Brisk, But Without Hustle

00 russian naval infantry. kerch. crimea. 21.08.14

______________________________

Our Ukrainian naval infantry battalion rallied to the Russian side. The beginning of 2014 was a rough time for our unit. In December 2013, they transferred us from the army to the Ukrainian Navy. We had to master the basics of naval infantry tactics and modify our training facilities. In late February, our unit faced a detachment of the Crimean forces and it seemed that an attack could come at any time. When we reported the deteriorating situation to higher headquarters, they kept telling us, “Hold on!” Meanwhile, supplies from the Minoborony Ukrainy practically ceased, but well-wishers gave us a special bank card to have money for food. We felt like they’d just abandoned us to our fate.

In early March, soldiers in Russian field uniforms without insignia showed up outside our base. Looking at their kit, we deduced that they were paratroopers. Their CO explained his orders to us… he wouldn’t allow provocations from either side of the fence and he wouldn’t allow any weapons to leave the base. Military professionals could easily assess that these guys were proficient, well-trained, composed, and self-confident. They gave crisp commands, carried them out expeditiously, but without haste. Their signals discipline was good… everything was succinct and unambiguous. Even the way that they carried their weapons showed that they used them as an extension of themselves. Obviously, this was a bunch of pros. Our contractors tried to establish closer contacts with them, but they kept a correct distance. They kept to themselves; they didn’t mingle with the locals who milled about the base entrance.  There wasn’t an ounce of arrogance or bravado in their conduct, but we were well aware that this was a serious set of dudes.

At the same time, we noticed that they sympathised with our difficult situation. Every day, we saw how the contemporary Russian army acts when it carries out live operations. There’s no doubt that this behaviour influenced the majority of my troops to choose to serve under the St Andrew banner. On the day that we were to choose which side we’d serve on, Major General Aleksandr Ostrikov, the commander of the coastal forces of the Black Sea Fleet, came to visit us. With utmost objectivity, correctness, and in full detail, he described the situation and laid out to my people the choices that were before them. The next day, I formed up the battalion and announced that I’d chosen to serve Russia. Three-quarters of my battalion supported me. Now, we engage in intensive combat training, and our training will soon be on par with the terse paratroopers who stood before our gates in those tense days. The battalion understands that we’ll have to put forth more effort to learn the dynamics of our new service. However, it’s worth it if we can follow in the footsteps of those “polite people” in Russian military uniform…

VVP Appoints Former Ukie Navy Big as Black Sea Fleet Big… Biden Sticks His Nose in Business NOT His Own… Russia Tells USA to “Get it Right”

00 admiral denis berezovsky. 21.04.14

Admiral Denis Berezovsky… he rallied to Russia… he chose freedom!

______________________________

On Monday, government media sources said that President Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Rear Admiral Denis Berezovsky, the former commander of the Ukrainian Navy, as a Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet (ChF-VMF) and Rear Admiral Igor Smolyak as the commander of the Nakhimov Higher Naval Institute in Sevastopol. Previously, Smolyak commanded Surface Ship Division 36 of the Pacific Fleet (TF-VMF).

Editor:

By this, VVP’s telling all present-serving Ukrainian officers, “Come on down, brothers! There’s a place at table for you… in your present rank, with no strings attached”. Trust me; professional Ukrainian officers will jump at this. The Nakhimov Order of the Red Star Higher Naval Institute (to use its formal title) is the former professional school of the Ukrainian Navy. That is, the Ukie armed forces not only lack a formed fleet, they’ve lost the necessary logistics/admin/training base to sustain one. Biden can do nothing to remedy this. All that he can do is to hand out lifejackets as the ship sinks. This is yet more proof that the so-called “Ukrainian” state isn’t long for this world.

On Monday, US Vice President Joe Biden will begin a two-day visit to the Ukraine, hours after Right Sector terrorists shattered a fragile Easter truce and patriots in the Donetsk People’s Republic appealed for help from Russia. Biden’s arrival in Kiev comes after a deadly gunfight killed at least two opolchenie fighters in Slavyansk, an incident that sparked “outrage” in Moscow. However, the Western-backed junta in Kiev denied responsibility and claimed that the violence was a Russian provocation. The attack, near the flash point of Slavyansk, undermined an accord worked out in Geneva between Russia, the Ukraine, and Western powers on Thursday under which “illegal armed groups” backed by the junta were to surrender their weapons. The deal, aimed at easing the worst crisis between Russia and the West since the Cold War, now appears stalled.

Vladimir, a 20-year-old opolchenie fighter, said that Sunday’s shootout erupted when four cars pulled up to a roadblock in the early hours, saying, “We wanted to conduct a check, then, they opened fire on us with avtomats. We killed three of them”. An AFP photographer saw two bodies laid out in a truck near the scene. For now, no one knows who the assailants were, as they escaped before the opolchenie could bring in reinforcements. Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, People’s Mayor of Slavyansk and opolchenie commander, said that he believed that two attackers died in the firefight. He declared a 00.00 to 06.00 curfew in the town, and appealed to President Vladimir Putin, to send in troops as “peacekeepers to defend the population against the fascists (what patriots call the junta and its collaborators)”. Later, Ponomaryov said, “If you can’t send peacekeeping forces, send us weapons”.

Biden’s main mentor was a pro-Ustaša fascist Croat RC priest… Biden hasn’t strayed far from that evil upbringing, I’m afraid. We need say nothing more on this ravening Russophobic monster…

Interfax reported that the Russian Presidential Human Rights Council, an advisory body under the Russian Presidential Administration, fears that the Ukrainian crisis might become a large-scale humanitarian catastrophe. It wrote:

The escalating violence and illegality will only lead to a humanitarian catastrophe on a Europe-wide scale at the very least. The political crisis is rapidly driving the multiethnic Ukrainian population towards a catastrophe, largely due to the loss of legitimacy by state institutions, both national and local. It’s taking on alarming forms, and it requires intervention from foreign humanitarian NGOs. All parties in the Ukrainian conflict should refrain from using violence in resolving political issues, rule out using the army and security forces against the civilian population, stop arresting dissidents, and release those already held on political charges. The media should stop escalating its war and civil conflict rhetoric; it should observe and protect the rights of national, religious, and ethno-cultural minorities, and coöperate with international mediating missions, including the Council and its working group for monitoring human rights in the Ukraine. The only way to resolve this crisis is a national dialogue involving all levels of civil society from all the regions, cooperating with international organisations. Our Council is ready to give assistance in organising such a dialogue. We’re adamant… only civil society, not armed force, can ameliorate this crisis. The use of armed force, the shutdown of television channels, the severing of traditional Russian-Ukrainian ties, assaults on political opponents, and hampering the work of journalists and civil activists (including human-rights observers)… all that is a movement away from crisis resolution in the directly opposite direction.

On Monday, local media reported that Yuliya Timoshenko cancelled a planned trip to the USA after congressmen refused to meet with her. Media buzz had it that the trip was to happen on 23 April. However, in the end, Timoshenko herself cancelled it after no high-ranking politician in Washington confirmed a readiness to meet with her. Media stories implied that some US Congressmen suggested that Timoshenko shouldn’t run for the Ukrainian presidency. Last week, she appealed to the US Congress for military assistance to the Ukraine. Timoshenko said that the Ukraine needed “comprehensive assistance, including military-technical aid, such as air defence and anti-tank gear, as well as assistance in training military personnel”.

Editor:

US Congressmen are corrupt, venal, deceitful, and unscrupulous (as a group, they’re the gold standard of corruption on the planet)… but their political radar is nonpareil and they can smell a dead duck at 500 paces. Here’s more evidence that the junta’s not long for this world… and neither is the “Ukraine”.

00 Berkut. COPS. 21.04.14

The Berkutovtsy… the unsung heroes of the Maidan. Their professionalism and cohesion kept casualties down to a minimum on all sides.

______________________________

Former Berkut MVDU spetsnaz reacted sceptically to the junta’s request to return to service two months after so-called “Interior Minister” Arseny Avakov Berkut officially dissolved the Berkut unit. Vladimir Krashevsky, head of the Berkut Veterans’ Association, told reporters “Now, they’re creating a ‘National Guard’ and some other doubtful units manned by kids and old farts, absolutely untrained. It’s nothing but a soap-bubble”. After some Berkut personnel moved to Crimea or Russia, the junta realised that they didn’t have enough reliable professionals in the security forces, so, they decided to invite Berkutovtsy remaining in the Ukraine for family or other reasons to return to service. Krashevsky said, “[The junta] doesn’t control anything. The Right Sector doesn’t obey them. Therefore, Berkutovtsy don’t trust them”. This move came against the backdrop of a continuing trial of a group of Berkutovtsy on charges of their alleged involvement in shooting Euromaidan terrorists. Krashevsky noted, “They’ve made the Berkut into a scapegoat. I doubt that any former Berkut unit will heed the call. For those in the east, that’s entirely out of the question. In central and western regions, they’re also refusing, as far as I know, all the more so that they already know that they’d use them to crack down on the people”. On Easter Sunday, the MVDU issued a statement urging former Berkut units and Euromaidan terrorists to unite “in the face of an external threat”.

Editor:

The Berkutovtsy embody “COPS”… “Conscientious Officers Protect and Serve”… they took casualties to minimise civilian casualties. They followed Yanukovich’s orders NOT to fire unnecessarily on the crowd. Who would YOU want on the street? The disciplined Berkutovtsy or the unbridled Svoboda/Right Sector pigs? THAT’S the choice on offer… there’s no other one…

On Monday, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a press conference in Moscow, “There’s been a surge in appeals to Russia for saving them from this outrage. We’re in an extremely complex position. Those who deliberately pursue a civil war, possibly, in an attempt to start a big serious bloody conflict, are pursuing a criminal policy. We won’t only condemn this policy; we’ll stop it”.

______________________________

A rally in the Odessa at the Kulikovo Field voted to create the Novorossiya (New Russia) People’s Republic and elected Valery Kaurov as People’s President. Kaurov, the Head of the Union of Orthodox Citizens of the Ukraine (SPGU), had to use Skype to address the meeting, as he had to flee the city to avoid arrest by junta thugs. Most expect the newly formed entity to be pro-Russian. In another statement, rally participants said that the Novorossiya People’s Republic recognised the People’s Republics in Lugansk, Donetsk, Kharkov, and Podkarpatskaya Rus. Many people wish to use this historical designation for eight south-eastern regions that the Bolshevik government handed over to the Ukrainian SSR early in the last century.

On Monday, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference, “Attacks are continuing in Slavyansk, Mariupol, and other places in the southeastern Ukraine, as well as attacks carried out by militants in masks, who act ruthlessly. There are more and more calls for Russia to save them from this lawlessness. They’re putting us in a really difficult situation”. A reporter asked Lavrov a question on statements by Kiev and the West that the presence of Russian weapons in the southeastern Ukraine proves Russian involvement. He replied, “I think that this argument is just ridiculous, as there were never any other weapons there. You find Russian weapons everywhere in [the Ukraine]”.

******

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, “Before declaring your ultimatums and demanding that we do something within two or three days, otherwise, you threaten us with sanctions, we’d like to urge our American partners to fully realise their responsibility for those they brought to power. The USA protects the government in Kiev by turning a blind eye to the violence committed by this régime and the militants that it relies on”. Lavrov stated that the American arguments that they found a huge quantity of Russian weapons in the area of clashes and conflicts in the Ukraine are ridiculous, saying, “There’s never been any other weapons there, everybody has Russian weapons there. However, what recent TV reports showed, namely, that American weapons are in the hands of illegal armed formations… that’s something new. These arms were in the hands of illegal armed formations, not the Ukrainian armed forces”.

Editor:

The CIA is getting ready to support Ukrainian terrorists. They supported the UPA bandits until 1954… this is nothing new for them. Sadly enough, there are loud elements in the Galician Uniate diaspora who urge this course of action. These murderous bastards don’t care how many people die or get hurt in their little schemes. The upcoming terrorist actions on the territory of the former Ukraine will have the labels, “Made in the USA” and “Approved by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church”. Mind you, over 95 percent of the Uniates are guiltless of this shit, but they refuse to condemn it… silence betokens consent. That’s too much of a muchness not only for me, but also for many other Orthodox people.

Vladimir Ponomaryov, the People’s Mayor of Slavyansk, told a Vzglyad correspondent, “Were searching for infiltrators and spies. We caught three of them yesterday. We’ve caught over a dozen already, maybe, around 20. Some things better come in doses. Our adversaries also receive information through you, so, we intend to give them as little information as possible. We know that there are traitors among us. So far, however, they’re under control. We’ll take care of them, if necessary”. Earlier, the opolchenie arrested Euromaidan terrorist Irma Krat on suspicion of spying for the Right Sector and of being involved in torturing people on the Maidan in Kiev.

Ponomaryov said, “We’ve arrested several young people for excessive drinking and breaching the peace, and we now have them on labour duty in building barricades. We prohibited alcohol sales in the town from 20.00 until 10.00, and imposed a curfew from 00.00 until 06.00. That’s because we’re in a situation close to war. We want to ensure the safety of our citizens. However, many just don’t understand and go on partying… until they realise what’s going on. We’ve talked to them and they feel remorse. I said before that things would calm down in about two weeks. It’s happening… bit by bit, life’s going back to normal. We’ll convene the Executive Council of Slavyansk on Tuesday, 22 April, to discuss appointments to the local administration. I’ll talk to our incumbent officials. Those who wish to keep their jobs will stay, we’ll sack those who don’t… for sabotage. Schools will reopen on Tuesday after being temporarily shut due to the events that occurred before Easter”.

On Monday, local media reported that patriots in Lugansk announced setting up a joint headquarters for the Southeastern Ukraine based in Donetsk, which would coördinate efforts of patriots in all regions. On Monday, people’s gatherings were in Lugansk and other towns in the oblast to formulate the questions for a referendum that patriot elements are planning to hold on 11 May. ITAR-TASS reported that establishing a federal state, the status of the subjects of that federal state, and the status of the Russian language are amongst issues on the agenda of the planned referendum.

On Monday, Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of the RF Security Council (SBRF), said at a meeting of the SBRF scientific board in Moscow, “The scale of challenges and threats is steadily expanding. Today, the deployment of an American missile-defence system close to the Russian territory, as well as NATO’s enlargement, particularly concerns us. Dramatic events in recent history involving Yugoslavia, Iraq, the Middle East and North Africa, Afghanistan, and the escalation of tensions in the Ukraine raise the level of fear. These events put many nations on the brink of collapse and led to a rise in terrorism and extremism within near to our borders”.

VMF Shitcans Rickety Ukrainian Submarine “Zaporozhe”

00 Ukrainian submarine Zaporozhe. 29.03.14

______________________________

The VMF High Command stated that ex-Ukrainian submarine Zaporozhe is in very poor shape; the Black Sea Fleet (ChF-VMF) refused to take it on strength. The High Command noted that the submarine is 44 years old, it’s outdated, it lacks contemporary combat capabilities, besides which, it hasn’t gone to sea for years. The Minoborony Ukrainy tried to maintain the vessel, but they didn’t do a good job of it. Previously, the sub was part of the Ukrainian Navy, but on 22 March 2014, after the all-Crimea referendum, the ship raised the St Andrew banner. Today, the VMF intends to give the old tub back to the Minoborony Ukrainy. A VMF source told us, “We’ll give it back to the Minoborony Ukrainy; they can use it or get rid of it at their discretion”. Similar boats of Project 641, workhorses of the VMF in Sov times, are long gone from Russian submarine forces; some of them live on as museum ships. The crew of the submarine will go on to serve in the ChF-VMF. Very soon, six new state-of-the art subs building in St Petersburg yards are due to join the ChF-VMF in Sevastopol {some reports say that the Zaporozhe crew will take over a new sub due to arrive in the Crimea soon: editor}.

For 23 years, the “Ukrainian” state hasn’t done shit for the economy, social infrastructure, or the military. Why? The oligarchs and political shitbirds such as Yuliya Timoshenko raped the country and sucked it dry. Crapitalism ran rampant… some of the biggest offenders being loudmouthed diaspora Ukrainians, who came in to help the oligarchs suck up the rich bounty that the Sovs left in the Ukraine. The native and diaspora thieves did such a good job that the Ukraine, once the jewel in the crown of the USSR, is an economic basket-case dependent on foreign handouts. The soil is rich… the earth has many minerals… the population is well-trained and capable… the industry was first-rate. What happened? The Ukraine is an object lesson in crapitalism. This is what happens when “libertarians” get their way and regulation goes by the wayside.

Under the Sovs, shipyards in the Ukrainian SSR built many of the largest ships in the VMF and in the Soviet merchant fleet. They went to rack and ruin under “Ukrainian” rule. The Ukraine built no major warships since independence (the few completed after 1991 were on the stocks prior to the August Events). The independent Ukraine lived DOWN to all the negative stereotypes about “Ukrainians”… which is sad, as most Ukrainians are level-headed, sane, industrious, and pragmatic people. In realistic terms, these people need proper government… that means that they should return to Great Russia. I confide that many do wish that… many pray for that. Let their suffering end… relegate the independent “Ukraine” to the dustbin of history. These people deserve MUCH better than what they received.

Always, reflect on the fact that the USA supported and supported the thieves, not the ordinary scrabbling people. Some great respect for “the rule of law”, wot?

Ukrainian Neofascists Want the Bomb… The Junta Rearranges the Deck-Chairs on the Titanic

On Thursday, military units stationed in the Crimea formerly subordinate to the Minoborony Ukrainy raised Russian flags. The St Andrew banner now flies over 6 warships and 25 auxiliary vessels formerly of the Ukrainian Navy. A Republic of the Crimea (RK) official said, “The commanders of 72 military units, installations, and ships under the Minoborony Ukrainy decided to voluntarily join the Russian Armed Forces for further military service”.

Editor:

When they took the oath of allegiance to Russia, their pay shot up four times… and Russia pays it in full, unlike the Ukrainian kleptocracy under the Timoshenko junta. You can see why the overwhelming majority of Ukie soldiers in the Crimea chose service for Russia… you can’t eat “independence”.

On Thursday, two People’s Deputies from the Fatherland faction (Timoshenko clique) and one from the UDAR faction (Klichko clique) submitted a draft law denouncing the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) of 1 July 1968 to the Rump Rada. The draft will go to the relevant committees for a review. Neofascist People’s Deputy Lyashko demanded at the plenary session on Thursday that the Ukraine should acquire nuclear arms.

Aren’t you glad that the junta doesn’t have the bomb? If it did, the unhinged fanatics would fire a missile at Moscow out of sheer hate and for shits n’ giggles. We need to put this feral junta down before it does something goofy and downright murderous. Reflect on the fact that American neocons support these nutters… and that certain elements in our Church do, too (to our shame, using “Pro-Life” as a figleaf). Ukrainian nationalists aren’t wrapped overly tightly (they defile Christmas parties with anti-Russian diatribes and performances… that’s fanatical). Preliminary reports stated that the fire started in the unit’s equipment depot”. Two tanks with full ammunition burst into flames in a garage. Firemen put out the fire at 21.00 MSK, but as of 22.30 MSK, rounds were still cooking off and exploding. The authorities evacuated residents near the base. Half an hour later, people started to go back home. There were no reports on the cause of the incident, nor are there any reported injuries.

President Vladimir Putin stated at a meeting of the Russian Security Council that Russia wouldn’t engage in retaliatory sanctions against the USA nor would it introduce a visa régime in re the Ukraine. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Kiev continues to make contradictory statements about relations with Russia, noting, “In particular, they made some statements that they’d stop or ‘suspend’ participation in the SNG, and that they’d introduce a visa régime with Russia. In this regard, if it happens, we’d report our options to you”. President Putin said, “With regard to both the American sanctions and the introduction of a visa régime by the Ukrainian government, for now, I think that we need to refrain from retaliatory measures. As far as introducing visas for the Ukraine, if we introduced them, millions of completely innocent Ukrainians would suffer. They’re already having a hard time, working in Russia, earning what little money they can to support their families. We shouldn’t do such a thing”.

Presidential Press Secretary Dmitri Peskov told Vedomosti, “There’s no longer such a thing as a gas discount for the Ukraine for stationing the Black Sea Fleet. It can no longer be applied either de jure or de facto”. If one returns to gas price formation under the 2009 agreement, the addendum to it on the fleet signed by Viktor Yanukovich won’t be valid. Yanukovich and then-President Dmitri Medvedev signed an agreement that extended the Black Sea Fleet’s presence in the Crimea in return for a 100 USD (3,625 Roubles. 112 CAD. 111 AUD. 73 Euros. 61 UK Pounds) per 1,000 cubic metres gas discount under the 2009 accord in Kharkov in 2010. With this discount applied, the Ukraine paid around 400 USD (14,500 Roubles. 448 CAD. 444 AUD. 292 Euros. 244 UK Pounds) per 1,000 cubic metres (35,300 cubic feet) of gas last year. After the Ukraine refused to sign an association agreement with the EU in December, Gazprom (MOEX: GAZP) reduced the gas price to 268.5 USD (9,740 Roubles. 300 CAD. 296 AUD. 195 Euros. 163 UK Pounds) per 1,000 cubic metres as of January. The Ukraine’s debt to Gazprom now tops 1.8 billion USD (65.25 billion Roubles. 2.01 billion CAD. 1.98 billion AUD. 1.3 billion Euros. 1.1 billion UK Pounds). Earlier, Gazprom CEO Aleksei Miller said that the company decided not to extend the discount starting in April because of the debt.

Chairman of the Government Dmitri Medvedev wrote on his Facebook page that radicals, militants, and bandits seized power in the Ukraine, an extremely dangerous move that could collapse the state. Medvedev noted that Crimea and Sevastopol made a choice, so, Moscow’s goal is friendly relations with the Ukraine and its other neighbours. An extralegal putsch took place in the Ukraine on 22 February; the Rump Rada ousted President Viktor Yanukovich, changed the Constitution, scheduled new elections for 25 May, and named Aleksandr Turchinov {an old-time pal and fellow thief of Timoshenko: editor} acting “President”. Yanukovich said that threats against his life forced him to leave the leave Ukraine, but that he remained the legally elected head of state. Moscow believes that Rada’s actions are questionable at best. Medvedev said, “The power belongs to various radicals, militants, and bandits. They make the final decisions. Most likely, they’d make them after 25 May, too. It makes no sense for them to share power with others. They’re masters in the streets and at the entrances to administrative buildings. This is an extremely dangerous situation. This type of rule inevitably leads to the collapse of the state”.

Editor:

Do note that the situation in the Ukraine gets MURKIER by the day. Two mobilisations occurred… no one showed up. The economy’s at a standstill… oldsters aren’t getting their pensions… the army lacks the money to move (and it lacks the will to fight)… Euromaidan commissars are now in the forces… unelected government “leaders” issue contradictory orders… and a “National Guard” of Maidan thugs replaced the steady and professional Berkutovtsy (who killed very few rioters, considering the provocations and violence offered against them).

Usually, by this time, putschists consolidate their power. Such isn’t so here. It’s a slo-mo replay of the August events. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT’S GOING ON. NO ONE. It’d be stupid for me to issue an opinion on the junta’s longevity. However, people are suffering and desperate for food… that isn’t a mark of stability, is it? May the junta’s days be short… to ease the suffering of the people. Why is the USA supporting such evil? Why are some people in the District in our Church supporting such evil? Ask them… I haven’t the foggiest…

On Friday, hours after Kiev signed the political part of its association agreement with Brussels, the EU announced a 1.4 billion USD (51 billion Roubles. 1.57 billion CAD. 1.54 billion AUD. 1.02 billion Euros. 850 million UK Pounds) increase in its aid package to the Ukraine. UNIAN quoted junta “Prime Minister” Arseny Yatsenyuk, “The EU decided to increase financial aid to the Ukraine from 610 million Euros (30.5 billion Roubles. 842 million USD. 944 million CAD. 926 million AUD. 510 million UK Pounds) to 1.61 billion Euros (80.6 billion Roubles. 2.22 billion USD. 2.49 billion CAD. 2.45 billion AUD. 1.35 billion UK Pounds). The EU will transfer over two billion US dollars to Ukrainian government accounts to stabilise the Ukrainian economic situation. The deadline for the transfer is late April or early May” {how much of it will stick to Yatesnyuk’s fingers? After all, he has a mansion next to Yanukovich’s to maintain, dontcha know: editor}. On Friday, Yatsenyuk travelled to Brussels to sign the political provisions of an EU association agreement, covering issues of “democracy”, judicial “reform”, and other civil society aspects. The full accord also includes an economic section, which envisages a free trade zone between the Ukraine and the EU {which would doom Ukrainian industry… there’s surplus capacity in Western Europe; the EU wants to flood the Ukraine with its goods, no matter what the suffering to Ukrainians: editor}. Yatsenyuk said that the junta would sign the economic part of the agreement, rejected by the previous government for fears of significant economic losses, only after the presidential election due on 25 May.

Editor:

This “aid”, which is really a loan, isn’t what it seems to be. Most of it’s going to Western creditors… the rest is only enough to run the country for less than a month. Besides which, it won’t come in for another month… and the junta needs money NOW. Remember, the Ukrainian economy lies knackered and idle… and shall continue to be so if the Ukraine actually goes through with the harebrained scheme of “European integration”. The Ukraine would lose Russian business, whilst gaining no new business from the EU (the EU, especially Germany, sees the Ukraine as a dumping ground for surplus goods and a cheap labour source, not a real trading partner). That is, the only way that the junta can survive is as a mendicant… and EU/IMF/ECB conditions would doom the junta. Don’t be smug… it means SUFFERING for Ukrainians in the near term. That’s why all who support the American/EU policy are disgusting and vile (especially, the clerics… they’re the worst). Our people will starve so that McMansion pukes can party hearty and play tennis at the country club. Now, that’s EVIL…

What will the EU and the USA do if the Ukrainian state collapses and Russia refuses to honour its debts? Now, that’s interesting, no?
