Plaster Falling from the Ceiling Forces Closure of St Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Nice

Look at this picture… the EP bunch squatting in St Nick’s in Nice persecuted the Confessor of Christ Lydia Plas (1933-2010), who was a cathedral parishioner… Gabriel de Vylder barred her from the Mysteries unilaterally and without a hearing. Reflect on this… SVS supported (and supports to this day) this iniquitous action. Why? It’s what Schmemann taught them… that’s why! It’s what they do themselves! Pray for the repose of her soul… she stood for what was right, and she paid the cost. She’s a Heroine of the Faith. Also pray for the repose of the soul of Eric Iliff (1981-2007), another victim of the Renovationists, and pray for comfort for his parents, John and Monica. What’s happening at St Nick’s is a direct result of a group of grasping, gelt-grabbing, and power-hungry Renovationists… they persecute believers, but let their churches go to rack and ruin… Deus videat et iudicare!

Cathedral parishioners complained about the failure of the current occupants to follow court orders concerning the building…

A piece of plaster with a diameter of 1.5 to 2 metres fell on the south side of the nave of St Nicholas Cathedral in Nice. “The church is closed. Workmen have begun surveying the walls and other parts of the building”, a cathedral parishioner told Interfax-Religion on Wednesday. A piece of plaster fell near the memorial table; through a lucky coincidence, some tourists had just left the affected area in the cathedral only minutes before the incident. “Everything was covered with pieces of plaster and dust, as if it were a bombing, not to mention the fact that the fallen plaster came off one of the beautiful frescoes. [St Nicholas Cathedral] is an architectural gem, and many consider it the most beautiful Russian church building outside Russia. Since there’s a danger of further collapse, we’ve closed off the perimeter of the building with warning tape”, our informant told us. According to him, less significant plaster failures on the walls and the roof of the cathedral regularly happened in the past, but such a massive and dangerous collapse has never happened before. “For many years, it’s been clear that the so-called ‘Orthodox Association of Nice’, although it occupied the cathedral, wasn’t in a position to properly care for this beautiful church. What did they spend the huge amounts of money from the admissions paid by visitors on, I wonder? Did it all go to pay for the protracted litigation with the Russian Federation?” a parishioner said to us.

Our source informed us that French courts have twice declared that the Russian Federation is the legal owner of the church building and its site, but “the Association explicitly and insultingly ignores the rulings, its leaders are outlaws; two of the EP priests here openly stated that they aren’t going to obey the court’s decisions”. In May 2011, the Court of Appeal of Aix-en-Provence (France) recognised that the Russian Federation was the owner of St Nicholas Cathedral in Nice. Commenting on this decision, Viktor Khrekov, the Press Secretary for the RF Embassy in France told us that the decision was an important one for the country. “[St Nicholas] Cathedral is a part of Russia abroad; it’s connected with its history. The fact that it’ll return into the hands of the Motherland has a significant symbolic meaning”, he said. According to Khrekov, there’s one more court where the current occupants (the EP community) can appeal. He emphasised that “we’ll continue to work for the return of Russian property, and, when we receive a final decision, we’ll settle the formalities of administration, we’ll take stock of the situation at the cathedral, and take appropriate actions, in the interests of the believers who worship there”. Commenting on the current reluctance of the current occupants to hand over the church to its rightful Russian owners, Khrekov noted that for them, the cathedral is a “cash cow”. “They sell tickets for admission, according to various estimates, they earn up to one million Euros (40.56 million Roubles 1.45 million USD 900,000 UK Pounds) a year”, he said, explaining that the church did hold services, but they use it primarily as “a moneymaking tourist attraction”.

Let’s keep this simple… the Association in Nice is squatting in St Nicholas Cathedral. It’s using the proceeds from the tourist business to finance the buccaneers of the Parisian Russian EP Renovationists. They don’t use the funds to keep the building in good repair; they use them to finance the dying and moribund Parisian Russian émigré establishment. Reflect on this… Aleksandr Schmemann was from this group… Pierre l’Huillier was associated with this group… Vanya Behr came from this group… that means that SVS is infested root-and-branch with the Parisian Heresy (ADS and l’Huillier brought over the godless ramblings of Bulgakov, Florensky, and Vvedensky… and Behr continues their dissemination, today). They support the EP pirates in the cathedral, they rebelliously spit in the MP’s and Russia’s face… and they laugh manically! Don’t forget how SVS supported Gabriel de Vylder uncritically when Gabriel persecuted poor Mme Plas, barring her from the Eucharist for no good reason (SVS applauded… it’s common practise in the OCA, I fear… ADS brought this evil amongst us)… His Holiness Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev noticed her passing, and sent on his personal condolences to her grieving family and friends.

Pray for the victory of the light over the darkness, and that Russia regains the full usage of this property (they’ll maintain it properly and not siphon off the funds as the modernists do)… it’ll hasten the end of the Parisian Russian cabal… good riddance to bad rubbish; there’s nothing else to say.

The quote above is ACTUALLY what she said. Only a semi-literate boob would say such a thing. I’d phrase it as, “Most people would say that I’m a substantive and serious person, with a good grounding in what I speak about”. The above statement is vague, it’s not to the point, and it doesn’t make clear what she has “a strong background” in. In any case, to insist that John Quincy Adams was one of the “Founding Fathers” of the USA is ludicrous and asinine. Have we found someone DUMBER than Lil’ Mizz Sarah? In any case, both of them are Radical Sectarians (both are “born again” fanatics)… and such are not known for either their erudition or education. This woman wants to run for election as the President of the USA? The fact that so many knuckle-draggers in the current GOP base are willing to vote for her is a sign of deep malaise in the Republican Party. Trust me… she’s no worthy successor to Ike, Rocky, Barry Goldwater, or Jacob Javits. Oh… I forgot! They’re RINOs! Anne Coulter, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck say so… oh, the humanity! This is high farce… but it has to play out to its illogical and Jabberwockian conclusion. Unfortunately, there are no daily or weekly graphs for OT, as it doesn’t have enough readership. If you look at the weekly readership graph for VFR below, you’ll find that it’s recovering after the usual early summer doldrums. Do note that OT’s monthly readership is less than 30 percent of VFR’s (5,300 compared to 19,200).

As far as “hits” go, as OT’s stats are similar to Stokoe’s, he probably has a much higher level of “addicts” than I do. This inflates the number of hits on a small readership base. If OT has 50 percent “addicts” (daily users), which isn’t inconceivable given that oca.org has 31 percent addicts (86 percent of visits) and Stokoe has 76 percent addicts (97 percent of visits), his addicts alone would give him nearly 80,000 hits a month. Remember, it’s not “hits” that count… it’s “readership”. If site’s readership is driven by “searches” (as VFR is), it has a pyramid-shaped graph, that is, most hits come from single users, then, there’s a smaller group of “regulars”, with addicts as the smallest group at the apex. If “regulars” drive a group, then, the graph assumes either an inverted pyramid shape or a diamond shape (with a narrower lower point). That’s why VFR has a greater potential for growth in future… more people come, therefore, I’ve got the chance to “convert” more folks to “regulars”, all things being equal. OT, Stokoe, and oca.org are “preaching to the choir”, and the stats show it.

There’s not much to choose between VFR and OT as far as gender, age, or ethnicity goes (I’m getting more Alaska Natives as my “other” is 101, and OT only has 56). In income, OT’s largest group is the under 30K group, whilst my largest segment is the 100K+ crowd. In education, OT reaches 20 percent fewer “no college” sorts, and has 50 percent more in the “grad school” cohort. In short, OT smells like another clergy/church hobbyist site. Jacobses’ chariot crashes to the ground, yet again. Beware of konvertsy internet bogeymen… when you look at the stats, you realise that they’re all pumped up out of all proportion, it does show you that it does take all kinds, and that jumped-up frauds are to be found under just about every rock.

As for me, I’m an independent internet journalist; I’ve not said that I’m anything else. I don’t affect to be an “expert” as Stokoe, Mattingly, Dreher, Freddie M-G, and Jacobses do. I do read the Russian press daily… I do follow the Church news at the Centre with some diligence… that gives me insights that escape the Fox News/Rush Limboob-formed mushy brains of the konvertsy crowd. In any case, guys, you’ve spoken. That’s where it’s at… and I thank you for it.

29 June 2011. JP’s Latest Attempt to “Plant” Monasticism in the District…

I heard this through the grapevine:

If anyone has a concern about the decrease in the monastic presence in DC… don’t worry! On Monday evening, JP tonsured his deacon, Gregory Stevens as a riassaphore, and gave him as a new name, his own former name… James. JP’s barmy for doing this… Stevens is also known as “Veronica Lake” because of his pretty hair… for JP to give him his secular name… that’s very odd… it’s almost queer.

This isn’t very bright… what with the rumours of homosexuality that’ve dogged him since his relationship with Gleb Podmoshensky became common knowledge, JP should’ve lain low. However, note well that all the moralistic konvertsy defend JP ferociously and vehemently. They defend his associates tooth-and-nail, too. They don’t care that Nikolai Soraich is a gay… they don’t care that BP’s gay, and a drunkard, to boot… they don’t care that Isidore Brittain’s gay. They don’t care that he served publicly with Feodosy Lazor and Herman Swaiko, two notorious gays. They don’t care that Pierre l’Huillier had “interesting” tastes. In fact, they grin idiotic smiles at the rolling fagorama that the upper reaches of the OCA has become. I include posturing “moralists” such as Patrick Reardon in that number… they mewl about Rowan Williams… whilst they defend Seraphim Storheim and positively beam at Raymond Velencia. Why Hilarion Kapral allowed himself to become allied to such amoral filth is beyond me. It leads to questions about morality in the current ROCOR; doesn’t he understand that? The most important upshot of it all is that the Clerical First Families have cast their lot in with Fathausen; they’ve made it clear that Hilarion Alekseyevich is nothing but their cat’s paw. If this doesn’t tell you of the rot infesting the higher levels of both the OCA and the ROCOR, nothing will. As for me, I believe that it’ll end with the konvertsy leaving us… we’re not “pure enough” for them.

Oh, by the way, before we go… at 21.30 EDT Wednesday 29 June 2011, oca.org and Stokoe still have posted NOTHING on the ROCOR “receiving” the group of rebellious nuns that JP was harbouring in DC (after all, they had NO canonical release from their bishop in Greece). I did notice that oca.org did give space earlier to vacuous nonsense concerning a “Church Growth Boot Camp” and an “Urban Summit” (hey, I didn’t make those up, it’s what the fools actually called them)… they’re posting toothless fluff, so, what’re they hiding from us?

It’s getting darker by the day, and events are getting murkier. God do help us…
