Ike on the Dedication of the Islamic Centre in DC… It’s NOT Trump the Chump… Mutual Respect, Not “Multiculturalism”, That’s the Ticket

________________________

It’s a privilege to take part in this ceremony of dedication. Meeting with you now, in front of one of the newest and most beautiful buildings in Washington, it’s fitting that we re-dedicate ourselves to the peaceful progress of all men under one God. I’d like to assure you that under the American Constitution, under American tradition, and in American hearts, this Centre, this place of worship, is just as welcome as could be a similar edifice of any other religion. Indeed, America would fight with her whole strength for your right to have here your own church and worship according to your own conscience. This concept is, indeed, a part of America, and without that concept, we’d be something else than what we are.

The countries that sponsored and built this Islamic Centre have for centuries contributed to the building of civilisation. With their traditions of learning and rich culture, the countries of Islam have added much to mankind’s advancement. Inspired by a sense of brotherhood, common to our innermost beliefs, we can here together reaffirm our determination to secure the foundation of a just and lasting peace. Our country has long enjoyed a strong bond of friendship with the Islamic nations; like all healthy relationships, this relationship must be mutually beneficial. Civilisation owes to the Islamic world some of its most important tools and achievements. From fundamental discoveries in medicine to the highest planes of astronomy, the Muslim genius has added much to the culture of all peoples. That genius has been a wellspring of science, commerce and the arts, and has provided for all of us many lessons in courage and in hospitality.

This fruitful relationship between peoples, going far back into history, becomes more important each year. Today, thousands of Americans, both private individuals and governmental officials, live and work… and grow in understanding… amongst the peoples of Islam. At the same time, in our country, many from the Muslim lands… students, businessmen, and representatives of states… enjoy the benefits of experience amongst the people of this country. From these many personal contacts, here and abroad, I firmly believe that there will be a broader understanding and a deeper respect for the worth of all men, and a stronger resolution to work together for the good of mankind.

As I stand beneath these graceful arches, surrounded on every side by friends from far and near, I’m convinced that our common goals are both right and promising. Faithful to the demands of justice and of brotherhood, each working according to the lights of his own conscience, our world must advance along the paths of peace. Guided by this hope, I consider it a great personal and official honour to open the Islamic Centre, and I offer my congratulations to its sponsors and my best wishes to all who enter into its use.

16 May 2016. What Groupthink Does to (Originally) Good People

01 Lemming Political Parties

______________________________

People outside of the Beltway can hardly imagine the Alice in Wonderland Cloud-Cuckoo Land that is the District (Washington DC). The strangest notions reside there… many of them planted by interested pressure groups. In re Russian policy, three pressure groups guide American policy, not reality. Most people are well aware of the Jewish Lobby, but I’m not going to discuss that here (others have done so… sadly, Anti-Semitism mars too much of that commentary). Two pressure groups that exert much effort in influencing policy in Washington are the Balts (Estonian, Latvian, and Baltic German anti-communist émigrés) and “Ukrainians” (actually Galician Uniates and schismatics).

For instance, the Galicians have a fictive narrative about the current junta in the Ukraine. All US government apparats and their apparatchiks must follow it, even in private affairs, or they lose their situations, simply put. Recently, on Facebook, I ran into someone calling themselves “Craig Cartier”… what was interesting was that this person repeated the Uniate bullshit line chapter and verse. You know it all… Russia planned the current crisis… Yatsenyuk fled to Moscow… Russia staged the Novorossiya and Crimean referenda… Russian troops are in Novorossiya… that same old diseased and false story. The Uniates always blame Russians for everything (they probably lay the blame for the heartbreak of psoriasis and bad breath in dogs on Russians, too).

What’s important in this is that not only deluded apparatchiks like Mr Cartier swallow this whole… one finds that even more level-headed sorts repeat it and call it true. You must understand that it’s very difficult to swim against any tide… but it’s doubly hard if one loses one’s reputation (if not livelihood) over it. What made Mr Cartier’s commentary interesting is that if it were correct, it’d be a major security breach involving classified material, but since it was just windy bullshit, it was just a sign of an ambitious and conforming ignoranus kowtowing to the Galician nutter narrative. It was interesting that a more grounded person defended this poseur, but, again, do understand that if one doesn’t support the given narrative, bad things tend to happen.

Don’t expect the truth from certain sorts. In some cases, they know the truth, but they can’t speak it because it’s inexpedient. In other cases, they know the truth, but they won’t speak it, out of ambition. In still others, they’re the proverbial “frog boiled by degrees”; they don’t realise that they lie and defend a rotten cause. They truly believe that they’re speaking the truth. The last are the saddest of the lot. They’re dupes. I’d call the first group moral cowards and weak… they cause bad, but don’t intend it. The second group is the worst… they know the truth and do evil, without regard for the consequence. This group is demonic.

Have a care… the times are NOT good. Always ask, “Cui bono?” Besides that, look to see if they’re free to act on the truth or not. In all-too-many cases, they’re not…

18 June 2014. More Cabinet Input on Fatso

00 a whisper in the loggia. 08.12

______________________________

I’m getting more Cabinet comments on Fatso. One whisper in the loggia went like this:

What I know about JP is this… a family member spoke to a parishioner at St Nick’s Sobor in DC and they said that the OCA released JP to the ROCOR, and he’s serving at St Johns Sobor in the District, BUT he’s still living in the house to next to St Nick’s. Someone on the Metropolitan Council is paying the tab.

I also received this:

JP’s still telling people that he’s released to the ROCOR… he just can’t help himself. He’s also serving and lecturing at St John the Baptist (ROCOR). The Monomoron crowd is very quiet about the picture showing him serving with Peterson and Brittain.

Both of these reports contain truth. No, I don’t think that JP has a release… but the people in DC think that he has. After all, JP is a VERY convincing liar… he did manage to hang on to power in the OCA longer than most of us dreamed possible. Of course, part of it is his demented little claque, who remain as loyal as ever to their wayward shepherd. He hasn’t moved (I’ve got that from three disparate sources) and he’s still drawing a OCA stipend. A OCA priest confirmed for me that the OCA Holy Synod hasn’t acted… JP demands that he continue to receive his OCA stipend in perpetuity after he switches and the OCA Holy Synod won’t buy that (one source said that JP threatened legal action to keep his stipend even after his transfer).

At the Centre, when the Holy Synod acts, the Journals (Decisions) go up that very day on patriarchia.ru… that’s so situations like this one don’t occur. It’s time to shit or get off the pot. If Paffso wants to go… let him go. However, there are two caveats. Firstly, he must forego his OCA stipend as he’d no longer be a hierarch of the OCA (besides which, he’s badmouthed the OCA Holy Synod… they shouldn’t subsidise a layabout malcontent). Secondly, and more importantly, this has to have the Centre’s blessing… AND IT DOESN’T. HH (or someone close to him) is putting up a roadblock to this… why, I don’t know (neither does anyone else). I’d hazard a guess and say that it’s Mark Golovkov, HH’s “shadow foreign minister”, and the man in charge of MP foreign establishments (which WOULD include the ROCOR). However, I don’t know that for certain… no one does, frankly. Yet, it’s obvious that this shindig won’t happen without Peredelkino’s OK, and that hasn’t come. Sit tight…

Great Friday News: Moscow Zoopark Groundhog Wakes Up, Spring Coming Soon! Shall Surok Surokovich Replace Punxsutawney Phil? Ya NEVER Know…

01ac Groundhog Day

______________________________

The Moscow Zoopark announced on Facebook, “Friends, we have good news. Spring is coming soon. Our groundhog woke up”. Groundhogs come out of hibernation when temperatures start to rise. Hibernation is less like a deep sleep and more like a coma; the groundhog’s heart rate plunges, blood scarcely flows, body temperature drops to a few degrees above freezing, and breathing nearly stops. Towards the end of their hibernation period, groundhogs awaken briefly several times and pop out of their burrows to check the weather. They may or may not go back to sleep depending on how cold or warm the weather is. After they emerge from hibernation, groundhogs live on their remaining body fat for a couple of weeks to bring their digestive organs back to normal and to prepare for the mating season. They disguise entrances to their burrows to protect them from predators. Mating starts after groundhogs put on some weight.

Groundhogs offer their weather predictions not only in Russia. In the tiny Pennsylvania town of Punxsutawney, a groundhog weatherman named Punxsutawney Phil made his forecasts since 1887. According to groundhog.org, after the animal appeared in the philosophical comedy film Groundhog Day in 1993, record crowds numbering as many as 30,000 went to the event. With a shadow powerful enough to lift spirits… or dash them… Phil met Pennsylvania governors, appeared on national television talk shows, and on New York City‘s Times Square JumboTron. In 1986, he even travelled to Washington to meet with US President Ronald Reagan. This year, Phil saw his shadow on 2 February, signifying six more weeks of winter.
