11 May 2012. Get a Load of This… Bristol Palin Spouts Off on “Traditional Families”

______________________________

Note this:

Bristol Palin’s sparking a social media backlash for disagreeing with President Barack Obama‘s support of same-sex marriage. The former Dancing with the Stars contestant, author, and UNWED MOTHER (my emphasis: editor) said in her blog, “We know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home”. The daughter of Sarah Palin also commented that Obama’s daughters, Sasha and Malia, influenced his decision, saying, “I guess we can be glad that Malia and Sasha aren’t younger, or perhaps today’s press conference might have been about appointing Dora the Explorer as Attorney General because of her success in stopping Swiper the Fox”.

There’s more, click here if you wish to read it (I found it dreary and off-point, but, what the hey, it’s there for completeness’ sake). To keep it simple, Bristol Palin’s a single mom… that’s to say, she’s NOT a “traditional mother in a traditional family”. She doesn’t practise what she preaches, full stop. For that matter, neither does her mother. It speaks volumes about “conservatives” and their idols, doesn’t it? If Bristol Palin’s mum weren’t a teabagger pol, what would the Rabid Born Again Right think of her? Interesting question, no?

Pardon me, teabaggers, but your collective slip’s showing… in a major way.

The Leader of PASOK Refused To Form a Government in Greece… Early Elections Probable

A 77-year-old-man committed suicide in front of the parliament buildings… he said that he could be a burden to his children or he could “eat garbage”. THAT’S what “austerity” means, kids… that’s the ugly scabrous reality of it all. It’s the Republican Party’s panacea for the USA, too… I say, “Fuck the banksters, fuck their political whores, and, most of all, fuck their oligarch paymasters”… there’s no “nice” way of putting it… a vote for the GOP is a vote for throwing our parents on the scrap heap. Please, excuse me, as I hurl…

On Friday, in a live national TV broadcast, PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos refused the mandate to form a government, paving the way for a new round of elections. He said the reason was that the SYRIZA leftist coalition refused to participate in the government, saying, “SYRIZA‘s participation (in the cabinet) is a necessity”. On Saturday, Venizelos will inform President Karolos Papoulias of the impossibility of forming a government. PASOK is the third political bloc to fail to form a cabinet. Now, under the constitution, the President must convene a council of the leaders of the parliamentary parties, and if this measure doesn’t produce a result, he must dissolve the parliament elected on 6 May and call new elections for next month.

Venizelos received the mandate only after the centre-right New Democracy and the radical Left SYRIZA tried to form broad coalitions , but failed… the leftists said that they weren’t going to abandon their position. Speaking on state television, Alexis Tsipras, the leader of SYRIZA, said, “Mr Venizelos’ proposal envisaged the creation of a broad-based government with our participation, to implement his policy vis-à-vis creditors. SYRIZA refused this offer, as the Greek people have spoken at the ballot box”.

Meanwhile, lenders warned Greece that it must fulfil its obligation to reduce spending , or they threatened Greece with expulsion from the EurozoneDie Zeit quoted German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble as saying that Europe can cope with a possible withdrawal of Greece from the Eurozone. He said, “Over the past two years we’ve learned a lot and were able to build protective mechanisms”. On Friday, international rating agency Fitch Ratings warned that it intends to put the ratings of all countries in the Eurozone under review for downgrade if Greece leaves the monetary union due to a political crisis, or because of its failure to meet its financial obligations to its creditors.

11 May 2012. Fathausen the Great Creates New Rules for Making Archbishops

______________________________

Click here for the latest Pravda from oca.org… Lil’ Mizz Ginny makes it all sound so NORMAL… that means that she’s a soulless and worthless apparatchik opportunist, but that’s another story. As it was, the Great Infallible, ever-Impeccable, and Supreme Leader Fathausen the Great changed the rules. Now, diocesan bishops with five years of service will be elevated to the dignity of Archbishop. Prior to this, the old rule (from Metropolia days) was that diocesan bishops could only be elevated after twenty years of service. Archbishop Pierre l’Huillier was an exception; he was elevated to the dignity of Archbishop by the MP very shortly before they canonically released him to the OCA. In the beginning, he didn’t use this honorific because the Holy Synod, under the influence of ADS, wasn’t elevating any bishop other than the First Hierarch to the dignity of Archbishop. I guess Benjamin Peterson has to be rewarded for his DUI arrest… it may be helpful for him to say that he’s an ARCHbishop (as in his, “Do you know who I am?” to the arresting officer), rather than just a “mere” bishop, if he’s ever nicked by John Law again for drink driving.

Things are NEVER boring in Orthodoxy in America… the folks in the Rodina wouldn’t believe a tenth of the loony shit that goes on here in the American diaspora. That’s one reason why they haven’t moved… they can’t believe that ORTHODOX hierarchs would do some of the things that JP & Co do. However (as Chukcha the Wise would say), I think that’s about to change…

Patriarch Kirill Urged People Not To Follow Populist Demagogues

_____________________________

Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias urged Russians not to believe those who promise to build a new world on the ruins of the old one. After the end of a parade with more than a thousand participants at Poklonnaya Gora after a Liturgy served at St George the all-Victorious Church on the eve of Victory Day and on the feast of St George, he said, “We, Orthodox people, as defenders of the Motherland mustn’t succumb to the temptation of alluring, empty, loud, and useless words, whose only purpose is to divide us, destroy our heritage, and build something new… but what… nobody knows. They tell us that the new world will be beautiful, but why do they seduce our people, encouraging everybody to rip things down to the foundations to build a happy new world? Yet, we know from historical experience that such calls turn into terrible conflicts, attacking the verities of our ancestors, parents, and people”.

Before this speech, His Holiness preached a homily after liturgy in the church, pointing up that feast day of St George, 6 May, was at the end of the Great Patriotic War, emphasising, “The power of the Orthodox Faith has always underpinned the heroism of the Russian people. When a terrible enemy attacked our motherland, there wasn’t any talk of compromise. It would seem that our country’s position was irrational in terms of objective reality… the enemy was at the gates of the capital, the foe exceeded the capabilities of our army and the entire country by a wide margin; they were better armed, the military leaders who led their terrible hordes had much experience of modern warfare, and they had iron discipline. However, nothing could stop the people, who didn’t compromise with evil, even at the most terrible times. Doubtlessly, God’s dispensation aided the heroism of our people; it was incomparable, for they repulsed the enemy from the gates of Moscow”. In his view, the people “prayed to St George fervently, it was no coincidence”, and it wasn’t chance that the Soviet Army Guards ribbons had the ribbon of the Order of St George the all-Victorious, because people understood that “St George was the foremost victor over evil in human history”.
