The Weavers in concert in 1963… they paid for their convictions by being put on the McCarthyite blacklist. They’re now silent on this side of the veil…

Songs are dangerous, songs are subversive and can change your life.
Ronnie Gilbert
Only Fred Hellerman is left of the Weavers after the death of Ronnie Gilbert. Lee Hay’s bass voice fell silent first. Last year, it was Pete Seeger… the Clearwater set sail for the last time. The Republican filth blacklisted them in the 50s… in my mind, that means that they were patriots and decent human beings. That’s why I HATE conservatism and everything that it stands for. It’s only resort is to rend and destroy… well, I’ve chosen some pieces with Ronnie’s voice on them. Thanks to modern technology, her voice will live on. I had the privilege of hearing all the Weavers in concert, at one time or another. One light still burns… for how much longer, dear Lord?
Вечная ей память
