The first is more apropos… it means that Dolan and those favouring the rightwing are at odds with their Church. Well, our rightwingers are at odds with HH. Both our righties and the papist righties unite to support Republican filth. Both our First Hierarch and the Pope of Rome oppose the right. Interesting, no? Both our rebellious righties and their papist analogues use the “Pro-Life Movement” as the reason for their rebellion. Tells you much about the Pro-Life Movement and its evil, doesn’t it? There’s a wrong way of being right… a way that converts good into evil. That’s the Pro—Life Movement… no one who’s pro-oligarch, pro-capital punishment, pro-war, and anti-single-payer healthcare can be truly Pro-Life… no one. Unfortunately, for all their bluster, they’re just the usual lot of Mammon worshippers and Pharisees. Do have a care… frauds are about, and they all thump their chests and tell you what great Christians they are.

13 September 2015. Vote AGAINST the Republican Anti-Life Programme

I wrote this 2½ years ago… it’s still as true as ever…

The so-called “March for Life” is coming up. The usual cast of suspects is making the usual Sturm und Drang concerning it. At one time, before I wised up, I supported the Pro-Life Movement. Then, I looked beneath the surface, and what I saw appalled and repelled me. The same pols who supported so-called “Pro-Life” measures were also for:

• perpetual warfare in foreign parts
• the gutting of the social safety net to fund corruption-riddled defence contracts
• opposition to single-payer healthcare to benefit their corporate paymasters
• derisory tax rates upon their wealthy contributors
• the promiscuous use of the death penalty
• the increasing role of the “security state”
• using prison as a “solution” to the so-called “drug problem”
• shitcanning all labour and environmental regulations in favour of libertarian “economic freedom”
• the extending of personal and human rights to corporations

Whew… and that’s NOT exhaustive! In short, they OPPOSED what the late John Cardinal O’Connor rightfully called “the seamless garment”. There’s a reason why Timothy Cardinal Dolan didn’t come out in favour of Wet Willy in the late presidential election… Willy was AGAINST the “seamless garment”, and Dolan couldn’t support him without ripping up Catholic social teaching.

We have loud sorts amongst us. Follow the money… Potapov is (or was) a mid-level US government flunky (a propagandist targeting the Orthosphere, no less!)… Freddie M-G is (or was) an apparatchik at NPR… Dreher and Mattingly are rightwing stink-tankers… Webster is a stink-tanker and a chaplain in the US Army Reserve. When you add in that Lyonyo’s a member of the CFR (Anne Schmemann works in a CFR office that issues mendacious and self-serving apologias for American aggression abroad) and that Serge Schmemann and Sophia Kishkovsky are part of the New York Times Pravda-machine (the jewel in the crown of the American Corporate Media), well, what does that tell you? They’ve all sold out to the godless powers-that-be for a comfortable life and above-average incomes. You can follow Christianity or you can follow Sergianism. It’s interesting… the ones who loudly accused the MP hierarchy of “Sergianism” during the Sov era now stand exposed as Sergianist cheerleaders for Free Market buccaneering and bloodsucking. Fancy that… what they criticised, they now espouse. God DOES have a sense of justice, doesn’t He? Do you want to honour Christ, or shall you worship Mammon (the Almighty Dollar)?

Choose well… your eternal destiny does rest upon it…

I’m not “pope bashing”… trust me, we have sleazeball clergy ourselves. Sadly enough, the crook RC clergy and our bad boys are thick as thieves… you can find them at any “Inter-religious Dialogue“. I’m the first one to say, “I got NO problem with common-garden RCs… they are what they are”… and I’ll confide that they’d probably say likewise about us. I’ll give this much for Timothy Dolan… he’s no Jonas Paffhausen… if one of his clergy got nicked for DUI, they’d be HISTORY. Nevertheless…

Church Paid Sexually Abusive Priests to Leave

On Thursday, a church spokesman said that New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan authorised payments of 20,000 USD (675,000 Roubles. 16,100 Euros. 13,000 UK Pounds) to a handful of sexually abusive priests so that they’d immediately leave the Milwaukee Archdiocese when Dolan was archbishop there nearly a decade ago. On Wednesday, The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) first announced the payments upon discovering minutes of a March 2003 meeting of the Milwaukee Archdiocese Finance Council meeting. SNAP demanded full disclosure of all such payments.

Church officials confirmed the payments as approved in the minutes but archdiocese spokesman Julie Wolf said she had yet to determine how many priests received them, estimating the number at “a handful, a couple. This money has been characterised as bonuses or payoffs, and that’s simply not the case. In 2002 and 2003, when the clergy abuse crisis really came to a head, people were calling for priest offenders to be removed… get them out of there… and the church here agreed in order to expedite that process”.

The payouts encouraged the abusive priests to voluntarily accept laicisation, the process of turning an ordained priest into a layman. Had the priests contested laicisation, it could have taken years, during which time the priests would’ve received salary and benefits, Wolf said. Dolan has become the face of the Catholic Church in the USA since moving from Milwaukee to New York in 2009, becoming president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2010 and being elevated to Cardinal by the Vatican earlier this year.

As you can see, Mr Dolan’s hands aren’t clean. Hmm… is that why he’s making such a fuss over “Obamacare?” The current brouhaha over “Obamacare” isn’t about “freedom of religion”… it’s about hiding the continuing paedophilia scandal amongst the the RCs, and to divert believers’ attention from the latest Curial potboiler.

I’d say this, though… the RCs were able to limit their damage from lawsuits because no Catholic body larger than a diocese exists legally; that is, there’s NO Catholic Church USA, Incorporated. No lie. However, the OCA IS a singular incorporated body… and that means that any claimant could sue the OCA as a corporate body (frankly, I hope that they do, and that they take Syosset to the bloody cleaners). There IS a legal matter pending in Canada, isn’t there? You can see why certain rightwing Catholic and Orthodox clergy are caterwauling about contraception now… to hide the misdeeds of crank clergy. In our case, the Church does NOT forbid artificial contraception… we shouldn’t join such a protest… we don’t have a dog in this fight at all.

Sinful-ginful as per usual… did you truly expect otherwise? Pass me the jug; l’Comedie humaine isn’t boring, is it?
