Vladyki Lazar gets it right. America will survive Trump and Clinton. America will survive Paul Ryan and Tom Perez. America will survive Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Serge Schmemann, and Sofiya Kishkovskaya. America will survive the Republicans and Establishment Dems. America IS better than all that. It’ll survive the Age of Greed ushered in by Reagan and the Clintons (and buttressed by Bush II and Obama). It’ll survive the phoney “religion” of the “conservatives” and the “liberals” alike. I have faith in this country of ours and in the solidity and moral fibre of its people… I have none in the Establishment, its media, and its political lapdogs. I’ll confide that I’m not alone in thinking that way.

One last thing… Vladyki Lazar’s take on “sexual minorities” is an almost word-for-word lifting of HH’s attitude on the subject. That should give you an idea on how Orthodox his loudmouth feral rightwing critics are. Interesting world that we live in, no?

America isn’t in such dire straits. America is still strong, and the American people are still an essentially good and generous people. The fear and alarm about that is so ill-placed. What’s alarming is the callous savage attitude of so many rightwing “fearists” against the poor and against children who live in poverty above all. 10 August 2014. Fox News Reports of Donetsk Siege False and Mendacious… Typical Republican Disregard of Reality

Fox News is living up (or should I say, “down”) to its usual standards. It’s reporting that the Galician hillbilly thugs (one can’t call such undisciplined and violent trash soldiers) are surrounding Donetsk!! If that were so, how are foreign volunteers getting into the city? It’s completely untrue… it’s a typical Republican opium dream… it’s much like their substitution of footage from Athens for events supposedly happening in Moscow. Then again, Fox has such stellar lights as Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly on staff (both are loud warmongers who cowardly punked out and refused to serve in the forces themselves). In short, anyone who depends on Fox for the truth is brain-damaged and clueless. No decent person should attend to Fox’s obvious lies. No Orthodox Christian should ever watch or access their anti-Rodina propaganda. Their ideology is 180 degrees removed from anything taught by the Lord Christ; it’s evil and Anti-Christian to the bone (no, Pat Robertson, Glenn Beck, and Franklin Graham aren’t Christians, they’re American Radical Sectarians, something entirely else altogether). You can stand with Roger Ailes and Antonin Scalia (whose defence of “legal torture” is illegal and immoral under the Nürnberg standards) or you can stand with V A Chaplin and HH… I KNOW where I stand on that one…

This is why the US Republican Party is cruisin’ for a bruisin’… it refuses to face reality… when reality doesn’t please them, they simply make things up. After all, it has the likes of Rick Perry (the most supremely corrupt pol in the USA) in its ranks. Take heart… the neoliberal edifice erected by Slobberin’ Ronnie is tottering… it’s why they’re lying about events in the Ukraine. They don’t want you to know how deeply they are in the shit (and their clients are in even worse shape). I gotta walk away from this one… the Fox News zombies aren’t going to listen… they truly believe what these poseurs churn out.

Moral Communist Fairness or Amoral Republican Theft. that’s the choice on offer. Why do the Republicans hate Communism? That’s simple… under communism, they couldn’t steal what they do under crapitalism. They wouldn’t have their house in the “right” swanky suburb or their country club membership or their wetback nannies and gardeners! Poor babies! Choose well… I have. What’s that? Which side of the barricades am I on? I don’t think that I have to spell it out, do I? As I said, choose well, the fate of your immortal soul IS at stake…

There’s this gross wisdom among Teapublicans that they’re always just one candidate away from winning the big one, which is a belief hardwired by their inert ideological purity [it’s interesting to note how these opponents of “political correctness” embody the early-20th-century meaning of the term. There’s an interesting fact about these three great paladins of “patriotism”… all three REFUSED TO SERVE IN THE FORCES, but they beat the war-drums constantly. It’s interesting to note how TPers lionise such cowards. After all, they’re always telling us how patriotic and self-sacrificial they are… it’s another lovely story murdered by ugly reality.

However, don’t argue with TPers… it won’t do any earthly (or heavenly) good, it won’t help them to see to the truth, and (above all) they enjoy fighting! That’s why I stopped corresponding with Whiteford… it wasn’t doing either of us any good; all that he was doing was browbeating me to agree to his loony-tunes rightie nonsense. Step up to that booth, mark your ballot, and put in the box! That’s the only language these creepo supremos understand. Jim DeMint saw the meaning in the tealeaves and left the Senate. What does he know that we don’t?

Pope Francisco Attacks “Savage Capitalism”

HH AGREES with Pope Francisco… their words are similar, no? Reflect on this… all too many priests here in the American diaspora suck up to the Affluent Effluent (or the merely comfortable, that’s how miserable our clergy have become). HH and the Pope of Rome don’t agree with them. It’s simple… you can stand with Pope Francisco and HH, or, you can stand with Victor Potapov, James Paffhausen, Chad Hatfield, Patrick Henry Reardon, and Rod Dreher. It’s your choice…

Sean Hannity… the greatest Catholic in America by his own estimation… probably feels like his head’s about to explode. There’s a crosier-carrying communist behind the wheel of the Popemobile. Considering comments by Pope Francisco yesterday, particularly in the wake of his criticism of “savage capitalism” earlier this year… there’s really no other way the nut jobs on the right can spin it. Francisco is channelling Lenin. According to Reuters, the Pope chucked prepared remarks yesterday at a meeting in Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, and spoke from the heart to a crowd of 20,000 unemployed workers, “including miners in hard hats”. His change of plans came about after he spoke to three unemployed individuals, including the married father of three, who told Francisco that joblessness “oppresses you and wears you out to the depths of your soul”. Francisco responded with real feeling, “I find suffering here. It weakens you and robs you of hope. Excuse me if I use strong words, but where there’s no work, there’s no dignity”.

Later, the Pope celebrated mass in front of 300,000 outside the cathedral in Cagliari and told listeners, “We don’t want this globalised economic system which does us so much harm. Men and women have to be at the centre (of an economic system) as God wants, not money”. Today, unemployment across the island of Sardinia stands at 20 percent, but Francisco said that the problem is worldwide, “the consequence of a world choice, of an economic system that brings about this tragedy, an economic system that has at its centre an idol which is called money”. Of course, Pope Francisco’s Marxist tendencies were in evidence before. As bishop of Buenos Aires, he “sided with unemployed workers in their conflict with government austerity plans, [and] ended his improvised speech [on Sunday] with a prayer asking God to ‘give us work and teach us to fight for work’”.

His comments yesterday only prove what the right must have already suspected. The red banner will soon fly over the Vatican! According to reports in The Guardian, Pope Francico hit out at “unbridled capitalism” this past May. He called for ethical reforms in the financial system to create a more humane society. At the time, Francisco said, “We’ve created new idols. The worship of the golden calf of old has found a new and heartless image in the cult of money and the dictatorship of an economy which is faceless and lacking any truly humane goal”. Calling what we have now “savage capitalism”, Pope Francisco insisted that growing inequality in society was caused by “ideologies which uphold the absolute autonomy of markets and financial speculation, and thus deny the right of control to states, which are themselves charged with providing for the common good”. The Pope also noted last July that a “culture of selfishness” was widening the gap between rich and poor. Then, he called for greater efforts to fight hunger and poverty.

Of course, in Tea Party circles, where the faithful wear WWTD bracelets (What Would Ted Do) in honour of Senator Ted Cruz, these could be classed as “fighting words”. In any case, we now have a leader of the Catholic Church who might argue that raising the minimum wage is just… who might say that limiting executive pay at top American companies (now equal to that of 327 ordinary workers) and pouring some of the excess into other workers’ pockets makes more sense… that insuring needy individual have access to health care is both humane and just. Or, as the crazies on the right might put it… Francisco is nothing more than a Marxist in a mitre. Really, Senator Cruz, just think about it. What was Jesus up to when he gave away all those loaves and fishes?
