18 May 2016. It Could Only Happen in the Rodina, Kids… It Snowed on Monday in Noyabrsk

This was Monday in Noyabrsk, the largest city in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in the Russian Far North. It’s a fairly large place of 100,000; it’s main raison d’être is that it’s the main centre of the West Siberian oil and gas fields. It’s a fairly new city, only being founded in 1977… it’s a bustling place despite the climate…

27 July 2015. This was Yesterday in Vorkuta… NO LIE

Even in Vorkuta, above the Arctic Circle, they have a summer. Sure, it isn’t as hot as more southern climes, but it IS summer, and people can do “summer things”. Well… yesterday, Dame Winter came calling in the midst of summer. The snow didn’t “stick”, but it did fall, and here’s a picture to prove that it happened… winter in July… where was Ded Moroz and Snegurochka?
