the prospect of this ruthless destruction of human life? Yet, this is war… war for which all the jingoes are howling, war to which all the hopes of the world are being sacrificed, war to which a mad ruling class would plunge a mad world.
James Connelly
I’m going to this well again if only to show that nationalism and capitalism lead directly to war while at the same time claiming war can be conducted in a human or just manner. It can’t and the Orthodox Church never claimed it could, and to the best of my recollection, it rejected such notions. From the Roman Empire in Constantinople to Russia, the Church always saw war and sabre-rattling as options of last resort. Instead, it offered the word of Christ to cultures that might raise the sword, knowing that war must be the last option because Christ in the Incarnation saved all human beings regardless of race, colour etc. and as such war destroys the humanity He took and healed. Compare that to the warmongering or potential warmongering done or supported by the majority of politicians from Trump to Clinton. War must be a last resort and we can never consider it civilised or humane from an Orthodox perspective IMHO.

Click here to go to a page containing a vid of ordinary people from Bethlehem and their wishes for peace. As you hear them, ponder the fact that the US Republican Party (and all “conservatives”) support the radical Zionist settlers and their violence against the Palestinian people (said Zionists don’t represent or speak for all Jews, despite their loud declarations). Sad to say, Establishment Democrats such as Chilly Hilly and Butcher Biden also support the Zionist pogroms on the West Bank.
Orthodox people! What does this tell you about unrepentant rightwing traitors such as Potapov, Paffhausen, Trenham, Mattingly, Dreher, and Reardon? They support the Republican oppressors of the Palestinian people… who also support the Uniate foes of Holy Rus. If anyone calls themselves “conservative”, they’re willing accomplices of evil and fawning disciples of Antichrist (in the sense of the Apocalypse of St John), full stop.
You may stand with the people of Bethlehem… or you can stand with nihilistic grasping “conservative” filth. It’s up to you. Christ or Mammon? What do YOU want?

A fact:
Why is it that Liberals and Democrats have become the main instigators of war? What does CNN want… war with Russia? The Green Party is the only national electoral party consistently anti-war. No war with Russia; no calling on Saudis to get its hands dirty.
