Pyongyang Accuses Washington of Undermining Inter-Korean Talks

________________________

On Monday, Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the DPRK’s ruling party, wrote that the DPRK accused the USA of attempting to disrupt its dialogue with the ROK. The newspaper wrote:

Washington is preparing to deploy strategic military assets around the Korean Peninsula. The USA is repeating its pledge not to ease sanctions and pressure until the DPRK abandons its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. It is throwing cold water on an atmosphere of reconciliation. The DPRK has various options that it can use against Washington at the appropriate time.

Early this year, we saw the first signs of a thaw in relations between the DPRK and the ROK. The two countries held talks at the ministerial level on 9 January, for the first time since December 2015, in Panmunjom, a small village located in the DMZ. The sides agreed that the DPRK would send a delegation, including officials, to the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang in the ROK. Seoul and Washington also postponed their annual military drills, as they upset Pyongyang.

VVP Calls UAV Attack on Syrian Base “Provocation”… Describes Kim Jong-un as “Very Competent and Mature”

________________________

President Putin said at a meeting with leading Russian media figures:

The UAV attack on the Russian base in Syria was a provocation aimed at destroying previous agreements. The provocateurs weren’t Turkish. We know who they are, who paid who for this provocation, and what the actual sum was. As for this kind of incident, there’s nothing good about them. These actions also aimed at undermining Russia’s relations with Turkey and Iran. We understand it perfectly well, so we’ll work together. The UAVs used in the attack on the Russian base in Syria were disguised as homemade items, but actually had high-tech equipment. As for these attacks, they were undoubtedly well-prepared. We know when and where these UAVs were handed over [to the attackers], and how many of them there were.

President Putin told leading Russian media figures:

We believe it’s necessary to conduct negotiations on the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula. The DPRK has nuclear weapons and an ICBM with a range of about 13,000 kilometres (8,078 miles), which can practically reach any point of the globe, at any rate, it can hit any potential enemy. Now, of course, [Kim] is interested in cooling the situation down. He’s a very competent and mature politician. I think that settlement of the Korean peninsula’s nuclear problem is possible in the end, no matter how difficult it might seem. This could happen if all participants in this process, including the DPRK, could be sure that they could guarantee their security without nuclear weapons.

Kim Jong-un Urges Laying Groundwork For Normalisation of Ties with ROK

________________________

On Sunday, KCNA news agency reported that DPRK leader Kim Jong-un said in an address to the nation:

We must lay the groundwork for normalisation of relations with the Republic of Korea. Our country needs to stick to a policy that’d lead to a breakthrough for an all-embracing unification. It isn’t worth stirring up the past and recalling specifics of relations with Seoul. Instead of this, we must improve relations between the North and South. It’s high time to unite the efforts of the Korean people to put an end to the escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula. It isn’t only about the normalisation of the inter-Korean relations, but about a reconciliation of the nation and its free-will unification.

Editor:

Note well how this differs from the propaganda issuing forth from CNN, the New York Times, the White House, and the Clintonista nutters. You may believe Mr Kim or you may believe the Anglo propaganda. I needn’t tell you where I stand…

By the way, neither Russia nor the PRC has abandoned the DPRK to American aggression. Both still stand committed to its defence in case of American invasion or attack. Don’t forget… Anglo Americans are consummate liars and cheats… “Winning is the only thing”.
