Honour the heroes this Memorial Day. Why are so many of them homeless? Why are so many of them poor? Why did do many of the Affluent Effluent dodge service and yet reap all the benefits? Yes, here’s a partial list of those loudmouth GOP Chickenhawk warpigs in the Hall of Shame:

• Antonin Scalia
• Ted Nugent
• Willy Romney
• Paul Ryan
• Rand Paul
• Richard Cheney
• Ted Cruz
• Marco Rubio
• Rush Limbaugh
• Rod Dreher

and many, many, many more. In fact, the more strident one is for war, the more probable it is that they never served. All sane combat vets of my acquaintance aren’t anxious to repeat the experience. In fact, most don’t talk about it, unlike the REMFs (Rear Echelon MotherFuckers), who’re prolix and dominate most veterans’ organisations.

Retired Colonel to Warmongers Who Want American Ground Troops in Iraq: “Let’s Draft Your Kids”

If there’s one thing that America loves more than a scantily-clad teenage pop singer, it’s blowing crap up. However, if there’s anything that America loves more than blowing crap up, it’s having other people doing the fighting. Yet, whilst Americans are mostly war-weary and wish to remain out of Middle Eastern internal conflicts, the spread of ISIS and its unspeakable acts of violence in Iraq certainly brought back the war drums. Even if Bush’s invasion of Iraq created ISIS, this is mostly a problem for the Sunni/Shite countries of the Middle East to sort out.  We can no longer be the parent that keeps bailing out its drug addict kid; the Sunni nations of the Middle East must commit their OWN ground troops to fight ISIS.

However, thanks to FOX News and its priapism for permawar (they need a new “shock and awe” war for ratings) a recent Quinnipiac poll showed that 62 percent of voters support sending ground troops back to Iraq. Of course, this angered Colin Powell’s former chief of staff, retired Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson. Wilkerson’s responded to the poll on All In With Chris Hayes, “If 62 percent of voters want to use ground forces against ISIS in Syria or Iraq or wherever, then I suggest we have a draft and we draft those 62 percent to lead the way”. I’ve always believed that the conservatives never-ending love for war would disappear faster than Miley Cyrus’ clothing if we reinstated the draft. They’re all too willing to have someone else’s kid pay the ultimate price for their lust for permawar and bettering Lockheed Martin’s bottom line. I hate to say it, but the colonel’s right… if we want to see that 62 percent disappear, we need to bring back the draft.

9 September 2013. CNN and the Neocon/Interventionist Pigs SILENT on Ma’loula Enormities

CNN blatted away in the breakroom today at work. There was NOT ONE WORD SPOKEN on the Golgotha of Syrian Christians. It was “Go to hell, go directly to hell, and don’t bother us, for you don’t matter in our New World Order”. This is an outrage. No one’s standing up for Syrian Christians and Alawis in Washington. NO ONE. There’s much posturing, and much self-righteous indignation about a supposed “chemical attack” that’s not even confirmed, but the actual killing of Christians, Alawis, and Shiites, and the torching of their homes, businesses, and houses of worship doesn’t even merit a footnote. If anything is EVIL, this is evil. It’s an absolute inversion of reality; it’s the substitution of a dream world for the real world. These people are the enemies of everything decent and honourable… they may be well-spoken… they may be well-groomed… they may be “nice” and have all the right “credentials”, but they’re evil to the bone and false to the core. They’re poster children for Hannah Arendt‘s concept of the Banality of Evil… they’re modern-day Eichmanns (who wasn’t a “monster” at all… he was a faceless dweeb). They drool with pleasure at their “indignation”… you see, they’re so much “better” than we hoi polloi, dontcha know.  They shudder over what may be nothing but a manufactured provocation, but they’re silent on the actual murders and rapine in Ma’loula. NOT ONE WORD was said about Ma’loula. NOTHING. If that doesn’t tell you that the American political class (both Republicans and Democrats) is in league with evil and corrupt to the bone, I don’t know what to say to you.

NO WAR IN SYRIA… that’s the beginning and end of it all.

As for we Orthodox people, I’d say that the konvertsy have a choice to make. Shall they stand with us ethnic Orthodox, who’re 100 percent behind our Syrian co-religionists, or, shall they stand with the American neocons/interventionists? If they don’t want to be part of us… hey, that’s OK, but if you’re not going to stand and be counted when one of the family is being threatened and beaten by the self-righteous American neo-Puritans, leave us. That’s honest, at least. Russians, Serbs, Greeks, Romanians, Bulgarians, Carpatho-Russians, Belarusians, you name ’em, we’re all behind Syria. The Amerikantsy will have to decide whether they’re going to make a real home with us, or, whether they’re going to spin off into irrelevancy. I don’t hold out much hope… placard waving never did much good… shall they come to understand that? Only time will tell us…

Rogozin: The West Appears to the Islamic World as a Monkey with a Grenade

On Twitter, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Rogozin used a metaphor to criticise the actions of the West against the Islamic world. He said that it acted like an animal playing with explosives. Rogozin wrote on his page, “The West appears to the Islamic world as a monkey with a grenade“. Earlier, on Tuesday, he posted, “Seeing the Anglo-Saxon sabre-rattling on the Syrian borders, one can understand the natural desire of sovereign countries to strengthen their defence capabilities.”

The war-weariness of the American people (and of the American forces, too) is leading to interesting bedfellows. Both the Left and the Right are opposing the neocons and the humanitarian interventionists. Indeed, it’s becoming more apparent that the differences between the two sorts of warmonger are merely cosmetic; truly, one can’t slip a piece of paper between them (the marriage of Mary Matlin and James Carville, in personal terms, mirrors the political “marriage” of these factions).

Look at this. Interesting, eh? A District-based source told me that General Martin Dempsey is dead-set against a strike on Syria and is leaking intel to both sides of the aisle in order to bollix it. Most of all, Americans are appalled at what their nation has become. It’s time to run out the neocons and the interventionists… but shall we? That’s the question.

A Note to Orthodox people:

The konvertsy are all kneejerk neocons (one sees this in Alexander Webster, Fatso, Reardon, and Mattingly, amongst others). Are they going to “get with the programme” and wise up, or, are they going to “go down with the ship?” That bids fair to be interesting. Stay tuned…
