Admiral St Fyodor Ushakov the Holy Warrior: Believer, Patriot, Hero, and Saint… all at once!

Admiral St Fyodor Ushakov isn’t only the patron saint of the Russian Navy, he’s also the heavenly patron of the Dalnaya Aviatsiya, the long-range bomber force. I believe that he’s also the patron of the RVSN (the land-based strategic missile force), but I’ve only heard that orally, I’ve not seen it in print… so, this could be or not, as it is. We’ve many “military” saints… Grand Prince St Aleksandr Nevsky, Tsar-Martyr St Lazar of Serbia, and Grand Prince St Dmitri Donskoi come to mind. Amongst the Westerns, the only one that I know offhand is St Louis IX, King of France… there must be others, no doubt. There’s something NOT in doubt, the radical peacenik position is not traditional amongst Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, or Catholic peoples. All have sainted heroes.
