On Friday, a bomb blast ripped through the headquarters of the Norwegian tabloid VG, which was next to Norwegian government offices in Oslo.

State media said two people died, while police said there were “deaths and injuries”.

There were earlier reports of eight injured.

The shock wave from the blast smashed most of the windows in the 17-storey building, as well as those in the buildings of government ministries located nearby. It also damaged the building of the Oil Ministry, where there was a minor fire.

Emergency personnel evacuated all of the offices in the immediate vicinity of the explosion.

Norwegian police sources confirmed that a bomb went off in the centre of Oslo.

No Russians suffered any injuries because of the explosion.
