According to a poll released on Thursday, by a huge majority, Americans support laws legalising marijuana and criminalising Congress. While the poll reflects a relaxation of attitudes about recreational pot use, it also suggests that many Americans now view membership in Congress as a problem ravaging the nation. Harland Dorrinson, an activist who spent years mobilising support for criminalising Congress, said, “This poll reinforces what many of us have been saying for a long time… Congress destroys lives. I’ve seen productive members of society get involved with Congress and completely lose the will to work. They just sit there, totally numb, and out of touch with reality”. He noted that the once prevalent view that membership in Congress was “harmless” is now being discredited. He said, “If you look at what happens to someone’s brain after ten, twenty, or even thirty years in Congress, it’s devastating. There’s severe impairment”. Additionally, he warned that Congress is a “gateway elective office” that leads many to try running for President.

Godless Neoliberal Republican Filth Want to Cut SSD… Where are “Consistent Life” and the Rest of the Pro-Lifers? THEY’RE MIA!

01 he ain't heavy he's my brother

Remember, for the Republicans, “Greed is Good”… and “He that doesn’t work, won’t eat”… both of which are un-Christian to the max. Yet… Consistent Life still supports greedster GOP pols and continues to associate with them.

On Thursday, US Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said during a floor speech that Republicans in US Congress are aiming to slash Social Security disability benefits by 19 percent next year, saying, “I wanted to discuss an issue of very serious concern to tens of millions of Americans, and that is the Republican effort to cut social security disability insurance benefits”, accusing the Republicans of trying to “lay the groundwork for a 19 percent cut in disability benefits next year”. Sanders explained that the House of Representatives adopted a rule on the first day of the new Congress that’d restrict the President’s ability to transfer funds from Social Security’s retirement account to the disability fund, noting, “Mr President, the Republicans are manufacturing a crisis where none exists”.

Sanders pointed up that since the 1960s, US presidents from both parties repeatedly employed this process to affect funds transfer into the disability account, stating, “There are some people who, sadly, are trying to divide the senior population from the disability population”. However, Republicans repeatedly expressed their concerns that Obama was unwilling to reduce or cap mandatory entitlement programs, as spending on Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare may nearly double over the next decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

On 25 January, media reports said that House Budget Committee Chairman Tom Price said it wasn’t wise to continue to take from the Social Security trust fund to prop up the disability fund. In his 2016 budget, US President Barack Obama said that he’d oppose any measures that slashed Social Security benefits for future generations or reduced basic benefits for current beneficiaries. On Monday, US President Barack Obama submitted a nearly 4 trillion USD (269 trillion Roubles. 25 trillion Renminbi. 248 trillion INR. 5.02 trillion CAD. 5.14 trillion AUD. 3.54 trillion Euros. 2.63 trillion UK Pounds) fiscal budget proposal to Congress; law mandates that he present such a budget annually. In response to Obama’s proposal, Congress will send its version of a budget to the White House, which the president then has to sign-off on.

Editor:

“Pro-Lifers” such as “Consistent Life” are shameless whores for Republican “conservatives”… so, I wouldn’t hold my breath as far as waiting for them to break with the GOP filth over the Republican war on the Social Safety Net. That’s nasty… allying with someone because they’re anti-abortion… but against everything else that Christ taught. That’s a clear sign of not only misplaced priorities, but also delusion on the most major scale. The Church teaches SYMPHONIA… the cooperation of Church and State, and that the state has a role, a major one, in our lives, both societal and personal. “Libertarianism” is nothing but rightwing anarchism… no Orthodox Christian can believe in it nor associate with its votaries without effectually denying their faith. That means that people like Fathausen aren’t only spoilt brats (he refused to live within the budget allotted him by the Holy Synod), they’re heretics of the most noisome sort… for they oppose Symphonia, a basic and foundational teaching of the Church. We do live in a crank world…

Perhaps You Missed It: We’re at War with Russia

00 evil uncle sam. 28.05.14

_______________________________

The USA is waging economic, financial, trade, and political war against Russia and even kinetic war-by-proxy in the Ukraine. Worryingly, nobody in power in the USA or Europe really seems willing to tell us exactly why. From the Russian point of view, everything from its plunging rouble to bitter sanctions to the falling price of oil is the USA’s fault, either directly or indirectly. Whether that’s fair is irrelevant; that’s the Russian POV now. Therefore, no surprise, it doesn’t dispose them toward goodwill negotiations with the West generally and the USA specifically. Until the arrest Monday of an alleged Russian spy in the Bronx, the anti-Russian stance in the American media had quieted down significantly, presumably, as the political leadership moved its attention on to other things, leaving Russia largely out of the American news cycle. Throughout, though, there continued to be plenty of serious action taking place in Russia and the Ukraine… including what one could describe as a re-escalation of the conflict in Novorossiya… as well as related activity in the USA deserving of our careful attention.

The USA (via John Kerry) and NATO steadily accused Russia of having funnelled hundreds of tanks, APCs, and other heavy equipment to the Novorossiyan forces. These assertions bring to mind the Sherlock Holmes case of the dog that didn’t bark, where the absence of a piece of evidence leads us to a very different conclusion than the one the American political establishment would like us to believe. The sorts of weaponry that NATO and the USA charged Russia with providing are virtually impossible to hide from the air. Snapping high-resolution photos of such war machinery is child’s play for today’s military satellites, and even civilian ones too. If the assertions were true, we should’ve seen a flood of photographs of Russian heavy equipment every step of the way as it passed into the Ukraine. However, no one offered such, not even one so far. Moreover, the simplest explanation for this is that none exists. If they did, you can be 100 percent certain that the US government would’ve released them and had them replayed repeatedly on CNN until everybody and their uncle could distinguish a T-72 tank from a T-64.

What concerns me even more than these undocumented charges are two especially ill-conceived, if not overtly confrontational, pieces of legislation passed by Congress in December. The first is H.Res 758, passed on 4 December, which, amongst other charges, accused Russia of having invaded the Ukraine, again without providing or referring to any sort of evidence photographic or otherwise. Entitled “Strongly condemning the actions of the Russian Federation, under President Vladimir Putin, which has carried out a policy of aggression against neighbouring countries aimed at political and economic domination” the resolution has a variety of one-sided assertions and leaves no diplomatic wiggle room for the possibility that Russia sees what’s transpired in the Ukraine differently. According to Ron Paul, these sorts of resolutions are dangerous because they politically commit the American political structure to rigid stances that’re politically difficult to back down from; historically, they’ve been a stepping stone on the path to war.

On 11 December, the Senate passed the Ukraine Freedom Support Act of 2014, or S.2828. This goes even further than merely condemning Russia; it authorises distributing both lethal and non-lethal military aid to Kiev, including sniper and assault rifles, mortars and shells, stinger missiles, anti-tank missiles, night vision goggles, radar systems, and a host of other hardware items. If we turned the tables around, if it were Russian lawmakers passing a resolution condemning the USA for a variety of international crimes for which they offered exactly zero proof, then, actively armed a dangerous conflict right on the American border, I think we all know just how ablaze with indignity the American political leadership would be, and rightly so.

Therefore, it isn’t surprising that Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Aleksandr Lukashevich said in response, “Both houses of the US Congress approved the Ukraine Freedom Support Act bypassing debates and proper voting. The overtly confrontational message of the new law can’t but evoke profound regret. Once again, Washington levels baseless sweeping accusations against Russia and threatens more sanctions”. The bizarre part of this story is that I can’t yet find any credible analysis or commentary explaining exactly what American interests in the Ukraine are so compelling as to risk increasing confrontation with Russia. Moreover, it bothers a great many analysts that the USA is on an increasingly combative course with yet another country without providing any evidence in support of its accusations and actions… again.

In response, Russia is rapidly withdrawing from additional dialogue with the USA and Europe, drawing ever closer to China, Turkey, and India. Russians feel that they’re already under siege from the USA, and that the USA has already committed acts of war. Despite being almost completely out of the American news cycle, events are in and around the Ukraine situation are actually picking up pace. On 15 January, junta strongman Poroshenko signed a decree mobilising 50,000 new servicemen to the front lines, whilst Russia announced that Europe would have to accept gas via Turkey, it’s shutting down the route through the Ukraine. This situation remains much more fluid and nuanced than the Western media is telling us, with much more to this story than a short column allows, those interested in delving deeper can read our latest report here.

In short, the situation is getting more strained, not less, and it has the very real chance of blossoming into something far larger and more deadly than the sparse coverage in the Western press might imply. If it looks like a war, acts like a war and smells like a war, it may just be a war. These events should concern everyone greatly, but especially European readers.

4 December 2014. Republicans Turn US House of Representatives into “House of Shame”… Condemn “Russian Aggression” and Give Apache Sacred Land to Godless Developers

00 Political cartoon. He doesn't see. He doesn't hear. He keeps quiet (when he's paid enough). 02.11.13

______________________________

Read this and this. Let’s not waste our time. This is proof that the US Republican Party is godless and without shame. No Orthodox Christian can vote for such nor should we even associate with such depraved filth. They attack our ancestral Motherland and Faith… not only does this resolution testify to that, do recall how Ted Cruz recently spat on Arab Orthodox leaders. If Orthodox have anything to do with such theomachistic shits, we should shun and ostracise them. After this, I’d say that all Orthodox who belong to the Republican Party should leave it. The anti-Russia resolution shows the anti-Orthodox mindset of the GOP, whilst the rape of the Apache sacred land shows that they have contempt for all religion (they’d sell their mothers’ graves if they’d profit on it!). I’d say that you can worship Almighty God and honour decency, or you can worship the Almighty Dollar and stand for naked sinful greed. It shows that the Republicans’ so-called “Pro-Life” platform is a sham, a figleaf to cover their undisguised covetousness and Know-Nothing hatred of other cultures. Pro-Life? I’d think NOT! Don’t you get taken in, either! Orthodoxy or the Republican Party… which do YOU stand for? You can’t stand for both!

This gives you the full measure of Victor Potapov, JP, Terry Mattingly, Alexander Webster, Lyonyo Kishkovsky (and his daughter Sofia), S A Schmemann, Rod Dreher, John Whiteford, and Darrell Issa. I don’t believe that any of them are repentant (indeed, they see themselves as shining white knights), nor do I expect any of them to deviate from their course. Do act accordingly…
