Moriak is due to be reinstated soon; my sources tell me that it’s a done deal. What’s more, I get the impression that the local media is sniffing around the story… which is confirmation of the buzz. Lyonyo and Jillions have nothing but contempt for you, whilst Mollard sits back with his vacuous grin and plays with his little dog… what a wonderful day in the neighbourhood… the agonising scene in the Syosset Führerbunker is playing out to the painful last line, no?

Vatican Sez Conclave to Choose New Pope of Rome May Begin Before 15 March

On Saturday, Vatican official spokesman Fr Federico Lombardi said that the conclave to elect a successor to Pope Benedict XVI Ratzinger could start before 15 March if all the cardinals are already in Rome. The conclave of 117 cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church is expected to start between 15 and 18 March, about two weeks after Pope Benedict’s resignation on 28 February. Under the church rules, the conclave should begin between 15-20 days after the papacy becomes vacant, to give cardinals time for the arrival in Rome. According to Fr Lombardi, the cardinals already know the pope’s resignation date and can convene in Rome before 15 March. Pope Benedict, who became the 265th Pope of Rome in 2005 following the death of his predecessor John Paul II Wojtyła, announced his resignation due to old age and failing health on 11 February. The last pope to step down before his death was Gregory XII Corraro in 1415.

However, I’ll say that Benny’s downright ANXIOUS to nail down his successor. That, to me, prefigures either a very short or a very long conclave. Afghan Girl Who Converted to Christianity Obtains Russian Residence Permit

This was Afghanistan BEFORE the American intervention and its aid to the Islamist rebels. Any questions?

On Friday, the Federal Migration Service told VOR that a young Afghan woman who converted from Islam to Christianity received a residence permit in Russia. Now, she can stay and work here. Earlier, Russia granted the girl temporary asylum, as she faced capital punishment in Afghanistan. Ruya Ivaz Ali,19, came to Russia from Afghanistan through Tajikistan with her family in 2011, but later her parents fled and abandoned her.

A spokesman for the Federal Migration Service told VOR that Ruya Ivaz Ali, a young Afghan woman detained in Russia, obtained release from a detention centre, adding that the young Muslim who converted to Christianity would receive temporary resident status soon. Russia offered the 19-year-old refuge since she might face capital punishment if repatriated to Afghanistan, after having converted to Christianity. Ruya moved to Russia together with her family in mid-2011 through Tajikistan, where they’d lived for several years. Her father lodged a plea for refugee status with Russia, but was denied it. When Ruya’s family suddenly vanished, the girl found herself alone in a foreign country, so, she turned to the government for help. She applied for refugee status on religious grounds. Now, the young Afghan Christian plans to look for a job in Russia.

Here’s some buzz that a Cabinet member sent on. I don’t have any verification, so I’ll run it as “it’s what out there” without an imprimatur of any sort:

When, in the course of events, Kondratick “landed” in Venice FL, the behind-the-scenes arrangements involved an  individual who’d also been a minor figure at Syosset  That person laundered money through the Venice parish to “pay” Bobby’s salary. The source of the funds can be left to one’s imagination. I’m not sure how many of those in the parish were aware of these arrangements. It’s way too small a parish to be able to pay such a salary from regular funds. So, to some extent, some of the parish leaders must have been complicit in knowing and assenting to these arrangements. Monk James has been supremely silent on this latest development.

I do NOT vouch for this… this is what’s floating around out there. After all, how DID the Venice parish pay his salary? It was 40 Gs (1.21 million Roubles. 29,900 Euros. 25,800 UK Pounds) a year, after all. Interesting question, no?
