Local media reported that a Ukrainian man who got into a fight with his girlfriend in a Russian border village stole her father’s tractor and made an apparently-unlawful run for the border. Border guards followed the vehicle’s tracks to the 48-year-old Ukrainian’s house in a village just across the state-line. On Monday, local news website Kharkov.comments.ua said that, reportedly, they found him so drunk that he was barely able to stand. The man, whose identity wasn’t disclosed, faces 15 days in gaol for crossing the border illegally. However, it wasn’t clear whether he would face time for taking the tractor.
