I wrote this to a friend:

I was talkin’ with Matushka Nina Stroyen on the phone yesterday. Things aren’t going well for JP & Co… the ordinary peons are getting restless. You’re not the only person in your position. I get e-mails out of the blue on this and on that. It’s all too common… especially amongst former Anglicans posing as Orthodox priests. Here’s the funny thing… most of the Anglican clergy that I know are decent sorts… what they tell me is that the ones who came to us were rightwing nutters who tried to take over the Episcopalian Church and failed. Now, they’re trying to take US over. They’ll not win… but there’s going to be blood on the floor before it’s over. Let the fighters like me take the lead. I’ve got the scars to prove that’s where I belong. Things ARE coming to a head, dear. It won’t be overly long (in historical terms)… but the interim won’t be nice. Keep your head down. I love you all and I’ll do my damnedest to go after ANYONE who tries messing with you. Be good… love your family and your kids. THAT’S the ticket…

******

“I said what I meant and I meant what I said”… there’s more wisdom in Dr Seuss than there is in all the crapola issued by SVS and the “scholars” there. With Stokoe’s withdrawal from the fray, we’ve reached a new level. I’d advise all of you not to trust Lazar Puhalo, Mark Maymon, Michael Dahulich, or Matthias Moriak, or anyone in their factions. Moriak knifed Mark Stokoe in the back… at the same time, Moriak feathered his son’s nest… I find that hypocritical and nasty. Maymon’s a rebel who refused to go where his bishop ordered him to go, and Fathausen picked him off the rubbish tip. Originally, Dahulich was Nicholas Smisko’s protégé… note well that Nicholas rejected BOTH Moriak and Dahulich as his successors (and Nicholas Smisko was a holy man). Puhalo’s been a maverick his entire career and I expect him play true to form… where’s he going next? In short… if you don’t know EXACTLY what you’re doing… KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN! This goes double for converts… you don’t know the players… don’t hurt yourself. Let us old sweats take the field. Let’s have a short video to get us in the mood:

******

RT Report on the parade on Red Square on 7 November 2011 in honour of both Great October and the fighters of the VOV (some of whom were in the audience). The highest ranking official present was Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. (As an aside, the Russian Wikipedia article focuses on his technical training, whilst the American Wikipedia article focuses on the minor issue of the “gay parade”, which Mayor Sobyanin banned. I prefer the Russian concentration.)

******

Look at the above video, and remember who we are. We spring from the people who:

On top of that, our people here in America were in the forefront of the fight for justice in the American workplace. We stood tall at Black Lick and Homestead, and fought back the scabs (by the way, Canadian law either restricts or BANS scabs… which country is freer… the USA or Canada?) and hired thugs in the sit-down strikes. If any of you of po-nashemu or Russian background have prospered, it’s because of these people’s bravery for standing for what’s right and true. We must do the same today. A pack of semi-Prodddie rightwing jackals want to hijack our Church. It’s time to fight back. It’s time to show these creepozoids what we’re made of. No… one shouldn’t “fight” all the time… but when it’s called for, you stand up and give it to ‘em, full force. Let’s keep it simple. Do you want Fathausen and his pals like Velencia to use lawyers to harass you if they don’t like you? If you don’t stand up and fight ‘em, that’s what’s gonna happen. JP hollers about “integrity”… what did Tosi say? “The records simply don’t exist”… THAT’S “integrity” in Fathausen’s book. JP lies about his ties to a schismatic sodomite “monk”… THAT’S “integrity” in his book. JP defends Raymond Velencia’s actions in sending a parishioner’s personal pastoral information to the entire Metropolitan Council to titter over. THAT’S “integrity” in his book. If you don’t fight back… why, you’ll face “integrity”… in the form of a threat of legal action. Three to six of us can testify to that in open court. I’d gladly do so. Trust me… then, we could release all the people over the years who signed “gag agreements” with the OCA to find out the “rest of the story”. Fathausen would sink faster than Herman Cain is sinking in the polls. JP or Velencia will NEVER sue anyone… some of us know the score and are willing to fight.

Are you willing to swallow a kopeck’s worth? I have… it’s bitter as all hell and nasty. Yet… that’s what’s necessary. Shall you?

9 November 2011. Stokoe Commits Journalistic Seppuku With No Second… Who’ll Put Him Out of His Misery?

Read this:

OCANEWS.ORG Suspends Publication

As the book of Ecclesiastes famously observed,: There’s a time for every thing, and an appointed time for every event under the sun. With this posting OCANews.org reaches its appointed time and suspends publication. In October 2005, Protodeacon Eric Wheeler, a former OCA Treasurer, addressed a letter to the OCA Synod of Bishops outlining a web of financial irregularities and ecclesiastical misconduct at the highest levels of the OCA’s adminstration. The first article (from what would become OCANews.org) in Novmber 2005 placed those allegations in the context of a previous 1999 scandal  that had been successfully hushed up.  By the end of that month, Archbishop Job asked his famous question, “Are the allegations true or false?” effectively hindering a second cover-up.

OCANews.org officially began publishing on 7 January 2006, primarily as a means of encouraging the faithful of the OCA to seek answers to that question by focusing on issues of transparency and accountability in the Church. Since then more than 1,000 articles, reflections, and open letters have been published. These, in turn, led to more than 33,300+ posted comments. Nor were topics limited to the OCA… for more than a year the site was used by Antiochian brethren to ask hard questions of the Antiochian Archdiocese as well. Shortly before his untimely death in 2009, Archbishop Job was able to answer his question, Yes, the allegations were true. This didn’t end the need for transparency or accountability in the Church, however, as the Archbishop himself affirmed that we are indeed “free men”, with a duty to listen, learn, question, and discuss so as to build up our common life. Last year, in November 2010, I had to inform co-workers that I’d be unable to continue OCANews.org for very much longer. Best laid plans, however, had to be repeatedly postponed… given the arrest of Archbishop Seraphim, the release of Bishop Mark from Antioch, Santa Fe, the events surrounding Jonah’s first Leave, the tumultuous MC meeting in Chicago, the continuing dyspepsia in Syosset, the Mess in Moscow, and then the 16th AAC. Publication, by necessity though, became more infrequent and irregular. There can be no more postponements. I want to thank all who have contributed to OCANews.org over the past six years:

  • Thank you to all whose love of the OCA established this site, but, more importantly, whose faith, prayers, and work enabled it to fulfill its mission. You’ve not only my gratitude for your years of unsung and unseen efforts, but my deepest respect and abiding friendship.
  • Thank you to all, identified sources and unidentified sources, who contributed information often at personal and/or professional risk, so that the truth might be fully known.
  • Thank you to all who contributed articles, reflections, letters, and/or comments. Whether you agreed or disagreed with what was posted, such contributions consistently challenged us all to think and act concerning our Church in unaccustomed ways. The OCA’s better for that often painful effort.
  • Thank you to all who contributed by reading OCANews.org. Every reader had to choose to do so… there was never any syndication nor RSS feed… despite constant pleas that such be instituted. That tens of thousands choose to open these pages night after night, year after year, despite approbation, both official and unofficial, testifies to a deep wellspring of Faith, love of the Church, and a commitment to the truth by all who profess the Truth. Such bodes well for our future… whatever our past or current woes.
  • Finally, thank you, Lord, for this most wonderful, and unique opportunity to serve.

Wishing you all the best,

Mark Stokoe

Stokoe’s gone. NO reason was given, so, there’s no handle for any speculation. I think that Lyonyo’s backed into a corner with Fathausen, and they’re desperately throwing people off the zepp (à la Hell’s Angels) in a vain attempt to lighten ship and escape their pursuers. We’re seeing the end of the OCA, and it’s not pretty. Interestingly, Fathausen’s attacking the very people who could’ve stood by him in a last-ditch defence. Mark WAS a hard-ass autocepahlist, there’s no doubt on that score. The only people left in JP’s party are the konvertsy, the SVS crowd, and opportunists like Lyonyo and Piggy Iggy Burdikoff (although the last bunch named may attempt to jump ship before it’s too late). They’re desperately trying to present things as business as usual, whilst everyone knows otherwise. I know what it’s like to hang on the cross. I’m NOT jubilant that Mark’s gone. Mark was the last “honest” voice in the autocephalist camp. He truly believed in ADS‘ crapola, he really did. Oddly enough, Fathausen attacked Mark, even though he and Mark shared the same ideology. Trust me, people like Vlad Berzonsky (and his boy Vlad Jr) have noticed it and taken notes. They WON’T be as easy to take down. Let Fathausen’s crew celebrate… the water’s still lapping about their ankles. Say a prayer for Mark… he didn’t deserve to have his privacy trashed and his personal life aired… that shit is usually only done by Hardshell Proddie Nutcases. I know from personal experience that such hurts… and it hurts badly. Shall he come to his senses? Only time will tell us…

I was taught NEVER to kick someone when they’re down… I think that virtually all of you agree with that. Extend your hand to Mark… someone knifed him… someone CLOSE… that’s never a good feeling (I can think of few shittier feelings than betrayal, myself). If you can’t show pity to a fallen foe, you’re not decent, and that’s all that there’s to say on it…

9 November 2011. “Retired” Bishop Puhalo in Maine

ArchbishopLazar Puhalo, a “hierarch” of the Orthodox Church in America, blessing Kassaye Andoniades

______________________________

On Tuesday, Puhalo visited Lewiston to meet with students at Lewiston-Auburn College. Puhalo’s discussion ranged from ancient philosophy to modern ecological challenges and the ubiquity of the cellphone. Puhalo is the author of 48 books, several of which describe the intersection of science and religion. During Tuesday’s discussion, he counselled moderation in all things, including religion. He also held out hope for the future. Puhalo told the students who met at Lisbon Street’s Three One Cafe. “The younger generation, I think, is really better than my generation. They don’t tolerate the kind of blind hatred and prejudice that existed before”.

Lewiston (ME) Sun Journal

Editor’s Note:

One wonders why Puhalo, from an impecunious monastery in BC, was in Lewiston ME. Of course, the bogus nature of his “episcopate” is clear to all… Seraphim Stroheim’s “acceptance” of this charming rogue vagante and charlatan as a “retired bishop”, when Puhalo had, in fact, NEVER served as a canonical ruing bishop was irregular at best, uncanonical at worst (I got conflicting answers from the Russian sources I asked). What IS known is that Puhalo gads about Canada, puffing up Storheim’s “innocence”… is this part of that effort? After all, there’s a parish full of former HOOMie cultists in the State of Maine… was he visiting them?

Where does Puhalo get the money for gallivanting? Supposedly, the OCA’s low on funds… indeed, we should ask not only, “Where’s Puhalo’s travel money coming from”, we should ask, “Where’s the money for JP’s so-called ‘evaluation’ coming from… it WASN’T a line item in the OCA budget, y’know (Valerie Ringa gave NO details at the Sobor at what’s going to be cut in order to pay for it). Kids… NOTHING has changed in the OCA. The First Families still do as they please, and to hell with the rest of us. Talking about First Families, someone with the e-mail vberzonsky@x just subscribed to VFR. That doesn’t mean that it IS Vlad Berzonsky… there are enough internet goofs and trolls out there, but it’s a POSSIBLILITY… perspirin’ minds wanna know…

By the way, the OCA goodthinkers are stonewalling all questions about what went down at the Sobor. I had an interesting chat with Matushka Nina Stroyen yesterday on the phone. It appears that the autocephalist fanatics are giving out NO details and all that they’re saying is “how nice it all was”. People are frantic for information, and Fathausen makes Herman look like an accessible fountainhead of information. Anyone who trusts JP is crackbrained, and I say so openly. Lyonyo doesn’t’ trust him, nor does Potapov… although these two schemers use the Surfer, they DON’T trust him. I’d say that it IS a good possibility that Vlad Berzonsky has subscribed to this blog, as Fathausen’s erratic behaviour (to use the kindest term) is uniting the most disparate people.

The number of committed autocephalist fanatics decreases by the day… and Rebecca Matovic’s dispirited posts on the late Sobor lead any objective observer to believe that the fall of the OCA’s only a matter of “when”, not “if”. Moscow won’t move until the structure collapses of its own volition. That’s as it should be. We have to see the unsoundness and rottenness of the OCA so that we can clear away its rubble in toto so that that we can rebuild. Thank God, the dioceses and “national” church structures are only crudely welded-on superstructures. The parishes will go on, as they always have, after their demise.

Reality’s never pretty, it’s often unkind, and it’s sometimes “vulgar”… but it’s reality. Either we deal with reality… or, reality will deal with us. That’s the long n’ short of it…

9 November 2011. Carpatho-Russia… The IGNORED Minority of Mitteleuropa… WHY?

******

The arms of Carpatho-Russia, the forgotten minority of Mitteleuropa… the American rightwing ignores them… the Galician Uniates repress them… Russia supports them… what does that tell you?

******

******

The time has come to cross our Rubicon and say openly so that everyone can hear it… we can’t be separated by a Chinese wall from our brothers, and we can’t stand apart from our linguistic, ecclesiastical, and national connection with the entire Russian world!

Fr Ivan Naumovich (1825-91)

Carpatho-Russian Russophile

******

We aren’t Transnistria, we aren’t Georgia, we’re a distinct people, and we’d hope that the Ukrainians would give us a divorce in a peaceful way, like the Czechs and the Slovaks did.

Fr Dmitri Sidor (1955- )

Head of the Carpatho-Russian Parliament

Orthodox Confessor of Transcarpathia

******

The American government and media agonised over supposed human rights violations in Russia, China, and Iran. Yet, they’re silent about Ukrainian repression of Carpatho-Russian national aspirations. The American media didn’t tell you how the CIA-trained stooges of Yushchenko savagely beat Fr Dmitri Sidor… or how Langley’s Galician Uniate hirelings attack Carpatho-Russian nationhood… just as the Galician Uniate leadership (I don’t mean rank n’ filers here… they’re innocent) and their Vatican puppeteers suppress the history of the Habsburg concentration camp at Talerhof (denying the murder of Carpatho-Russian Russophiles there). The people who identify as “Carpatho-Russian” are usually our Orthodox co-religionists; those who call themselves “Rusyns” usually turn out as Uniates. That tells us, as Orthodox Christians, which side to favour… after all, those who call themselves “Rusyns” also call themselves “Byzantine Catholics“… and “Byzantine” is a noxious 16th century papal neologism for “New Roman”. Let’s extend our hands in aid to our Orthodox kin “from beyond the hills”… let’s give the toe of our boot to the pretensions of the Uniates. ‘Nuff said!
