Easter Greetings from Comrade Zyuganov… The Bright Resurrection: A Holiday Celebrating Goodness, Justice, and Dignity, and the Unity of All Who Work in the Name of These Unfading Ideals

00 russia may day easter egg 010516

I sincerely and heartily greet you on the Day of Resurrection! For two millennia, this holiday celebrated the triumph of life over the decay, of light over darkness, of loyalty over betrayal, bringing together all people of goodwill. For our country, after two decades of violated dignity, we now see that it’s regained respect and credibility on the world stage, this holiday is a sign of hope for revival and prosperity.

Our country’s foundations lay on pillars that shaped its history for a millennium, creating a vast country stretching from the Baltic to the Pacific, creating a Russian inheritance from the Black Sea to the white expanse of the Arctic Ocean. The most salient pillar is a strong state, without which we couldn’t survive in the midst of such vast spaces. Our historical experience shows us that only a centralised, prudent, and perceptive authority is capable of melding this huge space into a single state sovereignty, to successfully face greedy invaders eager for our riches. However, the pillar of spirituality is no less important, as it undergirds our sense of patriotism and of our selfless loyalty to the Motherland. Spirituality nourishes our warriors, the defenders of our sovereignty; it inspires our authors, inventors, and creators. The next highest ideal is justice, which is a primordial feeling in every Russian. A society that doesn’t respect this principle isn’t respected; it’s unsustainable, doomed to discord and strife. Without justice, without respect to the working class, despite our endeavours and talents, we’d find it impossible to face our current challenges and threats.

We won all of our achievements and victories only due to the fact that these traits are timeless traits of our Russian and Soviet civilisation. This sense of oneness and joint effort helped us to face brutal invasions and restore devastated lands, to create a mighty science,  a spiritualised literature, and elevated arts. This year, it isn’t coincidental that the brilliant celebration of the Resurrection fell on the Red Unity Day of all working people, whose labours create everything necessary for life and work, whose podvigs* defended the country in wars and struggles. It was only possible by uniting our honest intentions, true words, and selfless deeds.

  • Podvig: Should NEVER be “Englished”… one of the most powerful words in the Russian language. There are literally no English equivalents strong enough. Podvig has overtones of “epic”, “heroic”, “bravery”, “self-sacrifice”, “victory”, “effort”, and “triumph”. It’s best to leave it as is, and admit that English lacks the necessary material to give meaning to this word.

In less than six months, we’ll have elections to the highest legislative body in Russia… the RF Gosduma. Let’s be mindful of how important it is to have true and unmercenary people in all bodies, since Russia has already exhausted the storehouse of good gained from our glorious heroic past. We should choose the sort of people who, in the words of Apostle St Paul, “don’t hide by employing idle talk”, to whom we can entrust with establishing just laws in our difficult times. We should elect those who give us confidence in the future, who find their inspiration in justice and spirituality, who place the people’s interests above all. The welfare of the people is the highest interest of the State and of the Motherland.

In this bright and blooming month of May, we’ll celebrate another anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. We still recall how the celebrations in honour of the anniversary of the Victory and the Marches of the Immortal Regiment in Russia and in foreign countries moved us, and how we saw the enthusiasm in Sevastopol and the Crimea on their reunification with the Motherland. Symbolically, on 9 May 1944, the Red Army liberated Khersones Tavrichesky (where Christianity came to Russia) and the Hero City of Sevastopol, exactly one year before the final defeat of fascism and the Great Victory. This year’s parade, with us holding the portraits of those gone into eternity, will occur on soil that’s once-again Russian. On that day, the kids in the Crimea will send thousands of paper “Victory Ships” floating in the Black Sea. “Seven feet under your keel” to heroic Sevastopol and the victorious Crimea!

The words of the poet and philosopher A S Khomyakov spoke of the resurgent “life of the spirit, the spirit of life” of our Motherland, saying of our Rodina’s bright inheritance:

Keep to our integral heritage

Despite the high cost of just affairs;

Preserve our age-old holy brotherhood,

Love its life-giving chalice,

With faith keep its brilliant wealth

In truth, with unsoiled justice.

The Spirit sanctified all of you,

Your heart heard Heaven’s voice,

In the coming days, life has in store

Yet new glories and wonders!

To the feast of the Resurrection of Christ!

To the May Day holiday!

I wish happiness, accomplishment, and the joy of blessed labour to all Orthodox Christians! Peace and prosperity to all people in the world!

1 May 2016. This was May Day in La Habana… The Anglos Had Best Not Get Their Hopes Up Too Far

00 havana cuba may day 2016 010516

This was today’s May Day demonstration in La Habana. Far from being moribund, socialism in Cuba is still strong. Why? It’s simple… Cubans don’t want the Anglo filth to dominate and denigrate them like they did from 1898 to 1960. As one Cuban said:

The Spaniards were bad, but they didn’t look down on us. The Americans not only were worse, they made it clear that they were morally superior to us. I’d die before I’d let the Americans back on the island. My dad fought the American invasion at the Bay of Pigs. I’ll fight them too… he was right.

Cuba isn’t “easy picking’s”… the USA will find that out to its cost…

Today, our correspondent on the scene reported that about 10,000 people gathered at a May Day celebration in Snezhnoe, with a parade passing through the main street of the city. The overwhelming majority of those present wore St George Ribbons; many carried red banners and sang a medley of the old-timey frontline songs, among them the legendary Katyusha and Smuglanka. The Vice-Chairman of the Peoples Soviet, D V Pushilin, joined the locals in the celebration. He told the crowd, “With all my soul, I greet all of you on this holiday. I wish you peace and prosperity. We lacked such popular holidays in the past; definitely, it was good to return to them. This allows us to see who’s on our side on our path to build an independent state”. Pushilin emphasised that there are many for whom this holiday isn’t just mere words about civic duty… they’ve laid the foundations of a new country over the last months, one which future generations can be proud of. For his part, Sergei Kondrykinsky, the head of the public organisation “Young Republic”, said, “I’d like to greet our youngsters on this First of May, they’re honouring our traditions… they’ll stay true to the path of our elder comrades, they’ll help them in every way. We’re for peace, we’re for love, we’re for the DNR”.

Meanwhile, Donetsk homies marched in a festive parade with red banners, singing the VOV frontline songs. Many gathered near the fountains that the city administration turned on today. The First of May morning in Donetsk passed relatively quietly. The responsible security organs told us that they were ready to react to any junta provocations.

DAN Donetsk News Agency

10,000 out of 45,000 people in town showed up for the festivities. I’d say that was popular support. Remember these humble pictures whenever you hear Western caterwauling about “Russian propaganda”… they’re saying that because not only non-Westerners reject them (they don’t care about us… we’re just “white niggers” to the Anglos), but Westerners are starting to listen to the likes of RT, TASS, and Sputnik, because they tell the truth, not the outrageous lies and pabulum served up by CNN, Fox, Reuters, and AFP. RT doesn’t have close to a tenth of the budget of CNN and Fox… yet it scares the bejesus out of the American Establishment. The US media, both “liberal” and “conservative”, whore for the neoliberal Moloch. Both regurgitate the lies of the Pentagon and Foggy Bottom uncritically. Therefore, why should it surprise anyone that people gravitate to the truth?

As for me, I get ZIP… I get NADA… I get NICHEVO… unlike Victor Potapov, who’s a direct (very well-paid) hireling of Langley at “Radio Liberty”… unlike Rod Dreher, who draws a salary from the so-called American Conservative… unlike Freddie M-G, who’s another direct US government hireling at NPR… unlike Sophia Kishkovskaya, who’s part of the NY Times apparat (her Uncle Serge got her the position, no doubt… her work is of abysmally low-quality). There’s also Vassa Larina, a direct hireling of the papists (she tried to bring a Uniate imposter “archimandrite” (her papist sugar daddy) to Jordanville to speak to Orthodox… how much more treacherous can you get?) and John Jillions, who was a direct hireling of the Galician Uniates (!). In short, most of the pro-Western voices amongst us are sell-outs… they’re the ones receiving the pay-packets for spouting pro-American bullshit (especially, Dreher with his smarmy and self-congratulatory self-satisfied upper-middle Republican pseudo-“conservative” hedonism)… not we pro-Russian people, we’re mostly people who do it for love (like me).

People are rising against the Beast… that’s why I support Bernie. We don’t deserve more of the chains that the Corporate/Political Neoliberals and their willing well-paid media hirelings want to put on us (the media hacks are WORSE than the oligarchs are… trust me). That’s what May Day is all about.

¡Venceremos! ¡Salud!

1 May 2015. It’s the First of May! REAL Labour Day! International Day of Labour Solidarity in ALL Countries

00 First of May. 1963. USSR. 01.05.15

We live in a time as low as that of the 1890s or the 1920s… however… did you see the reaction to Bernie Sander’s hat in the ring? All the naysayers are saying that it can’t be done. No, sir… Hilly’s got the money and the oligarchs on her side. I seem to remember that’s what people said in 2007…

Keep the flame going… we might see some light…
