29 November 2012. It DOES Take All Kinds… Here’s What to Do About the Loudmouth Konvertsy…

Every so often, one or another of the Cabinet tells me about the latest shenanigans of Monomakhos or Dreher or Freddie M-G… Look at the above image, kids… that’s what they are. They’re LOUD… they’re PUSHY… they’re righteously and completely “full of it”. Don’t ever argue with such sorts… it’s an utter waste of God-given time. They’re “right”, dontcha know… and they’re not going to change their minds. They wouldn’t listen if God Himself were to come down from Heaven (they’d be like the rich people in the Parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man). So, it’s no surprise that they don’t listen to sinners such as you and me. They actually believe that Orthodoxy has a “step-by-step spiritual plan to achieve theosis“. I’m not joking… one of the jabronies really wrote that one. Barmy, ain’t it?

Remember the original title of the book by Tikhon Shevkunov… “Unholy Holiness”. Holiness is something wild… I don’t mean abandoned… I don’t mean wanton… it’s “wild”… it’s untamed, it’s not “domesticated”. If you see someone preaching that holiness is a matter of reading and study, avoid them, especially if they’re clergy (this is what virtually all the konvertsy spout, unfortunately). The Holy can only be apprehended in life… we must wrestle with it as Jacob did. Otherwise, we’re loud squawking ostriches with our head in the sand (I did choose the above image with malice aforethought).

However, don’t argue with them and don’t get involved in their pinheaded disputes. You have better things to do…

UN Upgrades Palestinian Status to Non-Member Observer State

On Thursday, the UN General Assembly recognised the Palestinian Authority (PA) as a non-member observer state. 138 UN members approved the Palestinian bid, submitted by President Mahmoud Abbas, nine voted against it, and 41 abstained from voting. The move amounts to an implicit recognition of Palestinian statehood and increases the PA’s chances of joining other UN bodies. It also allows the Palestinian Authority to challenge the continuing construction of Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian land in the International Criminal Court. Before the historic vote, Abbas urged the General Assembly “to issue the birth certificate of Palestine”. He also reiterated that Palestinians would continue their efforts to achieve fully-recognised statehood.

Abbas submitted Palestine’s official application for recognition as an independent state in the UN in September 2011. An American veto in the Security Council blocked that bid. Thousands of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip greeted the Thursday vote with great jubilation, as it formally gives them global recognition. Now, the PA, which earlier had “permanent observer” status at the UN, joins the Vatican as the only other entity with non-member observer state status.

Exactly 65 years ago, on 29 November 1947, the UN General Assembly passed a resolution calling for Palestine to be partitioned between Arabs and Jews, allowing for the formation of the Jewish state of Israel in 1948. The Palestinians rejected that partition plan, and decades of tension and violence followed. The Palestinians demand the establishment of a Palestinian state in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem, the territories captured by Israel in the 1967 Six Day War, as a precondition for peace talks with Tel Aviv.

Editor’s Note:

This is a good step. The Church supports the Palestinians… not the violent Zionists and their American sugar-daddies. If it wasn’t for American support, Israel would be forced to have serious peace talks with the Palestinians. As more than one Arab has told me, “So-called ‘terrorism’ will end when the USA ends its support of Zionist terrorism“. Amen.

However, to be clear… I oppose Zionism and all its works… I also oppose anti-Semitism and all its works. That’s part and parcel of a unified world view… to be against anti-Semitism, but to support Zionism, is a logical impossibility. Zionism is racism… anti-Semitism is racism… both are evil and all decent people must fight both.

You Can’t Make Up Shit Like This… Georgian Strongman Pulls 8-Ton Truck with One Ear

On Thursday, Georgian record-holding strongman Lasha Pataraya set a new record by pulling an 8.28-ton truck attached to his left ear by a cord. Pataraya pulled the truck a total of 71 feet (21.5 metres) at Rustavi International Motorpark near the country’s capital, Tbilisi. A special commission verified the record. He said, “It took me two months to prepare for this record. I expected [to pull the truck] to a distance of 10 metres, but the result surpassed my expectations”. Pataraya added that he didn’t expect to carry out such an achievement. Gvandzhi Mania, head of the Georgian Union of Sporting Achievements and Records, noted that this was Pataraya’s seventh record. After he set the record, Pataraya’s friends threw him into the air several times. A special medical team then checked his medical condition. Free-style wrestler Pataraya set his first record for dragging heavy weights with strings attached to his ears in October 2003, when he pulled a 2.35 ton microbus 135 feet (41.1 metres). He is also famous for breaking a Chinese-held record for carrying a 115 pound (52.5 kilos) weight by his ears for 19.9 seconds. In October 2007, he hauled a helicopter weighing almost eight tons by his ears for 86 feet (26 metres). Mania said that Pataraya had been ready for some time to make a new attempt on the record, but a lack of sponsorship had been a problem, saying, “We’re grateful for the support of the Platinum vodka company, which sponsored the event”.
